I received information about Auto Masters from another small business owner in Belmont who stated he uses them. I was looking for body work on my 2000 Toyota. I called to set up a time for an estimate. I pulled into their driveway which was very busy and the owner George greeted me almost immediately. He took a quick look at the car for damage and assured me he could do the work and informed me he would need to take a few days to get parts and then he would call with estimate. A week later he called and his price was competitive so I dropped car off. Approx a week later George called me to pick up my car. When I arrived he walked around the car with me showed me all work and I have to say it looks fantastic. I am very happy. We also discussed replacing my rear deck lid hatch. My story begins over a year ago. Unfortunately My 94' Miata had gotten broadsided by a car that was backing out a spot in a parking lot. The damage was was significant enough to where I was not even able to open my door fully on the passenger side. Suffice it to say I wasn't looking forward to the insurance and repair process. What makes me a ongoing customer is the wonderful service i recieve and all my cars have been completed in a timely manor weather it was an insurance claim or something out of my own expence. Ive had 3 cars completely painted and they all came out great! The painter works magic with his spray gun, Candys, Pearls, Metalics, flats, and blend jobs no job is under or over looked at! I very rarely write Yelp reviews, but the wonderful experience I've had with George and his team at Auto Masters prompts me to! Taking a car to the shop is never a nice process, but George and his team eased my mind and went above and beyond. My car was hit while I was parked, and the person who hit my car did not leave a note. I called Geico and they have a deal with a nearby autoshop. I was initially fine with taking my car into that autoshop, until I read its Yelp reviews. Some comments were very concerning, so I searched for another option. Thankfully, I found Auto Masters in Belmont, and took my car in. From the get-go, George was extremely understanding and reassuring. The process was quick and painless. He worked responsibly with my insurance company to make sure that I'll be taken care of throughout the process. George pro-actively communicated with me to provide updates on my car, finished the job in less time than estimated, and on top of that, provided a little extra fix-up on other dents in my car, just because he cared!!! I would like to start off by saying first and foremost that Auto Masters did a great job on the truck with fixing the scratch for the body paint. I also saw other vehicle upon arriving that were being well taken care of. However, the owner was extremely rude and very minimal when it came to the explanation of charges. I feel like I have been gotten over on. So let me give you the run down, I tapped the back of someone's car causing no damage on my vehicle, but a scratch, literal scratch on the other persons vehicle. Me being honest and hopeful offered to pay to cover it. The other person had picked Auto Masters as their shop. I was sent photos of the process as it was getting repaired. Prior to showing up I asked how much it would be, twice, and never got a response. When I arrived I was told it would be basically $500, remind you it's for a scratch to be repainted. I was told it took over three hours to take the bumper off this truck, so it caused over 300$ in labor. I feel this is not true because in previous accidents (myself not at fault) I had body damage on my car side door where they had to take both the doors off and the hood and it was about 3 hours of labor, so it just doesn't add up to me. When I asked more questions I was told " it's the computer that comes up with the pricing " I said well you input the info into the computer so that isn't an accurate answer and I just received a shoulder scrub.... because I had already told the person who's vehicle I was paying for that I was paying today so they could pick up their car, I paid it. But I'm not happy I feel was definitely gotten over on, but it is what it is, karma always comes back around so I'm not even going to worry about it. My car window was smashed overnight and I needed the car that same day to drive to San Francisco, so I called Auto Masters-- they did not have the window to my 2001 car in stock, so the manager drove miles away to get it for me at no extra cost and had the window successfully replaced by 5pm that day. He gave me an extremely good deal, much cheaper than any of the other local shops, and did very thorough work. He even washed the car for me! I recommend Auto Masters to anyone. When I asked about the the clear coat peeling again in the future, Randy informed me that he guaranteed the work for as long as I owned the car. Truly impressed they stand behind their work. My mom took her car to have a panel repaired after someone backed into her car in a parking lot. Her 20+ year old car already had scratches on the bumper, foggy headlights and peeling paint but my mom still wanted to repair the new dent which was on the front panel of her car so we took it to Auto Master for the repair. George was very good to her and very polite. I don't see this kindness very often anymore especially with senior citizens. When we came to pick up the car I had to wonder if the car was actually ours? It looked like a much newer car and not the old car we left behind. Auto Masters did the repair as promised with a new panel and perfectly matched the paint color; not only did he do the repair, he also buffed out the peeling paint, removed the scratches on the bumper and even buffed out the foggy headlights. My car was "just tapped" from behind when waiting at a traffic light on Woodside Road by someone driving one of those "you drive" Lyngso trucks. The damage was almost $1,000, as is the price for even the most minor damage to a car these days. The guy who hit me suggested I take my car to George at Auto Masters, who was a friend of his. After being somewhat suspicious, and getting a competitive quote from another shop whom I've used before (it was within $100 of the quote from Auto Masters), I decided to go to Auto Masters and give them a try. WOW, what a great job they did on the repair AND they returned my car to me having "mini-detailed" the exterior. I hardly know where to start. I ended up at Auto Masters after my insurance company deemed my 2003 Subaru WRX Hatchback was a "total loss" after a minor front end collision (my fault). I had owned the car from the very beginning and and been diligent on all the maintenance, but it was 14 years old. Plus I loved driving the car and wanted to keep it as long as possible. First, George and his business partner, Randy, were two of the nicest guys I've met, and I instantly felt comfortable working with them. They showed me another vehicle they finished where they practically had to cut out and rebuild the side of a SUV, and it looked perfect. George was able to reduce the quotation for my repairs compared to the first shop I visited by being creative with the parts ordering, and he threw in some extras! I picked up the car today and it looked and drove fantastically. I was so happy to be back in my peppy manual transmission car after driving two different rental automatics for a month.
