Avoid Autobahn Collision Center. After damaging the charging port door on our EQS 450, we called Autobahn Motors (where we bought the car) for a recommendation. They sent us to their affiliated body shop, which quoted us about $850. We did our homework and also got a quote from Alioto's Garage in San Mateo, which was slightly lower. Still, out of loyalty, we went with Autobahn. Big mistake. About an hour after dropping off the car, they called and doubled the price to ~$1,700, claiming the EV required significantly more labor. That's something they should have known--and disclosed--before giving an estimate. Instead, it came after they had the car in their possession. That's not a revision. That's a bait-and-switch. We immediately picked up the car and took it to Alioto's. They completed the repair perfectly at their original quoted price--no drama, no excuses, no last-minute surprises. It's hard not to feel like Autobahn Collision Center leans on dealership referrals to get customers in the door, then inflates pricing when the customer is paying out of pocket. Save yourself the time and aggravation. Go elsewhere. read more

AW Collision's last wo pinched two wires in the wire and the harness that's connected to the cameras for the ParkTronic system. During the last visit, the workmanship is just gotten worse. AW Collision did say that if it was determined that it was poor workmanship on AW Collision's behalf, they would cover it we'll see. read more

I came here upon a strong recommendation of the Autobahn Mercedes management. This is the best body shop I've ever worked with. I have an upfitted Mercedes Sprinter camper van that needed some body work that included custom finishes on the siding. Chelsea was SUPERB in explaining everything by phone and getting me in quickly. She also processed all of the insurance work seamlessly. The first person I met was Adán, the branch manager. He was terrific -- he spent half an hour with me going through all of the details. He understood the upfitting, some of the customization issues, and provided a range of options. Within two days, the shop had all of the parts. Next was Gil, who ensured that everything got done. He was the estimator, but really serves as the general contractor of the job, arranging everything. The van was completed on time and on schedule. There was no cost creep. In fact, their estimate was less than other shops in the area, and they are basically a dedicated Mercedes shop. A few other notes: - They use OEM parts only. Don't worry if your insurance says "no OEM." They have strong relationships with the major carriers and will work with them to get OEM parts. - They are Mercedes Benz elite certified and BMW certified. Message: During a recent trip to Oregon, I lost the hood emblem on my Mini Cooper Sport. I called Chelsea at the suggestion of a local dealership, to see if AW would be able to put the new emblem back on the hood. She asked that I come down and they would see if they could help me out. Unfortunately, fortunately this is the second time I have come to Adan for needed repair which of not my fault. In my situation where I am clear of fault Adan takes care of everything. Deals with insurance makes sure everything is covered, uses certified OEM parts, always responsive, and is just a pleasure to work with. Quite honestly, I cannot say enough good things about the customer service at this shop. I had a VERY small repair and sent an email to their customer service department asking if they could help. Within FIVE minutes, I received a return email from the corporate office asking their local "team" to reach out to me to help me. Just 10 minutes later, I received an email from their local shop manager asking me details about my car and the repair. I immediately received an estimate and scheduled the repair for the next morning. I took my car in this morning. They were ready for me and the entire repair took less than an hour and was very inexpensive. Goods: * The car looks like new!!! * The experience was great. * Got good quotes - fast and reasonable. * My POC, Gilbert was always readily accessible on phone and would give exact information needed. His estimates for both cost and time were to the point. * Worked seamlessly with AAA and dealership. Bads: * They are a body shop, so don't fix the mechanical parts at their end. But they work with Autobahn Motors closely who handled those. * They don't have a shuttle service. Long Version experience: When my Mercedes was hit, I first took it to AW Collisions to get it assessed, know the costs and if they will work with my insurance. I went in without an appointment and received the quote within 30 mins. The car had issues with mechanical parts (suspension, control arm, etc) and cosmetic parts (front bumper). They suggested leaving the car with them, and they will work with Autobahn and get everything fixed. I didn't trust the company just yet, so left for home and contacted insurance and dealership. Later, Autobahn dealership recommended leaving the car with them first and getting mechanical parts addressed before fixing the cosmetics. Since then, things have been quite smooth. AAA took about a month to get car assessed (purely AAA issue). Autobahn took about a week to repair the mechanical parts. AW Collisions took 1 week to order parts and another week to repair and return. Gilbert was always readily available to answer each and every question. Further, my insurance wasn't willing to pay for OEM parts, so Gilbert was able to get a large portion of the difference covered for me - this was super nice of him. For future: I trust them enough now to come in directly for my repairs if needed in the future. read more

My front bumper was swiped in a parking lot and Autobahn Collision was able to repair the bumper in about a week. The repair and paint work on the bumper looks good as new and I am very pleased. Chelsea, at the front desk is very kind and is great to work with. However, my only complaint is for the detail post-repair. I take a lot of care to not introduce swirl marks into my clear coat by washing it correctly and never in a circular motion. Unfortunately, this same care was not provided during the detail at Autobahn. I picked up my car to find the clear coat covered in swirl marks that I will have to paint correct later. I would recommend to skip the detail if you are not okay with having swirled clear coat, as their detail/drying technique leaves much to be desired. read more

I rarely write reviews but the exceptional service that I received here left enough of an impression that I had to share. My car was damaged in an accident and I was stressed about the damage my 3 year old car had sustained and about the entire insurance process. Chelsea put me right at ease and within a few minutes on the phone with her, I had an appointment to drop off my car, assurance she would handle insurance communications, and an estimated timeline. I've been with state farm insurance for decades. I was involved in an accident and was recommended that I bring my car here due to it being ceritified by BMW as a repair shop. I soon learned that this means nothing. In the end, the risk was minimal to me because the insurance paid for everything, however, if I was paying out of my own pocket, I would have been very disappointed. If you do bring your car here, you are highly advised to not accept their boilerplate template terms of service and instead negotiate with them ahead of time that they will be responsible for any delays and not just "kick the can" down the road with your vehicle. As others have stated there are good and bad things about this place. As always, people like when you start with the good: 1. Assigned a personal rep 2. Lobby and location 3. Familiarity with the parts The bad: 1. You will go long periods of time before someone returns your call/email/text 2. Vague answers with not very useful information 3. The "fit and finish" of the work performed left a lot to be desired. I had misaligned BMW laser lights, front bumper grill and hood. Took to BMW and they corrected the light and said the fitment of the hood was outside of factor spec. After back and forth with Autobahn, while they were willing to fix, the fact that it left their possession in such condition was appalling.
