I brought my car here for a wash after it got filthy in the parking lot at Shoreline Amphitheatre. The wash was cheap, fast, and satisfactory and the location adjacent to the Town & Country shopping center is ideal. I had the basic exterior wash ($8.99) and paid an additional $1 for wax. It seems like a good price to me, but I'm not an expert. The location is extremely convenient. I went to run some errands at CVS and by the time I got back my car was done. The car looks much better, and since the main thing I wanted was to get all the dust and dirt off, I'm satisfied. I will say there are still some spots on the windows, so its not perfect. If you are obsessed with your car, this is probably not the place to go, but if you just want your car to be less filthy, it serves that purpose well. The guys working there are nice and they accept credit cards. There are coupons on their website for some of the pricier, more comprehensive washes. read more

Meh, they were just okay. Fast, efficient and quick, but they missed quite a few spots on the car, and they were just bird droppings! Nothing special for a car, right? Also, they did the inside and missed places on the windshield that needed cleaning. Shampooing of the rugs and vacuuming were what saved this place from me giving them 2 stars. I call this place mid day on Sunday realizing it may be busy. My car can not go through the conveyor belt and needs to be hand washed entirely. I ask the receptionist whether they have time to do a full hand wash without going through the conveyor belt and she says it's not busy, come right now. I drive 10 miles from my house to their location and they tell me they're too busy to stop the conveyor belt to wash my car. I don't even understand why they have to stop the conveyor belt to hand wash a car that doesn't even go through the conveyor belt. It's just a poorly designed system. Nevertheless, I'm told to leave and come back either right when they open or at the end of the day. I return 20 minutes before they open the next day and I'm the 3rd car in line. The manager comes up to me an says they're too busy to wash my car because they will have to stop the conveyor belt to wash my car. Again this makes no sense as my car is too low to enter the conveyor belt. He tells me to come back 10 minutes before closing. What are the odds that if I do that, they are going to tell me that they are closing in 10 minutes and don't want to stay to hand wash my car. Finally before I leave they tell me that they will wash my car right now if I pay double the fee. I don't have time to keep coming back so I pay them double to wash my car. This is definitely unethical and bordering illegal. I think they do a fine job running cars through the conveyor belt like an automated factory but anything else that requires human interaction is suspect. Beware, the managers will take advantage of you. I use to love this place. I use to love the idea of someone else just taking care of my car's cleanliness. The last time I went to Auto Pride, I decided I could do it better myself. I was a big fan of the online coupons and how easy it was to drop off my car and go pick up some things at the TJ's or CVS. My car emerged nice and clean, inside and out. The last time I went (July '12) it looked as if no one even cleaned the interior of my trunk! There was still dirt that I could see (oh man, I wish I still had that photo I took). AND the plastic casing for the tire jack and been popped off and left off, so I knew someone was working back there. I'm usually not very picky about these things - and my car is nothing fancy. So when I decide that even lazy me can do it better, you know it's not worth it anymore. read more

I have learned with carwashes, until you are paying three digits, you won't get what you pay for right off the bat. Usually, you have to inspect your car inside and out, all the way around, and point out all of the things that were missed. I ordered the platinum special, and paid an extra five dollars to have the mats washed. When the car first came back to me, it looked like it had a $25 wash. I pointed out all of the misses and once they were all cleaned up, I left with the $40 wash that I expected. read more

This place is about a step up from the Shell gas station drive through--nothing special, but it's convenient and you get what you pay for. For about $19 + tip you get a standard wash plus a decent attempt at shampooing your carpets. I always do a walk around after they're finished and nine times out of ten I find dirt that is easily removed with a bit more attention. Needless to say, there is little attention to detail. If you drive a nice car and care about your paint job, I would not recommend coming here. I'd recommend AJs in San Jose. You can get a hand wash for $25 or a decent express wax for $50 and the quality is excellent. Only downside is the drive down there is a pain in the ass if you're in PA. read more

Pretty much on par with any other car wash... though it is "all hand". Meaning they power spray and then hand soap/scrub your car before going through the mystery tunnel (lol). All in all, I got the exterior only for $8.99 and was in and out in 15 minutes. Overall quality was to be expected with the detailed spots not entirely clean. Wheels (mine are mesh/multispoke) are harder to clean, but they did a pretty good job. Bottom line: I need a wash BAD and it did the job. If i want a full detail, I'd go to a real detail shop. read more

Same hand wash (it's a tunnel, but with people instead of brushes), hand dry, and tire dressing as the options that include interior cleaning. They did a good job. It was my first time here. Everyone was very friendly and gave clear instructions on how to go through the car wash. There was a nice waiting area with lots of seating. I was fourth in line to begin with and got to the front where the vacuum your car within 5-10 minutes. They had very reasonable prices. read more

I am,unfortunately, a regular here. The car washes are ok. The hand clay and wax are also ok. but at least everything is Paly overpriced. Overall, I would give the place 3 stars- average- HOWEVER, they lose a star because of the not-so-delightful woman who takes orders. She is consistently inflexible and pushy. (In fact I have left here more than once because of her). If it weren't for the convenient location, I would never come again. I'd go so far as to say that if another place opened up nearby that were twice the price and even half as good, I would take my business there immediately. Mostly friendly employees and some avoid interactions because some are limited to speaking English but overall I enjoy taking my car here. Auto Pride advertises 100% Hand Wash. This is 100% misleading. The Palo Alto facility has an automated track with brushes just like any other bulk wash facility. They tried to convince me to allow them to run my vehicle through the tracked part, assuring me "We have washed many cars like this". Absolutely false, the Owner's manual for my vehicle states it is NOT to be run though these automated washes. Summary: 100% misleading; 100% uninformed. Washee beware. read more

Is there an option for no stars? Attendant said the crack halfway through my window was there previously....really? I think I would have noticed that myself? Also, the dirt that I rubbed off with my finger in front of the manager, was "oxidation?". Really? The manager offered to take it off....and when I came back he told me he had to use 'extra strong soap" to take it off... I am so disappointed that not only they lied to my face, I wasted 20 dollars to have them try and take advantage of me....thinking I don't know what oxidation is because they are lazy... Also the discount I rightfully asked for at the cashier? She replied..."it's only a dollar....". I don't know how much she makes, but what a complete idiot! Thank goodness for Yelp...this place is awful, has always been awful, and I will tell everyone I know and have them pass it on, that this place is not respectable, is crooked, and does not do a thorough job. They even had the balls to keep my two dollar tip saying something about "it's in the box..can't take it out!". First time I went to Auto Pride Woodside Rd. on Dec 28. I was extremely disappointed in the wash. Windows were streaked worse then before, the wheels were poorly cleaned, water spots everywhere. Horrible job at $5, but $24 it was completely bad and unacceptable. I spent the following hour cleaning the windows and wheels myself. If you are looking for a quick wash close to Stanford this is the place, as there are no other car wash places close by. I took my personal car there awhile back and was not impressed of the cleanliness of my car after the wash. Water still not dried, wheels still had brake dust. When I'm too lazy to wash my car myself, I take it to Auto Pride. They do a decent job. I wouldn't trust them to detail my car, however. I don't think they pay enough attention to detail to get the job done properly. I regularly visit this car wash (usually once a week, a little less frequently over the winter) and I have to say that out of all of the car washes I have been to these guys do the best job. That doesn't mean I am 100% satisfied, however. They are somewhat careless and their attention to detail leaves something to be desired. On many occasions I have had to point out areas of the car where they just didn't clean when they should have. They often miss lots of stuff on the windshield that should be obvious. One time when I had them wax my then-new car I spent another 15 minutes there with them after they said it was "done", pointing out the areas where they had left wax all over the finish of the car. It was all over the black rubber moldings and stripping, and I had to come back 2 or 3 more times pointing out areas with excess wax remaining. It's these types of things that have led me to try other shops, like Lozono's, but they aren't any better, and they don't actually hand-wash there, either. Lozano's also uses cloths that leave behind lint all over your paint and windshield. read more

I used to be religious about this place. Always counted on a great car wash for under $20 for inside and out clean. The past 2 times I used their service I left feeling my car was still dirty. The first time I got the Silver wash which cleans interior and exterior, wheels. However they barely wiped my car down on the inside. There was still dust but now it was mushed around the crevices. I thought maybe it was just a fluke so I went back yesterday for just an exterior wash. I drove off trusting that they do the nice job I've always had in the past but when I made my next stop realized that my wheels were still dirty. I went during Tuesday around 3pm so it wasn't even busy. Really disappointed and don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Meh, nothing special. A bit over priced... ($17 for a BASIC wash). I watched them dry my car and saw two men crawl in the trunk to wash the windows and dry the area, only to see their shoes had left scratches all over the bumper. I drove around the corner when they were 'done' and there was still plenty that needed to be dried. They lack the thoroughness I would expect with their prices, not to mention the damage to my paint. the basic car wash is what it's named after. for me it is in a convenient location and they are usually fast. Since I drive a family car and only get here when it is needed I can always see a significant improvement to the before status. So if you need a basic car wash I think they do a pretty good job. read more
