    Chicken Supreme and Margarita Pizza
    Devin M.

9.1/10 Great Pizza Spot! Ordered the Chicken Supreme and Margherita Pizza, and both absolutely delivered. Starting with the Chicken Supreme, this one really surprised me in the best way. I've never been big on chicken on pizza, but this completely changed my mind. The garlic flavor was subtle (which I appreciated since garlic can easily overpower a dish), and the creamy white sauce paired perfectly with the toppings. I'm usually not a huge white sauce fan either, but it worked beautifully here. The bacon was generous and evenly distributed throughout, adding the perfect savory touch. The crust was on the thinner side, crispy, and not greasy at all, which made every bite even better. Moving on to the Margherita Pizza, a classic and my personal must order at any pizza spot. This one did not disappoint. Fresh basil, tomatoes, olive oil, and garlic all came together perfectly. Again, I appreciated the subtle garlic flavor that enhanced rather than overwhelmed the pizza. Like the Chicken Supreme, the crust was thin, nicely crisped, and not oily or greasy. Clean flavors done right. Honestly, I can't pick a favorite because both pizzas were unique in their own way and equally satisfying. Service was great, the staff was attentive and very friendly throughout our visit. The ambiance felt a little questionable at first, but it's just a smaller establishment with a cozy vibe. They had the Olympics playing, which actually made the experience more fun and entertaining. Overall, a great spot I'd definitely return to!

Some of the best pizza in Monterey! Probably run by some of the sweetest people and the service is excellent. Our pepperoni pizza was made promptly and perfectly! The crust is what makes me come back for more. Definitely a staple if you're in the Monterey area.

Friendly staff, and good pizza. A little pricey we paid 27 for a medium pizza and two waters but it was pretty delicious. A nice little local spot to check out in the area next to baskin Robbin's, the comic store and Plato's closet!

We spent the morning in Pacific Grove, and worked our way back to Monterey. We were getting hungry. Pizza sounded good. We came across Pelican Pizza. We ordered the most wanted. It's a small place with just a few tables, but they're comfortable. The staff is friendly. I really like this pizza. The dough was soft, but not too thick. There were plenty of toppings. It was cooked well. You can always tell how hungry I am, when the photos are taken later in the meal. If you're in this area, you'll wanna give Pelican Pizza a try.

We ordered a custom medium size pizza, with pepperoni, bacon and extra cheese. Decent price. But a soda was The owner was nice and calm. The place was empty, three tables inside with chairs. The gentleman who was making the pizza was throwing the dough in the air which my kids enjoyed watching. Pizza came out fast and fresh. It was delicious! Better than expected. Before we knew it, the place got busy! More pizza being tossed in the air, grabbed more children attention, lol. It was a cool little establishment. Reading the other reviews, looks like this pizzeria has been here for a long time and I can see way!

Great little spot to grab a bite and they had a great special going on at the time of our visit. We had to grab it and go back to the hotel but still a good pizza. I'm sure it would been even better if we had ate it while it was right out of the oven.

Arrived here around 7:45p on a Saturday. We ordered a regular Pepperoni pizza and a custom Margherita (added pesto drizzle and bacon). My sibling is a loyal Pelican Pizza customer (8 yrs so far), so it was only right to bring them here for their birthday. :) The Pepperoni pizza delivered deliciousness per usual. My customized pizza was lovely. It had a reaaaally nice cheese pull and tasted great. The dough to toppings ratio was just right and the pesto was especially tasty. The customer service was friendly and attentive as usual. Keith, if you read this, YOU DA MAN! THANK YOU SO MUCH! It is a smaller shop and there are only three tables, but it is a lovely little spot.

We walked in and keith was throwing dough in the back, welcomed us pointed us to a menu, kept working all the way through. Came up with a smile and took our order. Got us. Our drinks got to work making our food. Very solid pizza light crust with good flavor in the sauce, we had a pepperoni and a dinner salad. I will definitely be coming back when we are back in town! As former pizzeria owners, we know quality pizza when we get it. Thanks for making it an awesome meal Keith! Dictated not read.

The pizza itself is a pizza, nothing too crazy and nothing too memorable. However; service and price would make it a five star review! Those working here are very accommodating and nice, the variety of coupons also helped!

I was looking for some comfort food, so pizza is my go to. And theirs was really good! It's a little on the lighter side done side but for me that's perfect. I was gonna get a medium but the one helping me said it was the same price for a large one topping. The staff were friendly. They weren't too busy when I went around 3. And it was pretty quick for me to get my food. I'm definitely keeping them in mind next time I come to town.

Fair enough. We a got a table fairly quickly and requested for it to be cleaned. We then went to the counter to put in our order which was a medium house combination pizza and a small caesar salad. It was Friday night, so we knew the wait would be a bit long, and they warned us, it would be about 40 minutes. The salad came out in about 25 mins, and the pizza another 45 mins later (this means the the wait ended up being 70 mins.) The salad was standard. The pizza came hot with the perfect amount of toppings, the crust looked airy, and cheese was melted. Well, it looked alot better than it tasted. It was pretty average and the crust ended up oily and lacked flavor.

The crust was flavorful, just thick enough to hold up, but thin enough not to fill you up. The sauce, was to me, a perfect tangy zesty tomato sauce , not spicy, containing chunks of fresh tomato. Under the sauce, enveloped within a succulent bed of cheese, were the items. The pepperoni was solid, fresh and a flavor delight, but the star was the Slider Pizza. Packed with succulent meatballs, with mushrooms, onions and garlic, each bite was a savory flavor bomb on my taste buds !

The pizza was doughy(seemed raw/undone), cold... not good at all. we had even ordered it "extra crispy" when we placed the order. It was expensive too at $25 for a pizza that was like a small. The tiramisu was delicious at least. The person working was apologetic, but I don't think I would get this again.

Gusto is one of the few truly scratch-made Italian restaurants that specializes not only in pizza, pasta, and sauces, but also features an old-school brick, wood-fired pizza oven. Hell, they even make their own mozzarella! They have not only caught the eye of locals and Yelpers, but have also managed to earn a recommendation in the current Michelin Guide. The Good: * Private parking lot, as well as street parking. * Fabulous service from Alex! * Prices are very reasonable considering the food quality. * Local beers on tap. * Strawberry Prosciutto Salad (seasonal special) was fantastic! Who knew strawberries paired so perfectly with salty, cured prosciutto and pistachios? This might not be on the menu all the time, but if you see it, get it! * Complimentary focaccia was unbelievably soft and delicious. As if it couldn't get any better, their olive tapenade served alongside it was equally delicious, making for an unbeatable duo. * The Margherita pizza is the ultimate test of a pizza restaurant--and they passed with flying colors! It's so simple that if something isn't right, it'll be easy to spot, but everything from the homemade mozz to the slightly charred crust and the delicious sauce made this the perfect pie. I give it a score of 3.14159265359...! The Meh: * Meatballs were a touch too tough and could've been a bit more tender. They were still fuçking delicious, so honestly, who cares? This is an update/reply to owner on 4/1:…read more I think your reply to me here is making matters worse. You're refusing to take accountability for the fact that you hired an individual who is extremely obnoxious, mouthy, and disrespectful to a customer who is having a problem due to a combination of factors - one being that you closed early on a weekend night, and the other being that a third-party service is failing to do a good job. A third-party service I might add who you have chosen to do business with. As a small business owner myself, as you pointed out, I can assure you, I will never hire a person and allow them to work at my front desk who has the audacity to treat customers as rudely as your employee did. The largest offense here was the behavior of your employee and that is the one thing you have failed to address. There are solutions to the problems you were having - one is as simple as writing a note on your door, letting your customers know that you've chosen to close early that day. Another is refusing to do business with a third-party who is making matters worse rather than better for your business. But the most important thing here is having the care And attention that is required to not hire people capable of being so rude to your customers. Your employee did not make that offer of a pizza until we pointed out that he could have done something better to address the situation rather than giving mouth. But the point here is, we did not want pizza at that time. We wanted the night before when we were in a jam, and by that point, our trust in the food at your store was completely shattered. Because if a person makes a decision to hire someone that is so rude to customers, they may also make the decision to hire a cook who spits in your food. And anyone who fails to understand or address the unacceptable behavior of their employees when it is necessary is indeed a one star establishment. This is an update: A person from Pizza My Way called me a day after I posted my original 1-star review. She was friendly and helpful, and ultimately refunded the $40. I appreciated that. So I brought my review up to 3 stars. However, the situation was seriously unacceptable. Businesses have a responsibility to hire people who are going to treat customers with respect and who are capable of responding to problems created by decisions of the restaurant and their policies. This was a stressful experience and my wife and I walked away feeling very disrespected and initially $40 poorer with no pizza and no solution. The young person working for them has no business treating customers who pay a whopping $40 for a pizza that way- and his behavior being tolerated makes it impossible for me to give the restaurant another chance - so I cannot give an honest review of their food only their service. Maybe if someday I get a call that they have let said employee go they can regain my trust and I'll give them a try because their right up the street, and perhaps I can become a regular customer since I'm so close and they can get a higher rating from me. Originally posted 5/15: Worst pizza experience on the Monterey Peninsula by far. The place just randomly closes on a Saturday night well before their posted closing time. I order for pick up, spend over $40 for one large pizza which is absolutely crazy. I mean other people might think that's normal but I think that's crazy. That doesn't matter. I was in a jam and I had to get my kids some food and was not able to get back home and cook because of an emergency at work. In any case, I pay for the pizza online and then I called to confirm and there's no answer. I call multiple times. I show up to the store in person at around 8:35, 25 minutes before they are supposed to take their last order, and the whole place is dark. The next day, I am assured by the person I speak to on the phone that I will be refunded. Later on that day, I double checked to make sure that's true and it looks like they withdrawn the money from my bank account. So I called back and the person I speak to on the phone refuses to give me their name, they take absolutely no accountability for the situation, and offer absolutely no solution. So I spent $40 on pizza I never received, I was completely unable to get the attention of the manager, and my wife, and I both had to endure rudeness, extreme rudeness from their staff. When I walked in to restate my reasonable request to no avail, the person on staff was recording me on his phone. I don't get it. I'm the customer and I've already spent money and I still haven't received any product from them. It's nothing personal. When you're closing well before you posted hours on a weekend night, when you've got some cockamamie ordering system that you've built into your website, when you can't be accountable to your customers that spend money or even polite, you deserve the bad reputation that follows.
