Hmm... what happened to the chicken francese??! It used to be our favorite! The chicken was so silky and tender, and the white sauce was delicious and lemony. It was a perfect dish, not overly buttered or heavy, far better than most Italian restaurants. Then, about a year or so ago, it changed. The chicken became drier and tougher. The sauce less lemony. We've tried it several more times since then, hoping that they had an off day, or that the chef who made it so beautifully was away, but the dish never went back to the version that we loved. I stopped into the Gemelli Gourmet Market to grab some lunch. I ordered a grilled Chicken sandwich, and I grabbed a seat outdoors. Gemelli has a nice outdoor area, and a large parking lot. My sandwich was very good. The Chicken was tender, and the Mozzarella was high quality. Now for the bill. I thought that $13.99 for the sandwich was fair, but $3.99 for a can of Iced Tea was a bit steep. I'll be back! read more

The "roast beef" sandwich I ordered ..the very middle cut in half... *Look at my pics* There is literally no meat in it.. the lettuce is actually thicker than the meat, the LETTUCE!!! Their catering as well as holiday meals and or additions have always been fresh and delicious Probably 70% of our dinners are a result of food purchased from their meat and fish offerings. Gemelli Gourmet Marketplace is an underrated Italian Deli located in the town of Glen Head. It surprises me that this place doesn't have a line out of the door on weekends, but there isn't much happening nearby, so that might be one of the reasons. The only comparable deli in the area is Kitchen Kabaret in Roslyn Heights, but I personally feel Gemelli's is a much better deli. As soon as you walk in, there's a butcher, a sushi bar, a salad bar, and endless amounts of prepared foods from cold to hot. They also have a nice assortment of Italian goods and desserts. Prices are on par with every other deli on the north shore of Long Island. However, Gemelli's quality of food standouts against its peers. The restaurant has a nice indoor dining area and a nice outdoor dining area in the summer. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend it stopping by to give it a try. read more

Recently ordered catering for my daughters 1st bday party and from beginning to end Gemellis did everything great. From excellent customer service to the amazing food 10/10 would recommend to everyone. The food was so good I had friends and family coming up to me all day asking where we ordered from. The only thing wrong was that I wished I ordered more Rice Balls and Potato Croquettes because the trays were gone so fast I didn't get to have them. Other Highlights include: Marias Fussilli Salad Pollo Hero Chicken Parm But really everything was amazing. I even had a cousin tell me it was the best Pasta Salad they ever had. My review doesn't do the food justice. If you need to cater a party and want to wow all your guests Gemelli Market North is the place for you. read more

Amazing and my Go to Spot! I've must have came here atleast a dozen times. The food is always good and I have no complaints whatsoever. The soups are hot and delicious. The sandwich menu is out of this world! The salads are great and they have a sushi chef on site if that's your thing. Most importantly, the meat quality is awesome. 5/5 for the meats! Bob is fantastic, organized, and very friendly. There's this one other guy my age (25-28) who is very helpful all the time as well. Conversations are always pleasant and I feel like I'm family here. I have taken a break from Gemelli's for the last 6 months or so. I found that my orders were always wrong and deceived to get lunch elsewhere. I went back to today, very hopeful! I ordered a BLT with avocado on a wrap with light mayo. I kindly asked the man behind the counter to make the bacon VERY well done and crispy. I think that is very common request. When I got back to work and opened the wrapped sandwich, I was greeted with mayo oozing from the sandwich with bacon that was literally like rubber. And no tomato. This place has gone downhill unfortunately. It used to be great, but not anymore. I feel bad for the bad review, but people need to know. read more

I like the idea of Gemelli more than I actually like it. This was the worst fresh mozzarella I have ever had in my life. The consistency and overall taste were both horrible. Very bad experience at the deli counter as well. They ran out of regular Boar's Head ham so I couldn't even get a half lb. The Boar's Head turkey that was given to me was the small pieces from the end and cut double the thickness I asked for. Overall not a good experience. read more

I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with avocado and a chai tea latte with almond milk. Do not recommend, it was syrup and not tea and tasted like poison. As for the sandwich, it was well made and the avocado was nice and green. My sister ordered the special which was avocado toast, the description read as avocado toast with olive oil salt pepper and chili flakes on toasted bread with Parmesan slices. What came out was half an overly toasted hero with a small amount black avocado that was warmed and spread thinly on the bread for $7. We weren't sure if the person behind the counter didn't know how to make it but it was inedible. The place is cute and the staff is nice I'd recommend ordering ONLY Italian classics from here do NOT order the avocado toast or chai tea if you're a tea lover. read more

We just recently moved within walking distance of Gemellis and it has become our routine to go here multiple times a week. Bob the butcher, and the entire family that works there, are immensely personable and helpful. My wife loves the acai, and I have yet to find anything that wasn't outstanding. We absolutely love Gemellis and hope that more in the community continue to support them through this tough time. I look forward to the day my daughter is old enough to apply for a job there so I have an excuse to be there multiple times a day! Also, Bob makes incredible custom order sausage. Gemelli's recently catered both our engagement party and bridal shower and both experiences were amazing! The service was top-notch and the food was amazing! For the first party, highlights included the Pepper Steak, Rigatoni Gemelli, and Oriecchiette w/ Broccoli Rabe & Sausage. These were all phenomenal and I'm getting hungry just typing that out! For the second party, we went with Smoked Salmon, Fusilli Primavera, and Jumbo Shrimp. These were all excellent as well. Went for the first time 5 days ago and I've been back 4 times since! The food here is SO GOOD. I work down the street and a friend recommended their sandwiches for lunch and we were not disappointed. My father has gotten the açaí bowl twice and was enjoyed it both times. Today I got a bunch of prepared food for an easy dinner and lunch for my husband for the week and everything is delicious. Deli review. Got a sandwich today before heading to tappan beach. Not only was there a pound of cold cuts on my sandwich but also a pound of mayonnaise. I'm not sure if I'm in the minority here but I don't like a lot of meat on my sandwich and this honestly had to be a pound of cold cuts. And the mayonnaise was just a complete mess. Wasn't busy so it wasn't like they were rushing to make it. Next time I get a sandwich elsewhere. Food looks good inside and the store is great, so I'm generous with my stars based on that. read more

During Covid I discovered this gem in Glen Head. The butcher is a doll and will cut, pound the cutlets just like they do at a Brooklyn butcher! Certain vegetables have to be well cooked and some don't. Grilled Raw eggplant was not good in our sandwiches. The black skin was not edible. If it is busy, they rush your order and I guess they don't make it the way it should be due to understaffing. This is the second time I was disappointed here. The cafe has amazing drinks that are made with such finesse, the iced caramel latte puts Starbucks to shame and the skinny water makes me feel healthier every time I order it. I've tried a few of the signature sandwiches and loved each, the bread is heavenly. The Fire Island is my new go to. The salad station is excellent with a ton of choices and the prepared foods are fresh and phenomenal. I ordered a small catering order from them as well for two of the party heroes (Red, White and Blue & Napolitano - love the names!), both were the best I've ever had and came with large portions of salads. Cannoli are not overly sweet which is so hard to find on the Island. I love that they employ local kids as well. I cannot say enough about this place. My husband and I were so happy to have a local gourmet market within walking distance of our house. We had loved Bernard's and were sad when this site was empty for ~3 years. When we saw Gemelli's 'coming soon' sign on the building we got excited - and when they finally opened their doors we just had to go in and check it out first hand. What a great place!!! Everything was fresh and we were super pleased. The eggplant "meatballs" were to die for (I've never even heard of them before!!!) And they quickly became one of my favorites. My husband loves, well, EVERYTHING, but especially the shrimp - they are super fresh, de-veined, and there is no odor to them at all...they are amazing delicious. So, when my husband and I were hosting a 10 person dinner party at our house we immediately thought of Gemelli's to cater our party. They were still new to the site and still in the process of a 'soft opening' - so I asked them for suggestions for our party. Patricia (I hope I spelled her name right!) was amazing to work with. She recommended an antipasto appetizer, Manicotti, Chicken Florentine, Spiral Ham, and my husband and I wanted their roasted Brussels sprouts because they are amazing! I just found out that this store will be stopping their teacher discount as of September 1 for all non North Shore Schools teachers! How horrible is it that management feels a teacher is only a valuable customer if they work nearby. Forget about all of the hard working teachers that live in their community and have clearly been supporting their business. Teachers everywhere support children and families, what difference does it make what town they work in. We all work hard for the benefit of the kids. So fitting that it is right before school starts as the teachers in the community spend their final days of summer prepping. I suppose they discontinued this because there were just too many teachers that enjoyed their store. No matter. You now have one less coming to pay you a visit for any reason now. read more

A really nice place for lunch that has a diverse. Selection of good food to choose from I chose. Lobster ravioli in pink Source, that was absolutely delicious. And fairly priced on the other hand their shrimp bisque soup was horrible, It was too salty. And it wasn't good consistency and no sign of any shrimp and over priced for $7 for a small cup. The good news is the variety. And quality of the food is good. They even have a sushi bar and sushi chef. read more

I can't say enough about this market. We hosted a BBQ for Father's Day with 40 people and Gemelli did all the catering. Everyone raved about the food and they also offered staff help. I hired the staff help they recommended to grill and serve. Everything was perfect. Professional and I was able to enjoy my own party. Gemelli has a summer BBQ package that was simply perfect. Everything from the meats to the sides and plenty of everything. I did not have to worry about anything. I highly recommend them for all meals.
