One of the amazing folks working at Austino's Patisserie!

Had stopped by to enjoy some food after spending some time at the aquarium. The chopped ham sandwich was great and was the ice cream. Got some macarons and the owner was nice enough to add some extras. Had a really great time here and the food everyone else ordered was also really good. Definitely coming again!

Made a trip out to the Aquarium and we asked a few of the employees for a recommendation before leaving. They all suggested Austino's Patisserie, which is conveniently located across the street, so we decided to try it out. It's a nice little cafe with a good amount of seating outside. I had the Reuben sandwich on sliced sourdough bread, which was super flavorful and delicious, definitely would get it again. My wife had the turkey club, a great option as well. Nice amount of turkey breast meat with crispy bacon and fresh veggies. To drink we also had a Vietnamese coffee and Austino's Signature black milk tea with brown sugar and boba, on point and up to the standards we're accustomed to in San Jose. We loved it all and would definitely recommend this spot for a post-aquarium adventure meal.

Picked up a salted pretzel and cheese dip, churro, chocolate donut, and Gatorade for kids as a snack. The interior had a couple of tables and a few tables outside. They have pastries, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and precut fruit in cups. The pretzel was okay but the churro was too dense and overdone. Another patron approached the front counter to return their fruit cup as the fruit had mold. The employee apologized and offered a refund.

Service was good, helpful. Food was good: turkey club sandwiches were tasty. Bread was fresh. Ambiance, its small. Not a lot of seating. This is more of a pick up your food and take is elsewhere, like the beach or park for a picnic.

Located right across from the Monterey Bay Aquarium entrance, it's the the first thing you see when you arrive early and are standing in line and it's the first thing you see when you leave when you are hungry. We were trying to make it to the aquarium by 9 am so my wife skipped breakfast and was hungry by the time we made the drive down. She remembered somewhere close to the aquarium and skipped a crepe place, Starbucks, and cinnaroll place to come here. They had a nice glass case with some fast small bite food options and also advertised pizza, ice cream, and clam chowder in a bread bowl. Turkey croissant: this was $15 with tax and ultra basic, the ingredients were fine but I couldn't get over the fact that it was really cold, so cold it hurt my teeth when I took a bite. If I could go back in time I would ask for this heated but would be annoying and ask for the tomato and lettuce to not be heated with it.

We got a strawberry matcha and it was WAY TOO OVER PRICED. It was just about $10 for a small drink which is outrageous. It was not sweet at all so we had to add multiple packs of sugar and the size is so small I was shocked when he gave us our order. At that price you would be better off going to another shop to grab a drink. They're pricing themselves more than a Starbucks and the taste isn't there to try to justify it. Definitely do not recommend coming here. The ambiance inside is nothing special at all and everything looks outxatwd

Looking for a breakfast and coffee place we stopped here and were very happy with our choice. The worker was so nice and the place is small and cozy. Sat inside enjoyed our food and watched people walk by. Loved my latte perfectly made. And the breakfast burrito was huge and full of eggs.

Love the coffee that we had here. The workers took their time to make it exactly as we wanted it. They were kind and patient. The macaroons looked scrumptious and it smelled delicious:) It was a cute little place with a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee on cannery row

This is a cute mom & pop cafe. With all of the fancy cafes and bakeries, sometimes you just something a bit more simple and nostalgic. Well, Austino's is that! One morning I just wanted a yogurt and fruit, and I saw the had parfaits. The portion size was filling, the yogurt was vanilla, it had a good amount of granola and fruit. The following day, I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese, plain glazed doughnut, and a Thai iced tea (yes, they even have that). All were great! I've never had my doughnut warmed up, so that was a nice surprise. The servers were friendly and the orders were given to me quickly. If you're in the area, stop by!

Menu - some of the prices were blacked out - but still reasonably priced

Austino's is a solid stop for breakfast/lunch in the Monterey Bay Aquarium area. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon, after spending my morning at the aquarium, coming here after recommendations from friendly aquarium staff. They have a decent menu with breakfast and lunch favorites such as pancakes, belgian waffles, quiche, as well as deli sandwiches and their famous clam chowder. I opted for their Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl - service was prompt and attentive. The serving of clam chowder was great - the clerk asked if I wanted it in my bread bowl or separately, since I was taking it back to my hotel to eat. It's a thoughtful question - I like my bread soft, not crisp - so opted to have it served in the bread bowl. There is a display case with macaroons and other sweets, as well as another display case with quiche. Limited seating inside and outside of cafe. Minus one star since my bread didn't get the garlic butter option that a few of these other reviews mention. Wasn't an option, nor was it offered to me. It sounds tasty tho - I'm a fan of garlic butter, and it would've made this meal even richer.

Great location, but very sad food and unimpressive atmosphere. Definitely don't order the food. The ice cream is good. It's a decent place to grab a quick ice cream.

If you don't want to pay the exorbitant prices for food inside the aquarium, this is right outside. Very tasty and super fast service.

We visited on a Thurs night around 7pm, there were a lot of people. Ordering was a few people ahead of us. The 2 pizzas took a long while to arrive (about 20mins). The pizza was absolutely delicious!! What was upsetting is the staff. The staff behind the counter were not very polite, they were short, brief, and no smiles. Not an ounce of customer service. One was actually kind of rude. Only the bus person that cleaned the tables was so nice and kind with us. Food is 5 stars. Staff and customer service 3 stars. The staff quickly noticed we had our 1 year old and brought us a high chair and helped us make ourselves comfortable. My son was able to eat in his chair and be loud and not stand out as there were many other children and families and the spot was loud. I appreciated this! The lasagna was a huge portion but lacked in flavor and the pizza by husband got was just ok. The breadsticks were cold and dry unfortunately, but very inexpensive. The food fell short for me but as a family friendly spot, it was perfect.

Turns out it was a felicitous error. I got the JRC2 (prosciutto, mozz, red pepper, dijon, and vin on a seeded roll) and a friend got the Filippo (pistachio mortadella with provolone). We belatedly noticed the muffaletta, which also would have been a good choice. The shop has various chips, snacks, Italian pantry items, and alcohol for purchase to complement your sandwich. Also check the specials board and deli case before finalizing your order, lots of good stuff. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes for our sandwiches, which was unexpected but not unpleasant - signs say everything is made to order and during busy times, they get backed up. If you're ordering for a group, maybe have one person wait and the others can wander around to explore (maybe grab some baklava nearby!). We ended up taking our orders to the beach to dine with a view. Highly recommend this idea. Portions are large, a sandwich is easily shared, especially with a bag of chips.

This was good but a bit underwhelming as I felt there wasn't enough cheese nor garlic. Mostly bread. We got a small size Half Heirloom Half Heritage deep dish pizza. My favorite was the Heirloom because I enjoyed the veggies in the pizza, but my boyfriend liked the heritage more (tons of meat). Keep in mind that if you don't like tomatoes, this pizza is probably not for you because the tomato sauce is much thicker than a thin crust pizza. We got here at around 7PM on a Saturday. Beware that the deep dish takes a minimum of about 30 minutes to come out. Ours took 40 minutes. I wish the server told us this to warn us, as I overheard this from nearby customers who were complaining about the wait. The place is quite casual with both indoor and outdoor seating.
