Bought a 2001 Mustang GT. Did my research with other websites to determine THIS WAS THE ONE. Had great miles and photos looked good. Almost perfect (it's over 20 years old). Was looking at a 1994 GT, but that one was sold when I came in. This is a specialty dealership. You have to know what you want and be ready to buy. Cars do not last long here. Great price and I checked it out myself and no issues. After purchase I took to a local ford dealer to double check anything I missed and they found some issues I need to keep an eye on. This did not alarm me (again, researched the model I was buying) as I knew some potential issues with the car I was buying from other mustang owners with the same car. The car only had 80k miles on it and the Ford dealer said it was in great shape. No pressing issues and it was good to go. If you know what you want and know what to look for in a car (knowing there will be minor defects on an older car or a car with high miles) this place is easy to work and does have good cars. read more

I was looking for a reliable, affordable VW Golf and saw that Auto Gallery had a red 2010. I contacted them and spoke with Bob to make sure the car was still available. It was, so I made an appointment to go test drive the car. I took the car for a drive and liked it. Bob showed me the carfax so I could see the car's history. I made an offer and then accepted their counter offer. I then worked with Steve who took care of the necessary paperwork. The whole process was very straightforward and quick. They really deserve 0 stars. Do Not buy a car from this place, Sebastian is a scammer and the owner Peter is even worse. I bought a car from them in April 2023, 5 weeks after buying the car I noticed cable ties underneath my car holding up a panel that had started to come down. I also began to hear noises when the wheel was turned to the right from the inside of the car. After taking the car to mechanic last week, they put the car up in the air and showed me that it had been an accident, both the right front axle and right control arm were broken and caused the sound that I was hearing. Sebastian sold me this car knowing full well that it had been in an accident. When I called him last week to inform him of that the dealership quoted me over $10,000 worth of damage when I just purchased it from him not even 2 months ago, he stated I can just take it to their mechanic to do the repairs because he's sure it didn't really cost 10,000 to fix everything. Basically admitting that he knew this car had all of this damage and was unsafe to drive but failed to disclose this to me. Also, I have an extended warranty with my own credit Union to cover repairs. I'm so happy I did that because you never know when you will run into a scam artist selling you trash like Sebastian and Peter. These people need to be put out of business. Obviously I refused to take my car to their repair shop, who I'm sure did the temporary fix to begin with and covered it up with cable ties. Peter stated because I didn't take my car back to their repair shop to be looked at it there is nothing he could do. Might I add, they were Not willing to pay Anything for it to get to the repair shop. Nothing for it to be towed, nothing for a 3rd diagnostic fee after I had already paid for 2 at 2 different shops that both confirmed that Sam and Peter are terrible people selling trash cars like the true trash they are. They wanted me to take my car to their repair shop and pay their repair shop to fix my car, Sebastian stated he would not give me anything for my repairs. Peter also told me today that they will not pay a dime, very unreasonable trash people. Of course they would take advantage of a black women. I actually read in the reviews today that they did something similar to a white woman but at least offered to pay half of her repairs after selling her a car that was also involved in an accident. Peter refused to pay anything toward all of the repairs my car still needs. Obviously a warranty will not pay on maintenance work that was never performed. I'm still responsible for that completely out of pocket. Still leaving me with over 5k in expenses for what my warranty won't cover. I tried to be reasonable with Peter and Sam even after this terrible car deal but they were unwilling to even meet me halfway. I was a cash buyer. I paid them in Cash, they literally received a check in Full to pay for this vehicle the same day it was picked up and this is how they do business. The Absolute Worst. I fully intend to retain an attorney to seek payment for all repairs in full. There is no way I'm letting them getting away with taking advantage of me in this situation. I was reasonable asking for just half of the repairs. Now I need it all in full and will not stop until this is made right. Do Not do business with this people. There are no quality cars being offered, run while you can. This is a complete nightmare ongoing situation, just an all around headache. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. I had a positive experience with Auto Gallery and my salesman, Steve. First of all, buyers should have the right expectations. This is more of a specialty dealership with a curated selection of cars. I would not go here to browse, rather if you find something online (autotrader, carguru, etc) then come in for that specific car. They offer lower prices, but without all the frills of a big dealership (don't expect coffee/donuts, ice cream, free oil changes, and the best detailing around, etc). I found a car I was interested in, at a price I couldn't beat online at other dealers. After talking about the car for 15-20 minutes with Steve, we went on a test drive. We negotiated a bit, in a no pressure and reasonable way. I took a day to think it over and I bought the car. It was due for a service (like I said, no frills here), but it was under warranty and jaguar covered the oil change/maintenance for free and after the 72 point inspection - the car had a clean bill of health and looks and drives great. Jaguar dealer service team even commented on how new it looks for a 3 year old car. I would give it 5 stars, but like I said it wasn't a "wow" experience.. more of a good price on a used car that fully checked out. On September 20, 2023, I visited the Auto Gallery Chicago dealership in search of a car. After I test drove a Hyundai Tucson, I realized the power windows did not work. The salesperson took the Hyundai Tucson to the repair shop and brought back a 2011 GMC Acadia from the repair shop. During the test drive of the Acadia, I was informed that it had only been in the repair shop for an oil change. I requested to take the car to a mechanic, but was denied, though offered to take it to their affiliated repair shop AAC Auto Clinic, Inc., which I declined due to concerns of bias. I purchased the Acadia from the dealership for the sum of $8,100. At the time of purchase, the Subject Vehicle exhibited a mileage reading of 122,723 and was accompanied by a 15 day, 500-mile warranty. Despite being assured of no issues with the car prior to purchase, the check engine light came on after driving for a few days. At this time the mileage was at 123,079, which was under the 500-mile warranty. A scan at AutoZone and an inspection at Firestone both identified a timing chain issue. In my opinion, I believe they sold me a car purposely that had issues. I drove my other vehicle to the Auto Gallery Chicago dealership so I did not go over the 500-mile warranty. My intention was to return the car. The owner of the dealership responded dismissively with "This is not Walmart." I continue to attempt to have the issue resolved. I returned to the dealership a third time with my wife. During this encounter the owner of the dealership agreed to repair the car at their repair shop. Following the repair by the dealership's affiliated repair shop AAC Auto Clinic, Inc. and an inspection for Uber, I did not receive a receipt for the repair conducted on the vehicle by the repair shop. Upon requesting the receipt from the dealership owner, I was informed that I would need to pay for it. Despite my request, the owner insisted on charging me for the receipt documenting the service performed on the car. A month later, I noticed unusual noises coming from the vehicle, prompting concerns. Despite the absence of a check engine light, the noise gradually intensified. On March 21, 2024, I sought a second opinion from Moberg's Auto Repair and was told it was a timing chain issue. On May 8, 2024, I decided to have the timing chain replaced at Moberg's Auto Repair. During the repair the mechanic noticed severe engine damage directly related to the prior timing chain issues. At this point, I decided to not proceed with the engine replacement at Moberg's Auto Repair. Despite these expenses and efforts to rectify the issue, the car remained inoperable, leading to significant inconvenience and financial burden. Do not buy a car from this dealership. Do not sign the Arbitration Agreement. I am currently suing the Auto Gallery and if you are a consumer and are a victim of deceptive business practices its time Peter Alvarez is held accountable for his criminal behavior. Join me and start a class action lawsuit. Remember there's strength in numbers and I can see that a lot of you fell victim to shady practices conducted at the Auto Gallery of Chicago. You are not a vanilla secondhand dealership selling soccer mom vans, teenager wheels, and worn out SUV's. You have taste and class in your inventory and offer stellar deals. I came for the Mini Cooper. I got the Mini Cooper, a decent cup of coffee, and good conversation. Refreshing, because this is the eighth vehicle that I have purchased (deals spanning four states) and the simplest transaction to date. The three gentlemen that run the office have been there a while and take great pride in what they do. We were given a tour of the showroom, as facts and tidbits of information flowed from our salesman's mouth. It was interesting information and much more than scripted lines regurgitating the Carfax and consumer reports. Listen up, Mainstream Dealerships: High turnover and inexperienced salesmen are two big reasons people hate and mistrust you. If your employees are unhappy it will show. AGC does not have that issue. The owner is approachable and professional. All three gentlemen mentioned a little about their families and acknowledged my fifteen month old. Nice touch. Word to other customers: this is a business, not a place for you to fulfill your dreams and test drive a Ferrari on a Mini Cooper budget. Act like an adult and you will be treated like one. Buyer beware! I purchased a 1989 Chevy Cavalier from these guys back in November, they represented this car as in good condition. Mind you the car looked good with low miles from an original older owner. Took a gamble after talking with Steve and had it shipped here to NJ, then the fun began! Note the sarcasm! Expected some repairs due to vehicles age, we're classic car people and can handle pretty much anything. What I can't handle is getting a car that had bad gas, bad oil, bad fuel pump, bad oil pump, didn't drive strait and could barely make it around the block, and that's the short list! We got the car in November, so repairs were limited due to the cold weather. As we started to delve into it, was much worse than expected. At this point had several conversations with Steve stating my dissatisfaction, there is NO WAY that they didn't know this car had/has serious issues before loading it on a trailer to NJ! We have spent 6 months, thousands of dollars, hours of wrench time and the bottom line is the motor still needs to get pulled due to low oil pressure! BUYER BEWARE! I bought a car from Auto Gallery Chicago this past November. I experienced engine failure the SAME DAY it was purchased. The dealer was legally required under warranty to fix the problem. I don't believe they actually worked on the car, because within a day of getting it back the check engine light came on. At this point I was still under warranty. The owner agreed to take another look. Out of curiosity - I pulled the check engine code at Advance Auto Parts before the dealer diagnosed it. Then I went to the Auto Gallery Chicago and waited while their mechanic pulled the code. Auto Gallery Chicago turned off the check engine light, then lied which code they pulled (claiming it was residual from the initial issue and the car did not require further work). I know they lied because when the associate that dropped off the car to the mechanic returned to the dealership, he told me and the owner the actual code - which matched what Advance Auto Parts pulled. The owner then "corrected" him with his lie and continued to elaborate on the lie after he was confronted. Since their mechanic cleared the code and would not offer a printout or image of his reading, there was nothing I could do before the warranty expired. I've had to bring the car in for maintenance 3 times since purchasing 7 months ago. read more

I called at 430pm to verify the car was still there, then made the 1.5 hour drive over. The car was gone, and apparently had been gone since before I called. Great remote car buying experience (I'm outside the Chicago area). I worked with Steve, he was very responsive via email, text and phone and was very professional and low pressure. When we were nearing a deal he gave me thorough, detailed answers to questions I had on the paint and body condition and also helped get the car over to a local mechanic for a pre-sale inspection. I waited one year to the date from purchasing my BMW 328i X-Drive Wagon from these guys so that I could comment both on the buying experience as well as the car holding up. Executive summary: I'm a satisfied customer. The experience was quick and easy. The car was as good a deal as I could get. Moreover, the car has been flawless for 12,000 miles and has had no issues after two factory "check-ups". No lemon here. I'm originally from the Chicago but currently live in Vermont (thus the desire for a wagon like all the other weirdos here). After an exhaustive online search over the course of a month, I had nailed down what I wanted and the fair market prices. As it turned out, the pricing and availability for wagons is far better in Chicago, and this was one of the two best deals I could find in the country on a low-mile, still under factory warranty, well-optioned 3-series wagon. I walked in without calling ahead, told them what I was interested in looking at, and was taken directly to the car. Clearly this car is one of the least exotic/interesting cars they carry, but it made no difference. I inspected it and was invited to take a test drive. I test drove it around the area and returned soon after. I wanted to check out one other similar vehicle at a dealer down the road, did so, and after finding they had mis-advertised the price (aka had advertised 10k less than they were willing to sell for!), promptly returned to the Auto Gallery. I told them I'd take the 328i wagon and after a credit check, a bit of financing through the bank of my choice, and forking over a check I quickly owned the car. Everyone was straight-forward, friendly, and reasonable. They didn't suddenly change the price, try to sell my on accessories or extended warranties, or promise any B.S. There was little room for haggling but that was only fair. I was advised to take it in for a "check-up" seeing as how it was still under factory warranty, which was on the one hand unsettling (was there something they knew about and wanted the dealer to take care of?) and on the other quite reasonable as I was practically going to do so, regardless. I drove the car back home and after a Vermont winter, two factory maintenance visits (the initial just after purchasing and another after 10k miles), the car has had zero issues with the exception of a punctured tire (which I know that I purchased it with - the tire was flat when I first inspected the car and had a nail in it) that was a $10 repair. There were plenty of negative reviews I had to consider before buying here, but a common theme appeared to be individuals showing up to test-drive big ticket items (AKA Bentleys, Porsches, etc.) without any clear evidence they intended to buy. Maybe some of those experiences were mis-judged, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. read more

We came here today because we wanted to buy a new car for my husband. We checked out the infinity g37 coupe. We liked it a lot! I told my husband that's the perfect one for him, because he had Mercedes amg before that. We asked Steve if we can do a test drive. He was like talking to us with an attitude: "are you sure that you gonna buy it? Or you just want to compare it?" It made me mad. Because he was not interested to show us the car. I am sorry I didn't check their reviews before purchasing a vehicle from these people. Everything was going fine as I was interested in a classic car they had for sale. I viewed it on eBay and contacted them to have the car inspected. The vehicle was inspected and a list of defects and concerns we documented. I spoke with Steve Brady and I was only concerned about the brakes not being operational. Hr said he would have them checked and have them functioning. A couple of days go by and I was assured that they only needed adjustment. We made the deal and the vehicle was shipped to me. Guess what. NO BRAKES. The pedal went right to the floor. The delivery driver had to use the emergency brake to stop it. Inspection of the brake system revealed bad master cylinder, wheel cylinders and leaking lines. When I contacted them all I got was they were fine when the car left and it is being sold as-is. We are not fixing anything. Also, the odometer was not functional. (So much for low mileage). Do not buy from this dealer. This is long and I apologize in advance for its length, but this writing may be my final way to hold this business accountable. I purchased a 2003 BMW 745LI in mid December 2018. They sold me a car with no heat (in the middle of a cold, Chicago winter), and then Peter agreed to fix it, but then decided not to because he later claimed that they didn't have to. This is after he assured me verbally when I left the dealership that "he would fix any problems and for me not to worry". I met with his mechanic, and even they were not confident that the heating could be repaired with just one part or if more extensive labor was required. In any event, my car mechanic found major issues with two gaskets, a power train component, as well as the car having heat problems that might be connected to a faulty computer panel. Over the past three months (Dec 2018-Mar. 2019), I have sent documents and emails to American Express, consulted with legal counsel, engaged with BBB of Chicago, and the State of IL Attorney General office and they all left me with a final option to resolve this dispute in court. Auto Gallery implied warranty does not follow IL state guidelines, their document showed me 2 pt typeface (teeny tiny point size). His statement is not conspicuous, in my interpretation as specified under (815 ILCS 505/) Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. A sample section is included below. "(h) An agreement for the sale of a used motor vehicle subject to this Section is voidable at the option of the consumer, unless it contains on its face or in a separate document the following conspicuous statement printed in boldface 10-point or larger type set off from the body of the agreement: "Illinois law requires that this vehicle will be free of a defect in a power train component for 15 days or 500 miles after delivery, whichever is earlier, except with regard to particular defects disclosed on the first page of this agreement. "Power train component" means the engine block, head, all internal engine parts, oil pan and gaskets, water pump, intake manifold, transmission, and all internal transmission parts, torque converter, drive shaft, universal joints, rear axle and all rear axle internal parts, and rear wheel bearings. You (the consumer) will have to pay up to $100 for each of the first 2 repairs if the warranty is violated.". He reluctantly fixed the gasket, after I had the car towed back to the dealer because it would not start, while a large puddle of oil rested upon my garage floor as a reminder of its defectiveness. He never sent any documentation about the repairs to American Express who was holding the money in their accounts, and then they closed the dispute because Peter and/or Auto Gallery never responded to any of their questions. After several attempts they simply closed the case, crediting my account. This is what the owner of Auto Gallery wrote in his last email to me " I am going to call the police and make a police report for thief and grand thief auto." He in fact filed a police report. Today, on a late Friday afternoon, Mar 15 2019 an Addison IL Police officer called me with a tone that suggested that I needed to pay for the vehicle, irrespective of the American Express and to provide a cashier's check to the dealer. The police suggested that I could then proceed to court. As an aside, I did not find the BBB consumer complaint review process nor State AG office citizen complaint process helpful in mediating this issue. In fact, neither entity to my knowledge, took my alerting them to possible poor business practices that did not seem to follow St of IL deceptive practice laws with any seriousness. I will now have to take this dispute to court, when both BBB and Office of Attorney General office, could have at least, reprimanded this business for its poor business practices. Again, this is my opinion at this point but at least BBB sent me an email with how to file a small claims court case. I started this communication with the hope that you will read all of this and not buy from this dealer. And some of you might think of me as a fool, naive, or something of this ilk, but I liked and trusted, Peter, Steve, and Sebastian. They were friendly, affable, and kind when I met them. I even brought up the prior reviews I had read on YELP, and they tried to address them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I don't blame myself for trusting them, and don't really blame them because they are probably struggling financially to care for their families. I am working on forgiveness, but hope that no one has to experience what I have experienced with a business that I trusted. read more

So I seen bad reviews on this dealership, but I feel sometimes people can over react sometimes. So I decide to look at a car there. I found a car that I liked , and I purchased it on a Wednesday. I took possession on the following Thursday. Didn't drive it again until the next Wednesday one week after purchase. The altanator went out on it. I understand it happens. Heres my problem. It's under warranty by law for 15 days. It cost me $1310 plus a tow to get fixed. I'm just getting blown off. They have no email besides car gurus which I sent. My sales guy I bought from is zero help by saying talk to Peter the owner. Umm, yes can I ? Good luck. Now for the big thing that bothers me. When I brought my car to get repaired , they checked computer of course and they asked if car has been in a accident? I said no shows clean. But it shows it had airbag deployed. Great, there goes my resale on this car. So yes, I should have listened. They don't care, they don't stand by their by law warranty . Of course I will be contacting BBB . Very disappointed read more

Recently bought a 2005 Mini from these guys and had a great experience. I live an hour and a half away and Sebastian walked me through the numbers over the phone to save me the trip, then held the car for me for the afternoon. He even called me back to clarify a couple of points with the price to make sure I understood one option would be more than the other. The buying process was quick and painless and everyone was extremely helpful. We did realize there were a couple of issues with the car after we drove it away, so I called Sebastian and he worked with me to come to a resolution that we both feel good about. read more

Walking into a car dealership is something I've never looked forward to until I was fortunate enough to meet the professionals at Auto Gallery. l called earlier and spoke with Bob who showed me the car I wanted, allowed me to test drive it, and answered an array of questions re: the vehicle. Most impressive was Bob taking me through various financing scenarios while understanding my budget parameters. I was very happy to complete the transaction the same day without going through the stress of car buying. These guys are jokes, I call in, ask to come see a car. Drive over from Chicago, and the guy won't let me test drive the vehicle as he didn't think I was going to purchase the vehicle today. Which in all fairness I wasn't going to because I was going to order a pre purchase inspection before I bought the vehicle . Keep in mind, I already have financing lined up, and have owned multiple vehicles similar to the one I was looking at, about as serious as a buyer as you can be. Came in on a sunny day during the week to look at a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550. I asked Steve if I could take it for a test drive. He replied with "you can test drive it if you're going to buy it, I don't want it to get dirty"...so how am I supposed to react to that? I am supposed to buy it without test driving it? Huh...really? In your dreams pal, go find yourself a new profession! Moreover, 2 days later I purchased a car from somewhere else that costed $12,000 more then yours. Needless to say I had a "Pretty Women" moment. Horrible! I am really glad I had the car inspected before purchasing. The car that had advertised as "perfect condition" had $15k worth of problems, including accident damage that hadn't been reported. Don't trust or buy from them! read more

We bought a used car from Auto Gallery Chicago. We had a minor issue (realized that the tires need to be immediately replaced.) I want to commend the owner for doing what was right in this situation and resolving it with integrity. He did not legally HAVE to resolve the issue - he could have ignored all of our calls or told us to go pound sand. Instead, he solved this in a very reasonable and responsible manner - showing us that he was dedicated to doing what was right. I would totally recommend this company because of that. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. I called several times to see if they had a car I was interested in. I then drove all the way out there to see the car and met with Steve. After looking it over a bit, I mentioned that I'd like to drive the car. Steve's response was "we're not really into test drives around here. If you're ready to do something we'll make sure you can drive the car". I guess they're not really into selling cars either. Sorry, but that's a major red flag for me. Who calls several times and drives an hour to see a car if they're not really interested in it? Who makes a decision they want to buy a car without driving it? Crazy. read more

Terrible place. This place looks nice and they seem friendly but when I drove my car off the lot after purchase the check engine light came out. Ran the computer on the car and came up with a knock sensor and Catalytic converter codes. On top of that I go to stop and the ABS system does not kick in. The light for the ABS system doesn't even light up when you start the car which I didn't notice because they drove the car outside for me to test drive. This is highly dangerous when you expect to have ABS brakes and your tires lock up and I went into a skid! This place sold me a lemon and I highly regret doing business with them! You must read the reviews that aren't recommended. The reviews get missed because the car people on here don't review enough places on here because they mostly do automotive. Please don't let this company trick you into regrets. read more
