An unequivocally awful business. Where to begin? How about the fact that they knew we were coming from out of state and neglected to tell us that a bank check was needed until the day of, as we were on the road. We were so so lucky that our normal (out-of-state-specific) bank had one singular location that required only a minimal detour. Other information withheld included a fee to ship the plates back home. Fastforward to post purchase, a mere TWO drives later, the truck did not start. Dead battery. How are you as a dealer not going to check the battery of an 8 year old vehicle? Absolutely unacceptable. Can't get any worse right? WRONG. How about an inability to contact amanda or kyle (our rather bland sales guy) for over a week. The whereabouts of the plates: a mystery, and the status of the paperwork: unknown. It's crazy how the communication fluctuated from such a keen eagerness to make a sale to radio silence to your own negligence. It quickly became the day before the expiration of the old tags before kyle finally answered the phone. It turned out they had the plates just sitting there the whole time but "did not have our phone number in the system." Complete BS. Even if that outright lie held any truth, it failed to acknowledge the fact that he had been blatantly ignoring countless calls and numerous emails that were merely inquiring if he could accomplish the small fleet of doing his job effectively. We tried to return the vehicle and hoped the people there would understand our situation. After leasing a couple vehicles @ Malouf Buick/GMC some time back over 15 yrs ago. I then began leasing over 12-15 yrs with the sister dealership Chevy. The end of November 2020 after careful consideration I decided to stop leasing & return to Malouf Buick/GMC to purchase a 2017 certified preowned Acadia. The staff are professional, helpful & friendly but unfortunately I have encountered a few issues during & after my purchase. I'll only mention the vehicle issues. I've taken the vehicle for service on the brakes 2x for the squealing noise that still squeals from (new rotors/brakes installed before resale). Some issues with the CarPlay connection/ screen has gone blank sev times possibly a electrical shortage waiting for the part on that to come in. Ystdy getting ready to go to work and the vehicle didn't start. Ystdy had to buy a new battery because the diagnostic test @ the dealership showed the battery went bad . The Mgr did mention he'd allow for a $25 discount off the labor cost. But I'm a little frustrated because I'm told the battery is part of the wear & tear and not covered since the bumper to bumper warranty recently expired The vehicle wasn't a hooptie I spent a little over $30,000.00 including tax & tags. Ive had the vehicle 2mths and why did the battery go bad so fast? Wasn't it checked as part of the certification? What about the squealing brakes? Do I have to now replace the "new brakes" that were installed prior to putting the vehicle out on the lot for sale just to avoid the squealing noise?? How much lubricating can you do?? How much will that cost now?? Maybe I should have just spent my $30,000 elsewhere and gotten a newer vehicle. I wanted to support my local dealership especially since I've been leasing thru the Malouf family over 17 yrs total. Am I wrong for venting??? What's next to go wrong on the vehicle?? I work hard for my earnings and I don't have a couple hundred dollars every time i go to the dealership. I should have just bought smthg else and brought new. It's a real shame that I need to waste my time with this, but poor customer service and having my integrity questioned is not something I'm willing to tolerate. Due to our growing family we were on the market for a three row SUV and decided on a 2016 GMC Acadia Denali. We entered into a lease in May 2016 at Malouf Buick-Gmc in North Brunswick NJ. For whatever reason, even though the SUV was brand new, it needed to be washed and cleaned. I was told that I can bring back the SUV for a free detailing since they owed me. The car was due for its first scheduled maintenance this week so when I brought it in I mentioned that I was owed a detailing. I was told OK and was given a loaner. When I returned the next day, to my surprise, the car was only washed on the exterior. When I brought this to the attention of the service manager he came back outside with DwVaughn Browne, the salesman that we dealt with. The first thing he said was he could not honor a detailing five months after, and that I should have brought the car back the following week for the detailing. I replied, "You never specified that I needed to bring it back by the following week". I escalated the issue with his manager TJ, who also said that they would not honor the detailing. On top of that he said, "How do we know that the car was not cleaned when it was given to you". Apparently this manager seems to think that it's acceptable to question a customer's integrity. Why the hell would I lie about that? I proceeded to ask him, "TJ, would you consider an Acadia (Denali Edition) a top of the line, prestigious vehicle?" He said "Yes, of course". I replied, "Then why am I not being given the level of customer service that one would expect having leased a prestigious vehicle?" His reply, "The prestigious thing to do was bring it back the following week for detailing". WHAT?? Finally, the General Manager steps in and reluctantly agrees to have it detailed. He told me to bring it back tomorrow. I said "Ok good, I'll be in the area tomorrow anyway so I'll drop it off, but I'll need a loaner." He tells me that detailing only takes 30 minutes, he's not giving me a loaner, and that I'm pushing it. 30 minutes for a detailing?? Wow, what a joke! Their customer service is atrocious, better yet borderline comical. Keep your free detailing, Malouf. If this post dissuades even one person from doing business with you, I'll be happy. read more

I wish I would've read the reviews before wasting my time driving to this dealership. The place was empty- no customers at all. I should of walked out at that moment but we were looking for a deal. A salesman finally walked over to us. He didn't bother even introducing himself. So we tell him we already know the car we want and would like to run the numbers. We sit at his desk. 1st question: do you have your license? We hand it over. Still doesn't bother introducing himself nor does he ask for my name. 2nd question: do you want leather? I said I would like it. He said ok I'll be back. Still no introduction, he didn't even crack a smile. NO EXPRESSION AT ALL. I never met a "SALESPERSON" that had absolutely NO personality, NOTHING. He comes back and gives us an over inflated number. Now, we already went to a few different dealerships and they were all in the same price range. This guy gave me double what everyone else was offering. We said that price was crazy!!! He said to go to whichever other dealer gave you a better price. I had to yell and scream to get it done... Are they kidding me?? My truck is brand new just needed an oil change and tire rotation, which they didn't rotate the tires! I've visited a few different dealerships in search of a SUV. New if the price is right, used if the condition is Good and with a warranty. Malouf sales showed me a few models but I wanted the vehicle to include an entertainment package, sunroof etc. The salesman pointed to the 2013 Toyota Sienna, it had everything in it with 47,900 miles. Not bad, Price wasn't to bad either. When i mentioned, maybe i should go to Toyota for a Toyota vehicle, the salesman assured me they do a 5 Star inspection, its fully under warranty. There will be no problems getting it serviced there. So I financed the vehicle. ONE MONTH LATER the check engine light comes on, I take it to AutoZone just to see what code comes up. IGNITION COIL. I take it back to Malouf,, they kept it overnight, and when i picked it up, i was told it was an OLD CODE, which to me means it has happened before I became the owner. I was told they changed a cylinder it should be fine. 2 WEEKS LATER i am bringing it back to Malouf for the same problem. This time they changed another cylinder and performed an oil change and cleared the code hoping that would fix the problem. I got to drive it for a 3 whole Weeks before the engine light came back on and on my way back to the dealer it sounded like my wheel was about to fall off. there was aloud thumping noise while driving. Called their service department and was told i should be okay driving it there, just drive slow. This time for the very first time, I was given a loaner. The thumping noise was a strut that needed to be replaced and for the Engine light Code, you guessed it, another cylinder was replaced. It stayed 2 weeks at the service center, for this trip. Its now the Christmas Holiday and I am going away. Since the engine light is ON AGAIN for the 4th time, I preferred not to travel in fear, I took it back to Malouf. I ended up getting a loaner and the Van stayed at the service center for 3 1/2 weeks. I go to pick it up, I am told everything is okay the code is cleared. I asked, please do not just clear the code but fix the problem and they said they did. I started the car, the engine light was not on, i took the van out of gear, and POPS on the engine Light. Since it was late evening, service asked that i bring it the next day. After the van spent 2 more weeks in service i was able to drive it for almost 2 months without the Engine Light being on. When it came on again, i was told there is no loaner, we will call you when one arrives so you can bring it back it in. I did not receive a call back. I took ill and did not drive the van for a month. I called again and now I am told, We cannot fix it. It's foreign to us, you know we are Buick and you have a Toyota, if it was a Buick it would be no problem. You have to take the Van to Toyota. I was not happy, The Van has been to service 5 times, for the same problem. Its been with Buick more than it has been with me.THEY SOLD ME A LEMON!! and now i have to Pay to take it elsewhere to be fixed. I cannot pass inspection with the Engine Light On. The worst move i made was to walk into that Dealership that day in August 2016. I am definitely seeking the LEMON LAW for this. BE WARNED, DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE from Malouf Buick if it is not a Buick. DID I mention that MAINTENANCE REQ'D light is now on in addition to the Engine light!!. read more

I felt Malouf GMC was a little deceptive in their sales practices. We negotiated a final sales price but they failed to disclose to me that a $750 GMC loyalty discount was included in the negotiated sales price till the paper work was drawn up two days later due to Memorial Day holiday. In essence what I thought I was paying I was then paying $750 more. Also, they initially told me I didn't qualify for a credit union membership discount. Then, when I arrived at the dealership to pick up my car they told me I qualified for the discount yet discount never applied to my price (they kept the discount?). I questioned the salesman Mike Cozzo but never received a reply from him regarding my concerns. To think of it I was a repeat customer. Definitely, not going back and wouldn't recommend dealership and will bad mouth them to others. read more

My complaint is with the service department. My wife took her Verano in for a tire repair and came out with a $600 repair bill! OK, the tire needed to be replaced and that was $200. But, she was shown a 50,000 mile service at a price of $189. They performed a 30,000 mile service and charged $255. Can we say bait and switch? Oh, and then they added more charges for oil change, tire rotation, and so on. But wait, those services are all included in the 30,000 mile service. Can we say padding the bill? Even better, the car is a certified pre-owned so some of those services are covered under warranty! They did show another line for warranty dexos service at no charge, how nice. So according to the bill, they changed the oil three times, rotated the tires three time, changed the filters ..., you get the picture. Did she challenge the bill? Yes, and was told to pay or she couldn't take her car. No explaination of the bill, just the mafia response PAY ME! I hope the service advisor chokes on his commission because it's the last time this horror show of a service department will ever see us! read more
