So a year after I took my car to ACR for repairs from my accident in May 2012... I noticed on the hood of my car that the paint had been bubbling and peeling, as well as, rusting! Since I have a life time guarantee for the time I own the car, I took it back to see what they can do, My husband arrived and spoke with Carols. We thought we'd get push back at brining the car in for rust and paint issues (since that can be seen as normal ware and tare). However, my husband said they did not even argue it! My husband said the " Carlos was awesome". Carols told my husband the whole hood needed to be replaced. My insurance only approved a used hood after the accident. Which is supposedly normal on repairs like this, the only time insurance will approve new parts if the car has 15,000 miles or less. With all that being said, the soonest Carols could get a Honda hood to the shop would be August 18... Here's our dilemma, I'm moving to California August 6. SOOOO Carols was awesome, working effortless to track down a hood. The draw back is (BUT NOT TO CARLOS FAULT!) He could only get his hands on an after market hood...which he reassured my husband the only way it's known to be an aftermarket hood is that under it, it won't say Honda but another name. SOME people might be pissed at that, but I couldn't push back my travels to California and PLUS I've already come to terms I'm driving my car till it dies because it's very difficult to get a good payout once the car has been in an accident! We had to wait a day for the hood to come in and as we speak (write), they are working on it. He said at latest it will be done Saturday (3 day turn around). I CANNOT COMPLAIN since we brought it in Tuesday! SO ONCE AGAIN NOT DISAPPOINTED with ACR and pleasantly pleased with their no hassle, amazing customer service! I was in an accident that decimated the front driver's side of my Nissan Rogue. I'm sure it was a lot worse than what they usually see here, but Carlos was transparent in explaining the estimate he gave me. He went above and beyond to wait with me--almost an hour!--as we tried to contact my insurance company. My repair was delayed by over a week because of communication problems with the insurance company but both Carlos and Rebecca, the receptionist, were very reassuring and patient whenever I called. I dropped my suv for repair and I can honestly say that the interior was a total disaster. Two young kids and you can easily imagine the type of mess they can create. When I got the suv back a week later, not only was the damaged repaired perfectly, but they totally cleaned the inside of the suv! Talk about service! They take care of you. Generally, body shops are not a place you want to find yourself. I selected ACR after reading the great yelp reviews, and now I have my own to add! I was hit by an armored truck which caused a bunch of damage to my minivan's rear bumper and door, taillight, and an annoying exhaust rattle. Carlos himself put together my estimate, which happened to be mid-way between the three I got altogether. I felt he fairly captured all the possibilities especially since the exhaust was a bit of an enigma, and he was the only one who actually took the time to put the van up on a lift to see what might be going on with the exhaust rattle. Those five extra minutes he took won him the business. I should add that I'm 38 1/2 weeks pregnant, so he understood I had some urgency to get this repair done before I delivered my baby. I really felt like he took special care of me. When I called a week after getting the initial estimate to get going, he was ready for me when I asked him to be - he ordered the parts, and everything was ready to go on the day we planned. We planned on a 4-day work timeframe, and they coordinated a minivan rental for me which was really convenient (did I mention, 38 1/2 weeks pregnant??). He even transferred my kids' car seats from my minivan into the rental van for me! Imagine my surprise when he called me the very next afternoon to tell me my van was ready! So basically, a rear-end bumper, door, taillight, exhaust clamp, and all the paint and bodywork took a total of about 36 hours, out the door. He came in right at his estimate on the final bill. Unfortunately I have been involved in a couple of accidents over the years, the most recent one was in February of 2018. It is never enjoyable to to get into an accident but when you do it's nice to know of a repair shop that you feel you can trust to do a quality job and treat you with respect. Just 2 months after getting my brand spankin' new Nissan Altima, I got rear ended. Suffice it to say...I was a bit upset. I'm a USAA customer and had good dealings with Gerber in Palatine and was going to have my car repaired there again. I'm decided to check on the Web to look for another estimate and I saw that Nissan has a network of certified body shops across the country and noticed ACR on the list. Having the Nissan certification really caught my eye and I made my appointment directly after my appointment with Gerber. The guy at Gerber strangely offered that he was new there and just needed a few extra minutes compiling the paperwork. Anyway, after looking at the car..the new guy estimated what I thought was a low amount. 10 minutes later, I meet Carlos at ACR and about 10 minutes after looking at the car not only was the estimate more, but he found damage that the other guy didn't see!! I was sold after that and set up repairs right then and there! Brought the car in on Tuesday morning and got it back Saturday afternoon. The communication and follow up were outstanding. The quality of the work...superior! Even though ACR does not have a direct relationship with USAA, my future body repair needs are going to ACR without hesitation and all my referrals as well. I recently had my SUV in for repair after being rear ended, which is never a pleasant experience. Dan, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure that the entire process was as seamless as possible. He dealt with the other guy's insurance from start to finish, worked with us on dates and ordering parts so we would be without our car for as short of a time as possible, and completely delivered on my car. It looks brand new, which was especially important to me considering it was only a month old when it got hit. I hope I am never in an accident again, but I know if I am I will be taking my car back to ACR. I couldn't be happier with the service and product. read more
