This is just a fun little new place that I'm so happy we discovered! This is definitely the place I wish I read more about before going though. So they have a very limited menu. Few chicken "sides" and apps, and the entree is you pick from a ton of different pasta types and a matching sauce. My friend and I each ordered a pasta and then we shared a piece of the vodka chicken parm. I think if I was to do it again, I would do we each other a chicken piece and then we share the pasta. The chicken piece is around $10 and huge! My lemon fuscilli pasta was out of this world. One of my favorite pastas. My friend got rigatoni with red sauce and added Calabrian chillis. I have ordered here 2 times. The first time I ordered takeout of the bolognese sauce on top of rigatoni, which was really good. It was nice for the winter time. I wanted to try it again since everyone raves about it. So I decided to dine in this time. It was dead during the day. There was a lot of staff. Our waiter was not paying attention to us really when we were the only people there. Which was a little frustrating, otherwise he was nice. I ordered the limone on top of fusilli with a side of ricotta. It was really good. They make their pasta fresh. The tortellini with roasted garlic was really good as well. What a fantastic meal we had at The Pasta Joint- I read some positive reviews but the experience was even better than expected. When checking in with the hostess, we had a twenty minute window to walk around the block and window shop in the great downtown of Huntington proper. Before long I received a text saying our table was ready. We were promptly seated and our server came straight away to take a drink order. The menu is easy to navigate and fits on one page. Pick your pasta, pick your sauce and it's prepared exactly as you would hope for. Pasta was cooked perfectly and each of our sauces was delicious. Mrs me had a salad but our daughter loved her meal and I did as well. So much so that there was nothing left to take home. Pricing was more than fair considering the tastes and the service. I can't remember the last time we ate so good for such a low cost. There is both outside and inside seating so there are plenty of tables. Or you can sit at the bar and watch your meal being prepared. Sound levels were about average and the decor was very classy. I can't wait to return on our next trip downtown. I love these types of rustic pasta spots. A simple menu that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket and the handmade pastas were delectable. The meatballs with a side of ricotta was a highlight for us! Would give 20 stars if I could. They are making fresh pasta on the spot and you can create your own dish however you want. 17$. Not a bad price for fresh pasta. The even better deal is a chicken or vodka parm for $9. And it's a big piece. In these times where everything is super expensive, you really appreciate when a restaurant does these sort of things. The location is perfect--right in the center of everything--and it worked out well since we had movie plans afterward. They don't take reservations, which was the biggest downside of the night and why I didn't give a full 5 stars! The menu is small, both food and drinks, which I personally love because it usually means they focus on doing a few things really well--and that was absolutely the case here. My husband and friend ordered the aglio e olio, and if you're a garlic lover, this is the pasta for you. Perfectly balanced garlic flavor, not too oily or creamy, and honestly I regret not ordering it myself. It was so good. We also had the chicken Milanese and crunch to perfection. I ordered the bolognese, along with another friend. It was tasty and satisfying, though not particularly unique. A solid classic, just not the standout of the night. We also shared the minestrone and the burrata, and the burrata ended up being one of the best I've had! The burrata ball came out crispy on the outside, as did the bread it was served with. The tomato cream and Parmesan were perfectly balanced--rich but not heavy. Overall, this is definitely a spot I'd come back to. The food is great, the menu is focused, and the flavors are on point. Excellent pasta! Had some Pomodoro deliciously hand made and their meatballs were fantastic. Its a little small and cramped for my liking. It might be because I'm a bit tall and like a little more space but I will get through it for a good meal. Then again, I would endure quite a lot for good food. Its one of my many many super powers. I had been wanting to come here since I saw them working on it. We finally stopped for lunch one day, and I have to say, we will definitely be back. It was amazing to see how the inside was transformed from the prior place. I really liked how it is decorated. It's an artsy feel, but still very nice. The staff was very welcoming and had no problems moving people to a larger table if requested (it also wasn't too busy, so it was possible). We started with the meatballs and, as seen by the photo, they were so enticing I forgot to get a photo. All I could get was the bowl wiped clean. They reminded me of my moms meatballs and the ricotta and sauce perfectly balanced to give some tartness and sweetness. I will absolutely be back for them because wow. For our pastas, we got the funghi with fettuccini and bolognese with spaghetti. I really like that you can pick a sauce and pasta shape. The price also is great, especially for the quality and amount you get. They brought our dishes and came by with parmesean, always a plus. I really enjoyed the funghi dish, but did wish they used an earthier mushroom like a cremini and wanted the sauce to be little bit creamier (just personal preference). I am not a fan of bolognese, but this one was very good. The meat was seasoned well and the only complaint is wishing there was more sauce, but that just means I have to come back and get the Pomodoro or Amatriciana. Tables for two are way toooo small - should not be round - so good luck fitting all the tableware and dishes! Just dumb for no reason. Pastas and sauces are good ! But sides are really built for sharing ( this is a good thing ) as long as you're not eating by yourself! Main downside is lack of bread and butter option ! Ice in water would also be a great addition. Service is very good and accommodating,. It would be nice having a simple piece of bread with butter with your pasta as this is not an option! I don't usually like to write negative reviews, but I've sat on these thoughts for a while and maybe something positive can come out of them for this restaurant. It's a nice place , and the food was pretty good. The pesto was weird to me because it was a cooked, creamy pesto. Pesto should not be cooked. The pine nuts are toasted, but the rest of the ingredients should be raw and combined in a food processor. The mushroom sauce was good and the bolognese was very good. The problem we really had was with the service. We came late, about 30 minutes before closing. The waiter clearly wanted to go home shortly and was visibly annoyed when we didn't order immediately. The whole meal felt rushed. My feelings are that if we're too late for a dinner service, just let us know. DON'T get annoyed if you let us in and let us order. That's my biggest gripe. Hopefully, if we ever go back, we wouldn't have to feel that way again. read more

I am going to use three words to describe my dining experience at Pasta Joint: Warm, Welcoming, and Delicious. As an Italian myself, I am skeptical when it comes to eating Italian outside of my home but, as a foodie, we give everything a chance. I wont say that I happened upon perfection but as far as food that didn't come out of my Nonna's kitchen, it came pretty damn close. As it was a busy Friday night we opted for a seat at the bar, fine as there was only two of us and they sat us fairly quick. The restaurant had a very charming ambiance with the string lights and rustic accents. Our waiter, Francisco, was on top of welcoming us and getting us started with drinks. The menu set up was honestly amazing. Five price points only; you have your salads, appetizers, sides, desserts, and most importantly, the pasta. We skipped appetizers because the sides really piqued my interest. After a glass of the table red it was time to order. For me: Buccatini Amatriciana with the Fried Burrata side. For my boyfriend: Rigatoni Pesto with the Chicken Parmigiana side. Let me just say, for a busy Friday, the food came QUICK! Take note others: Small menu and fairly simple prep by focusing on your core competency makes a difference. We were presented with two generous bowls of pasta, two large chicken cutlets, and a burrata ball that was complemented by some fresh rosemary focaccia and vodka sauce. The key word for this food was fresh. When you take a bite of Italian food you should taste the love that went into making it. Make no mistake, there was years of love and care put into these recipes. Fried Burrata: Im a sucker when it comes to cheese. If you say you're not, you're lying. I don't particularly think a burrata ball needs to be fried. When it cools it gets a little rubbery and hard to cut into. That aside there is not much else that negatively impacted it. The sauce complemented it nicely and the best part was scooping up the mixture of gooey cheese and savory sauce onto the perfectly crisp focaccia. (Bonus points for the flakey salt) Chicken Parmigiana: When I saw this as a side I was not expecting the massive portion in front of us. It was a whole meal. I may have put it on a flat plate so as to evenly distribute the mozzarella but taste-wise, it did not disappoint. The cutlet was nice and crispy and the sauce was perfectly balanced. I think it's hard for restaurants to hit that balance when producing in such large quantities but they got it right. Buccatini Amatriciana: This was a delicious plate of pasta but for me there were a few points it didn't hit, but I think they are solely based on my own tastes. Don't get me wrong, the sauce was delicious. There was a slight zing from the pepper in each bite. I would have loved more of that zing on the tongue, but I am heavy handed when it comes to pepper. The thing I missed most from this was the salty pancetta flavor. It did not come through for me. I was hoping to get little pieces of it in the sauce but it seemed to be missing in action. Still if you tried to take this bowl away from me, we would have fought. Rigatoni Pesto: This was the star of the night. The fresh rigatoni had the perfect al dente bite to it. The flavor of basil and pecorino made my taste buds sing. The freshness was incredible and the way the sauce clung to the pasta made every bite more enticing than the last. If I had to give some constructive criticism I would have asked for more pepper, but again, I'm a pepper fiend. In all we had a great meal and will definitely come back for more. I always say that word of mouth is the strongest weapon for a local spot and I am ready to go to war over this one. Very well done. We are looking forward to working our way through the menu. First the good, large portions that can be shared....huge chicken parm side dish,,,nice decor, nice waiters and owner comes around to make sure you enjoy your meal. Now the Bad, we ordered a side of focaccia bread and it took over 20 min to get...unacceptabled The worst thing though is you walk in and there is a heavy smell of bleach. Asked the owner why they use so much bleach to clean and was informed that the smell was coming from the adjoining gym spa next door. I personally think if they dont fix that they will lose alot of customers...was difficult to enjoy the meal with that horrible smell to be honest.. lastly both me and my daughter got sick from the food...many bathroom runs and she vomited as well.
