Went today for an estimate on what I was hoping was very minor work. An elderly gentleman (I believe the manager), came outside, took a look and said "be right back". Came out with a bottle and squirted something on the car, rubbed with a towel and the paint damage went away like magic. We had brought in my dad's Volvo, which had some scrapes and dings and had sat in a garage for almost two years after he went into the nursing home. The previous winter water pipes had burst in the garage which caused the ceiling to fall on the car, leaving stains in the paint from where the drywall dust had dried on it. Auto Krafters was recommended to us by Wheeling Auto and did a great job. LOVE LOVE LOVE this business. We have used them several times and each time they do an excellent job, are very reliable and HONEST. The drivers door on my 5 year old Honda Pilot broke and Honda Dealership wanted to charge us $900 to fix it. While our warranty had expired, I still felt Honda should cover this type of issue on a 5 year old car plus they had a previous class action lawsuit for this problem. Auto Krafters fixed the door in a few hours and only charged me 2 hrs of labor; saving me $800...... I was a moron and drove my car into a much bigger car than mine at a stop light. 10 years with no accidents or tickets, and one moment ruins it. I filed my claim and found Auto Krafters by searching Acura's website for bodyshops. I took a shot in the dark because I wasn't even sure that Acura even kept those listings updated. After some back and forth with insurance, I decided to have Autokrafters handle the roughly 6K in body and frame damage sustained to my car. They worked with my adjuster to make sure that all damages were covered and the car was repaired with only me paying my $500 deductible. It took them about 10 business days to complete the repairs once the adjuster approved them, which seems about normal. When I picked up the car, it looked better than it did prior to the accident. All the repairs were made and the paint and body work looked very professional. Throughout the process, it seemed as if AutoKrafters cared about their reputation and customer service. I can't vouch for the cost involved. It's not my area of expertise. Luckily i had an adjuster with a quality car insurance company working with me. I'm just glad to have my car back. They give a lifetime warranty on repairs as well, but after 5 days of driving it appears things are holding up well. I would recommend. read more

UPDATE: APRIL 5 2019: Car collision to the rear-end of my CRV required extensive repairs. Was in their shop for over 2 weeks. Picked it up last week and it looked brand new. At this point (a few days in) the paint job, replacement parts such as the rear hatch etc. all work and look great. Further I had some tree sap on the front of the car and they removed it; real nice. Further the car was very clean inside and out; even the tires were sprayed to look like new. Moreover I had a large ding on the passenger side rear door and it was touched-up; also a bottle of touch-up paint was left in the front console for future use. I was advised they have a lifetime warranty on their repair work. Very happy with these guys. Could have taken it a lot loser to my home but it was definitely worth the extra travel. Recommend them! Ask for Jason. ---------------------------------- ------------- -------------------------------------- I had just bought a new CR-V when some juvenile delinquents shot their BB guns damaging my passenger door, and trim. At first was not going to do anything since I didn't want a bad paint match for a few small holes. However it was pointed out that the panel might eventually rust and cause further damage. So being concerned most about the paint match and blend (since repairing a few holes was not the issue) I searched almost 2 months and finally came upon AutoKrafters on Rand in Palatine (near Kildeer.) UPDATE:What I liked was 1). they used water-based paint, and 2) their website content and how they expressed that they actually 'gave a damn' (so to speak) about achieving the best possible outcome for each customer.
