My husband and I found what seemed like a great deal on a Dodge Charger through cars.com, which led us to Auto Hub. The car was priced about $7,000 lower than comparable models... almost too good to be true. My husband stopped in, spoke with one of their sales associates, and test drove the car. Everything seemed fine, so we made an appointment for the next day so I could see the car as well. After my test drive, I was ready to make a deal. And that's when everything fell apart. Once we sat down to finalize the numbers, the dealership began adding one questionable fee after another: a $2,000 "mechanic inspection" fee, $1,750 "commission" fee (which we were told was a discount from their normal $2950 fee), plus the standard taxes and DMV costs. Then came the biggest red flag: we were told that if we wanted to pay cash, we'd have to pay an additional 5% fee to make up for the "kickback" they lose from their financing company. The only way to avoid that fee was to finance the car through their preferred lender, with a limited down payment, and an obligation to carry the loan for at least 3 months. In 20 years of buying cars, I've never been told that I must finance a vehicle or that I can't choose my own down payment amount. It's misleading and feels like a scam. To make matters worse, 24 hours later the dealer actually called to tell us that the car had been "sold." The same car that had been sitting on their lot for over 90 days suddenly vanished right after we questioned their fees. It all feels incredibly slimy and shady. Bottom line: the price you see online is not the price you'll pay. Expect around $8,000 in added fees, pressure to finance, and questionable sales tactics. Buyer BEWARE. read more

I almost expect the car to fall apart after reading all of these bad reviews! Saw a jeep listed on their website. Came to test drive but chose a different jeep than the original one we came to see. Worked with Adam and he was honest (for a car salesman). They pushed for us to increase our down payment and pushed for the sale. But in the end we closed the sale with a lower down payment, lower monthly payment and lower interest than originally discussed. Will they talk circles around you, yes. Did we pay higher than the web price, yes. But go in there with your head on a swivel and ready to walk away if necessary. We did have an issue with the vehicle where the secondary battery needed to be replaced. We were referred to an auto mechanic shop they work with and the battery was replaced. Do NOT BUY FROM AUTOHUB in NJ. They were happy to sell me a used car and promised a 30 day warranty and guaranteed the car would pass inspection. I paid for the car in full and drove it off the lot. Then I waited 3 1/2 weeks to get the title to I could get the car inspected, so when I took it in to the DE MV it failed. I had the codes pulled to find 2 code issues I had to fix to get past inspection. I called Auto Hub 14 times, and was lied to, blown off, ignored and in the end told the warranty did not cover fixing the car and that the Guarantee to pass inspection was only for NJ inspections! They do not keep their word or promises and are a shady company, deflecting and ignoring hoping problems go away. Turns out the car had shotty work done and had a wire cut for the antilock braking system, then they attempted to fix it with electrical tape instead of replacing the part.
