This is a very reasonable price! I brought in my own oil (synthetic) & filter & they only charged me $10 bucks which was just for labor. As to compare $45 using their own synthetic oil and labor. Jiffy Lube next door is a rip, $45 even if I bring in my own oil! There was a 1.5 hour wait but it didn't bother me, just went somewhere to eat and when I got back it was finished. The only thing I didn't care for was, they weren't very friendly. I don't know if it's because I look young or what. No one told me what to do when I got there, & no one was in the office. Finally someone came just told me to park and took my keys. After the oil change was over, he just gave me a sheet to sign and that's it. I was reading other reviews and some people said they told them what they need to get done to their cars in the near future...they didn't tell me anything. It might be because nothing is probably wrong or they gave me the sheet that tells you what they did to the car. I just think they need to be more friendlier...the workers were way friendlier to a guy that came in after me. Anyways, I will come back again! read more

Updating because I'm still coming to these guys and they are still saving me money. My girlfriend was quoted $160 for a brake fluid flush and oil change, and the auto guys did it for $80. Her drivers side mirror was also ripped off, and I was quoted around $375 for the part from a couple other places. Brought it in to auto guys, and they got the mirror replacement from somewhere for $100. Consistently amazed. Props to Wesley and the team for their great service. read more

I have had a lot of problems finding a mechanic I can trust. So, I decided to give this place a try. Don, who is the owner of the establishment I believe. Hes very detailed and he seems to truly care about his customers. I had to take my car in for a timing belt and water pump replacement, and also a 105k mile maintenance. I made an appointment with Don and he gave me an estimate on when the job would be done. not only did he call to give me updates on the progress of my car, he also went as far as getting it done sooner then the time estimated. He was very upfront about the amount of money that it would cost to repair the car, what he quoted me was what I paid. He mentioned that since I was going in for a 105 k maintenance check that they could possible find other things wrong with the car, but would not fix anything until I gave the OK. He also went as far as PRIORITIZING all the things that needed to be done to car because I was on a tight budget. Overall these guys are my new mechanics, they are honest, attentive, and really know what GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. I will be coming back to these guys for as long as I live In San Marcos. I was having problems with my engine overheating and fluids overflowing when I turned my car off so I brought it to Auto Guys after seeing the 5 star ratings. They took 4 hours to call me back and say they didn't even run a diagnostic and they'd need to keep it a few days to see what was wrong. They also mentioned that it was probably an issue with my head gasket and it would take 4 days of labor and 1400-1800 dollars worth of repair. So I brought it to the toyota dealership to get a second and HONEST opinion and there ended up being no issue with my head gasket but instead I needed a new radiator which is only going to cost me around $250. This place is a scam and a waste of time. read more

Auto Guys were going to charge half that price for the same work. They checked it out and my brakes are fine, they still have half a life left in them. They advised me of this and charged me nothing.
