I believe this is the only full fledged Filipino bakery in the area, so it's awesome to see such a great selection. Pianono Ube Roll ($9.99) - After purchase, we took a seat at one of the cafeteria tables to try the roll out. This roll is essentially an ube flavored swiss roll, deep purple in color, but smashed until flat. This seems to be due to how soft the roll is - usually I find swiss rolls denser to stand up to slicing, but this one is so soft and moist there's no way to slice it up without the structure collapsing. It's moist, fluffy, full of ube flavor and isn't too sweet. Unfortunately the quality of the ube roll is suspect. We purchased this on a Saturday afternoon and there was a sticker on the box labeling it best by the following Wednesday. On Monday morning there was visited mold growing all over, so only a day and a half after purchase. It was sitting on table with all the other baked goods and it wasn't obvious that it had to be refrigerated. (2/5) Spanish Bread ($8.99) - I used to love eating the warm, buttery sweet Señorita bread from Starbread bakery down in the Bay Area. They were so delicious, I literally could eat an entire box of ten in one sitting. Seeing it here, I had to pick a box up. San Honore's version is much larger, probably 2 to 3 times the size I'm used to. The bread is hard and dense and it's less golden brown in color and more pale. Breadcrumbs dust the exterior, while the interior is filled with a slightly sweet and dense paste. It's quite dense all around, nothing like the sweet "crack fingers" as my friends used to call them at Starbread. (3/5) Taho ($7.99) - The Taho is served piping hot in plastic cup. It's so hot that it actually melts the plastic and gave me a nasty burned tongue on my first sip. I actually saw another customer come up and ask them to fill up her own metal tumbler - probably the smarter idea. In terms of the drink, there's a super sweet minerally brown sugar coating on the bottom of the cup, followed by plenty of silky and soft tofu, filled with beany flavor and a bit of sweetness. It's very easy to suck up through the straw. The final ingredient on top, a bit of soft sago pearls (there's a sign that states tapioca pearls, but these are definitely sago). The tofu is clean tasting to start, but after an hour or so when it starts to cool down some of the off sour notes come out. There's no way it's gone bad in that amount of time (and it's not an unpleasant sourness), so I wonder if it's from the coagulant being used to make the tofu. (4/5) San Honoré Panaderia is a bit of a mixed bag with questionable quality. There are still a bunch of items I'd love to try but I'm not in any hurry to revisit.

The prices are very reasonable, especially considering how generously they fill the containers they serve in. The service was excellent; the staff were friendly and patient while I made my selections. In the end, I went with an ube bread, a cheesecake, and a savory pastry with meat inside.
