I had them change my engine oil in the winter and I just changed my oil. The gravel shield had several missing fasteners and the oil drain plug and oil filter were excessively tightened. The oil filter was crushed in the removal process. I visited the business and told them I was going to post this review and not use their services or recommend them. They did a good job and I appreciated the attendant informing me of things, but not pushing for up sells like they do at the dealership. I used to go to Jiffy Lube, but became unhappy when they lied to me to get my email address. Came back again with two vehicles. When my father and I were asked if we wanted to purchase a fuel additive for $79.99 we said no thank you we will find it somewhere cheaper. When they came back in to collect payment the added the additive after we said no. The sales representative then proceeded to tell my father that he agreed to it. When the manager came in he said that he can't review the cameras because the mic wasn't working and he couldn't hear. After asking for the sales associate to come in and join the conversation the kid said "he couldn't really hear" what my dad had told him about the additive. Very disappointing to be called a liar by a manager and a sales associate, just to cover up for their mistake. Seems very convenient that the mic on the camera today of all days is not working. I've been going to this location for a while. When I started going years ago the crew were all welcoming and kind. None of those guys and gals work there anymore. I can't remember the last time I've gotten an oil change somewhere OTHER than a Valvoline location. Whether this one or another. One of the reasons I go is the cost. Over the years they have gotten much better at not trying to up sale on every visit and I always have a coupon. They send a survey each time and if I do the survey I get a pretty good coupon. I've reused the same coupon multiple times until it expires and then I get another one. Well today when I went to this location, the crew was a lot less welcoming than I've experienced in the past and the up sales didn't stop! Then the guy wouldn't accept my coupon. I'm deeply frustrated by my recent experience with Valvoline Instant Oil Change. As a loyal customer of theirs for several years, the disappointment I felt during this incident led me to the difficult decision of not returning with any of my five vehicles. When I entrusted them to service my vehicle, things took a turn for the worse as they ended up causing a significant issue by breaking my radiator. Even though Valvoline did eventually accept responsibility for this by replacing the radiator, what left me shocked was their denial of my claim for reimbursement regarding the rental car and Uber expenses that were essential for my trip. What's even more frustrating is that Valvoline was aware of my plans for the trip and the need for a rental car, given that my SUV had become inoperable. I ended up being over three hours late for my trip due to their mishap. To make matters worse, they not only denied my claims but also insinuated that I had caused the radiator issue, which is not only infuriating but also demonstrates a complete lack of accountability on their part. This entire experience has exposed serious flaws in their customer service and accountability, severely eroding the trust I once had in their service. Their area manager will not even call me back after I asked their corporate claims department to have this person explan the logic. I consider myself fortunate that I detected the radiator issue before setting out on my trip, as Valvoline's handling of the situation would have become even more problematic had I not caught the problem in time and been stuck overhearting or even worse damaged the engine. They made the business decision to not reimbursement $230 yet having received thousands of dollars from me in service since the store openend since it became a Valvoline. My service the day of this incident was more than $230. Updated on 10/30/2023: In response to Valvoline's statement below, it's important to clarify that a claim (CS0715034) was indeed filed, and Valvoline subsequently rejected the reimbursement for a rental car and Uber expenses incurred while picking up the rental car. i went into one of your locations to get a simple oil change synthetic blend high mileage. The guy who helped me was friendly and took me right away. While in the waiting room he brought in my air filter and showed me it was dirty. Now this is somthing im able to do at home and i have extra filters so i declined this as well as a tranny flush he offered. I paid after making good conversation and before i knew it, my jeep was ready. I make it a habit to check everything before i even leave my home if i know im going to a place that will handle anything in my engine bay... that being said, ive gotten home and again i make sure to check if everythings okay under the hood. First off, my coolant reservoir cover was completely off.. i watched from the office and saw them check but they didnt put the cap back on..(rookie mistake?) Next my air filter. The airbox the filter is in- was ripped from the bay, i cant find the bolt and washer that holds it down. The entire housing was shifted over so the box was not aligned and acutally completely off the exiting air pipe that leads to the bottom of my jeep. The filter cover was also not clamped in, allowing air to be taken in and bypassng the filter entirely. With all these things that have ive noticed were not put back together, somthing inside is starting to think if i actually even got the oil change ive paid for... I dont mean to insinuate that the guys over there are cheating me but theres enough reason for me to believe that i should check every little thing that i wasnt taken care of. I will be checking underneath to see if the bolts were adequately tightened as they have mentioned i had an oil leak (i did not prior to getting it checked) Im actually pretty disappointed cause having just moved to this area, valvoline was so close to my new apartment. These may not be simple mistakes...but a reason for those who dont know what to check for, to come back after somthing has broken down. Ive had my fair share of cheats which is why im letting you know...again not to point a finger, but to provide evidence that they either arent trained properly or somthing insideious may be going on. im attaching pictures ive taken just atter leaving their garage in the parking lot next door.  In all honesty im scared to find anything else and hope that there wasnt anything pulled out our set out of place. I left a star cause atleast the guy was respectable and sort of friendly upfront..even if it was an act. I wont be coming back as theyve lost my trust. read more

Christina was condescending to me & she spoke badly about her younger male coworker to me. He was nothing but polite to me. I found that quite unprofessional of her. I accidentally left my headlights on after she instructed me to turn them on to ensure they worked. She told me I had them set to auto; I said no, I just forgot. She walked around my vehicle & reached inside to change my light settings even though I again said I just forgot - literally human error. She left oily marks all over my plastic fender flares , bumper, & hood clips that won't come off. I also have a noticeable oil leak (that I've been aware of for a few months but they don't know that) & she didn't mention a single thing about it but she made sure she tried to upsell me on every other service. Recently visited this place this week when I looked at the sticker in the corner of my vehicle and noted I was overdue on my oil change. It happens!! Love the fact that I don't have to leave the comfort of my vehicle so I'll definitely visit again. Also grateful that they check all the lights to ensure all is working properly including my horn. Can't tell you how many tail lights I see out while rolling. The staff were just great! Very friendly and informative about all available options. They showed me my air filter and agreed it was in good shape. I appreciated that they didn't try to sell me on something I didn't need which I was already aware of. They presented all the info on my I vehicle and options for the types of oil change available. I settled on the mid synthetic and the staff member informed me that there would be a slight upcharge for my vehicle as it required 7 quarts which is slightly over the norm. Which I already knew. Those are the breaks with a big vehicle, yet I just love my Armada. I'll definitely visit again. I ended up here after a near Jiffy Lube tried to charge me an outrageous amount for the same oil change, NO Thanks!!! Also really appreciate the military discount!!! Yay!!! We take all of our vehicles to this Valvoline. They are super-efficient, and we've always gotten serviced with minimal-to-no wait time. The staff is always friendly, and their customer service is top-notch. They know all of our vehicles very well, since they've been servicing them for a few years now. I'd recommend this place to anyone needing oil changes / fluid changes, tire rotations, or general maintenance on your vehicle. Also of note, they will not try to sell you "extra services" that you do not need. If you get multiple services done during a visit, they will give you a discount. Furious! We were told it would only be 15 min before they got us in for a simple oil change. We were waiting over 45 minutes before they even looked at our vehicle! They explained they were short on staff but don't lie to me and say it'll only be 15 min wait if you already know it'll be much longer. My husband and I had to cancel an appointment we had because we were told it would only be 15 minutes. First and last time we ever come here. Should have gone to Virginia Tire and Auto. I come here periodically for oil changes and always a good experience, never feel pressured and always informed. In March they replaced a serpentine belt and a month ago it started making a squeaking sound. I took it back today to have them diagnose it and they realized the belt they put on was slightly bigger than it should be, they replaced it and charged nothing. I came here to do the oil change for my car, so I chose the full synthetic one which was $99 (tax included). So, you shoud drive at least 5,000-7,500 miles with this option, even some places they warrant 10,000 miles. the guy came in and put the sticker, it was only 3,000 miles. This was the second time that they were doing the same thing to me. I asked him, why you put 3,000 miles, I chose the full synthetic one, he said that it's related to type of my car, which is Hyundai. I said this is a 2018 model car, and what's wrong with Hyundai? So, the guy went back to office and fixed the sticker as 5,000 miles. After that I called Hyundai customer service, they said this is not true, you can drive up to 7,500-10,000 miles. So, I'd like to ask to the Manager of this place, how could you explain that you can put only 3,000 miles for full synthetic oil change ? What's the difference that If I'd want to drive 3,000 miles, I'd pick the blend one, which was $60. We're not stupid. No, I'll not come back after 3,000 miles, I'll come back at least 5,000 miles. Came here while visiting from Cali and decided to get an oil change for a car we borrowed from sis - had some time to kill before the airport. From the beginning to the end, our experience was amazing. The staff greeted us with all smiles. While the staff was all friendly, Ronald helped us and the whole thing took about 17 Min and he was very thorough on explaining every little detail and even gave us his suggestions. I already love Valvoline because it's what we use in LA but this particular location was especially friendly. Kevin and Richard also worked on our car while Ronald explained it all. I've been in several Valvoline stations and this one is my least favorite. I've been here twice and again they failed to satisfy my expectations. First time I was here, they forgot to put back my windshield cap and lost it (had to search and purchase one on line). The second time they said they filled up all the liquids, but when I get home I checked under the hood and found that they didn't. My coolant was not even refilled, not even a single drop. They also didn't not add air pressure to my tires. I will find other Valvoline station with great service like the one in Woodbridge. read more

Disappointed. No one inside the office to check me in. All the techs were servicing cars and watching me through the windows for 7-8 mins. Decided to run an errand and come back which I did. Someone then waited on me. About 10 days later, I noticed that I was missing 2 tire valve stem caps (hexagon aluminum, and not easily replaced). I check my tire pressure monthly, so this was the only place they could have disappeared. I called the shop to see if they had them there.Was told that they don't have any orphaned valve stem caps. (I guess they throw them away). read more

Awful experience. They suggested a power wash under the hood of my Saab. I agreed at their suggestion. After my oil change there, I ended taking my car in for three sea parade repairs. I shared my horrible experience with many people and was told you should never power wash under the hood of a Saab because of all of its sensors.
