Oh. My. Gosh. The Greek Gyro Salad was to die for! Hubs and I walked over to this food truck for lunch as I was feeling salad-ish. The pictures looked promising so we made our way over. The truck is parked in a nook with other food trucks and as plenty of benches to eat around. The only con? There are flies everywhere. We walked over a couple of blocks where we found some tables to eat outside of the Trader Joe's spot. The gyro meat was flavorful and juicy. The salad was topped with the perfect amount of dressing and toppings (onions, tomatoes, and olives). Hubs ordered a wrap and scarfed it. I was picking at his fries which had ketchup and white sauce drizzled over them and they tasted great. The staff was friendly. Packaging was clean and presentable. And most importantly, the food was delicious.

Decent option if you're in the mood for gyros where they do plates, wraps, over hummus, over salad, or over French fries. We tried the chicken salad and the combo plate over fries plus a side of hummus. The hummus was a bit bland but paired with the other dishes it was okay.

French Fry Soup: too much sauce!!
    Mary L.

They drowned my lunch! I started with the fries, which were nicely packed in a little box, which was smart because this was basically French Fry soup. There was so much sauce, the fries had gone completely soggy by the time I got home. I switched from fingers to fork, then gave up. And I rarely give up on fries! Meanwhile my BF was working on the hummus, which he said was "bland" and "weird." He is super picky about hummus, so I gave it a try and had to agree with him. It tasted to me like watered-down tahini, and slightly metallic. No hint of chickpeas, lemon, garlic, etc. I moved on to my Combo Wrap. At first, I tried to eat it like a burrito, as God intended. But She never met as wet a gyro wrap as this. I ended up putting it on a plate and actually blotting it with paper towels! Once I'd done that, it was better, but it was all so soggy that after I'd eaten most of the salad part, I put it in a skillet to crisp it up a bit. After that, it was delicious. If I go back--a big if at this point--I'll skip the hummus and say, "Don't drown my lunch!!!"

Amazing fries that came with the sandwich

So much flavor and such a reasonable price. You get a hefty, flavorful sandwich on pita PLUS fries with delicious sauce on top all for $9. You can't find a better deal and better food for that amount. HOWEVER, the menu is not exhaustive about what ingredients they include in the sandwiches. If you don't like raw onions (like me) or perhaps peppers, beware that both of these unmentioned ingredients were in my sandwich.

Gyro overstuffed and the meat was sooo tender! Such flavors! Red and white fries to die for. Baklava extra sweet with honey hit my sweet tooth just right. Cheesecake was small for the price but the richness made up for it. Favor delivery was fast and affordable. This is on my favorites list.

Excellent chicken and rice plate. Chicken is well seasoned and rice is sublime. Must be cooked in a rich flavorful broth to make the rice this good. Hummus is good but a little on the grainy side. Couldve used a piece of pita for the hummus.

    fried mozzarella sticks

Inconsistent for me for delivery - food wise. I've ordered the fried mozzarella sticks twice and unless you know how to bring back their golden crispiness on your stovetop, they're kind of a wash. The last hummus batch I received was rancid. And not the first time I've found it inedible, which is a shame because I'd like to think this part of my order I'm thinking about my future self and how I'll want to snack on this, so I'm always so sad when that doesn't come to fruition. Love the pita and love the plates and salads. Always a mountain of food slathered in all the right kinds of sauces.

Ordered ahead for lunch and was able to pick up my food right away even though I was a few minutes early. The person working the register was friendly and accommodated my request for extra rice instead of salad that I put in through the app. The portion size was great for the price, including generous serving of chicken compared to the amount of rice. The chicken was pretty juicy, but not super flavorful. The white sauce was creamy, but I was surprised the hot sauce didn't register more flavor; even after I asked for extra it still only gave a mild flavor to the dish. Overall, a solid spot for a filling meal, but nothing spectacular flavor wise.

    Beef Shawarma plates
    Carmen L.

It wasn't terrible. We ordered the beef shawarma plate and the rice was a bit under cook. You could tell right away (visually) by the tightness of the grain -- that and the fact it was semi transparent which is what undercooked rice tends to look like. The beef was a bit salty but aromatics were there. My husband and I are new to Austin but have been struggling to find authentic ANYTHING. Was really hoping this restaurant could've filled the void but we'll keep looking.

Plan ahead or use rideshare if you can. Service was great--attentive and smooth throughout our meal with two adults and two kids. We ordered the whipped feta spread (excellent with the pistachios and oil; the house bread was a bit salty), Brussels sprouts (cooked perfectly), grilled chicken kebabs, the shawarma-spiced steak frites, and the grilled Branzino. The Branzino was the clear star of the show--flavorful and well-executed. The chicken and steak were mediocre at best. For dessert we shared the sticky date cake, which had a nice crunch outside and was warm and moist inside. It's a bit pricey (we paid over $240 for the four of us), but the setting, strong service, and that excellent Branzino make it worthwhile. I'd definitely come back.

I put in a to-go order for a kibbeh wrap; the price seemed typically high for the area, but when I got my order its quite a sizable wrap so all-in-all a pretty good deal! The food did take about 20 minutes to come out- I wasn't going to complain as there was a line of people the whole time so I could tell it was busy, but when I did get my food they apologized for the wait and gave me some free baklava so even if there had been hard feelings that would have 100% fixed it lol I'm a huge baklava fan and had actually been considering adding some onto my order but didn't because of the long line! So service was great, but most importantly- the food! The kibbe wrap was huge; I managed to finish the whole thing but in two different sittings lol. The kibbe was generous, and the pieces were flavorful and juicy. The veggies were fresh and crisp, and the whole thing was lightly sauced but the flavor of the kibbe popped enough that I didn't think it needed more sauce. Delicious and I would 100% order again. Plus the (free!) baklava was top notch! Sometimes you get the ones where the filo dough is a little tough/chewy and it still tastes great but the texture isn't there- not with this baklava! It was tender, delicious, and a perfect end to the meal. Parking was limited on the street but I believe the Triangle has garages also- I was able to snag a short term parking spot for MezzeMe which is actually why I originally decided to check it out!

That was what they decided was better. Got a tomato and cucumber salad. Enormous pieces. Very bizarre. Like Game of Thrones for a giant pieces. Knife needed on every piece multiple times. Also the tomato was a colorless, flavorless cheap, giant basic tomato. No pretty grape tomatoes, or heirloom or anything. It was pricey. I brought it home to feed the deer. My daughter wanted fries and I was worried about how hot they'd be...no need! The place was so cold they chilled before we got them. I don't know how to do that"), and the cocktails while tasty didn't really feel special enough to be $21-25 each. It was a very enjoyable experience I just don't know that it lived up to the price tag. For that price I'm looking for exceptional not just very good. That being said the food was delicious! Pricey but pretty good portions. The server said the mixed grill was good for around 4 people, but with two apps it was actually a little too much food for the 5 of us. Mixed grill ($220): -Rosewood Wagyu Strip and Lamb Chops: tie between these two for the best dish; they were both juicy and tender and the sauces were delicious. Not served piping hot but they were so good I didn't really mind. -Harissa Marinated Beef Tenderloin: great flavor- a tad dry. -Spiced Lamb Kefta: also dry, I liked it best with the yogurt sauce. -Red Pepper Chicken Thigh: delicious, one of my fav kabobs. -Herb & Garlic Shrimp: tasty and not overcooked -Charred King Trumpet mushroom: loved the veggie option! they mushrooms were substantial and the sauce was great. -Crispy Shallot Hummus: very good- loved the crispy shallots in particular! -Manti Dumplings: top app- I would 100% order this again the dumplings were delicious and the sauce/yogurt on top of them was the best, we wiped up every drop with the pitas! -The pita bread was hot, fresh, and delicious and our service kept on offering more, so I don't know if they've changed their policy but my experience was not the same as reviews that said only one pita per person. We refused extra pitas 3 times I think! Cocktails- everything we tried was quite good, but again there wasn't the pizaz or just 'blown away by the flavor' to feel that the crazy price was totally justified. We tried: Spanish G&T (very refreshing- don't chew on the juniper berries lol), Banana Bread Old Fashioned (pretty good even for someone who doesn't much like whiskey!), Bonfire on a Beach (fun, smokey, love the harissa on the side), Peach Martini (teensy bit sweet for me but good). The manager stopped by a few times to check on us and our server was very attentive. She did give us good service its just for the high price I would expect some more detailed suggestions on drinks, being able to split the check other than 50/50 (or at least ask someone instead of just saying 'I don't know how'). It was friendly and enthusiastic service just not 'wow this truly is fine dining' service. Outside of the restaurant, parking is a bit of a pain but that is normal for down town. We parked at the Laz garage half a block away- $8 for 2 hrs instead of the $27 for valet.

Came here on a Saturday for brunch/lunch with two friends after a meeting. The restaurant that was…read morethere before was a regular stop for me. Seeing how it was transformed into The Greek Bar made my heart smile. I couldn't believe how they had transformed it, especially the outdoor seating area. A little oasis off Oltolf. As soon as we got there we were greeted by one of the owners. Daphne was all smiles and instantly made us feel at home. She was so informative, you can tell she had a passion and was very proud of her restaurant... Rightfully so! We started with some cocktails... My friend had the Gin and Tonic, I had the Old Fashion... Very nice and our other friend had the lemonade. Even though it was an afternoon in July... The outdoor area was very comfortable with the fans blowing on us and the natural breeze coming through. The menu was explained to us and she gave us recommendations. Both of my friends got the Lamb Kefta skewers... What a beautiful plate.. All the vibrant colors. I ordered the Greek Fried Chicken. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was feeling adventurous. The menu description was Greek Style Fried Chicken with Loukoumades ( Greek Style donuts drizzled with honey), slaw and house made pickles. Another stunning presentation. I tried each item first separately and each item were both delightful and unique. The Brine of the Feta Marinade Chicken that was crispy but light and so tender inside with the sweetness of the donuts and topped off with crunchy slaw that had a great dill and fresh taste to it, all came together. Think Chicken and Waffles but Greek Style. From beginning to end, it was an absolute treat. Perfect place for a date, girl's night out, an important occasion to celebrate or just want to treat yourself. The Greek Bar is a great representation of what is South Austin.... Comfortable, Corky and just a Great Vibe. I look forward to coming here for Dinner, exploring more of their menu and treat myself to another great cocktail. A gem for sure!

Cute atmosphere, good food and delicious cocktails…read more 3.5 stars - My group had the Evia Fizz and Greek God Bless You cocktails - both delicious. While good, the spreads are a bit underwhelming compared to similar Greek restaurants in the Austin area. Similar thoughts on the skewer and rice (not pictured). Inside is adorable but loud. Cute date spot but not good for yapping; it was hard to hear girlfriends over music and bar noise. They do have a patio with fans.
