I was looking for a new car, not in any hurry with VERY specific requirements for the car, from the size to the color to the cup holders. I came here and wasn't really finding what I wanted, but the last car they showed me met all my serious and goofy requirements, a Nissan Sentra. I'd had a Nissan before and I loved it. The blue/green color was gorgeous, it was smaller than the Impala I was driving, had a rear view camera, but most of all, it felt comfortable driving. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but it's a Nissan and is going to last a long time, and is worth it!! I've dealt with back alley dealers in San Diego County, CA who've got more honor and integrity than Auto Town. 1) Their customer service is a joke. No one returns a phone call or an email and good luck getting them to notify you if something important, such as plates, came into their office. 2) The office staff is beyond rude. Not only do they all walk around like they've got a stick stuck somewhere uncomfortable, they treat their clients as such too. 3) I purchased a 2017 Encore from them, with 61 miles on it. I didn't even break 1k when the engine developed a valve knock. Since the vehicle was under warranty, I tried to schedule an appointment for service but was turned, citing engine work was not covered in the warranty. 3.1)It's the 11th of February as I write this. I've been waiting on plates for the car since the 16th of November. I've gotten nothing but rude, unhelpful responses (when they respond at all) from the sales, finance, and service staff of Auto Town. Saw a truck I liked. Their online prices looked to be incorrect and were marked up nearly $10k over MSRP. I figured this was a typo. I asked after some back and forth and to my surprise, was told that due to "supply and demand" and of course COVID, there was an "extra" mark up on these trucks because once they sold them they wouldn't have anymore in for a few months. I responded that I would pass and that they were the only dealership I found in Oregon doing this. Never got a response trying to defend their actions. We took our 2021 Yukon Denali in for an oil change and service on a Friday and was told it would be done in a couple of hours. At the end of the day we called and they said that they had a problem and had blown a fuse that they did not have in stock and would take til after the weekend to get. Tuesday we called and still no fuse. Wednesday called and they got the part but told us it was the wrong one so had to order another. Friday comes around 1 week after they have had my car that I use for business while i am driving their pos loaner. I didn't pay $80k to drive a piece of crap. Back to Friday (oh we got the part but now we burned up your starter) huh? on a brand new car? Well we should have a starter in 2 to 4 weeks. I told them I could go to a parts store and buy one today and they said that they could not install it. So now I am thinking what are they hiding and I will not wait another month for my car and will it even be the same if I ever do get it back. I asked the mechanic that worked on it and he said he thought they had shorted the starter on a 400 amp tester that they use. Hmm I and not stupid.....doesnt the starter connect directly to the battery which is 800 amps so 400 should not affect it at all? He had no answer. After talking to some other Mechanics at other GMC dealers they said that they had probably seized the motor due to forgetting to put oil in after oil change. I went to the mechanic and asked him if that is what they had done. He went out to check something, Remember this is the guy that supposedly had done the work. He comes back and says no the motor turns over just fine???? With no starter??? Anyway we agreed that the dealership would buy it because we weren't taking it back and they agreed to give us what we wanted because these are impossible to find now especially a diesel one. They will just slap a bandaid on it then resell it. We get there to pick up the check and they say we will pay you as soon as you pay your service bill which is $1500. Service for what? Ruining our car? We ending up paying after a long argument just so we could move on. We weren't able to find another diesel but we were lucky enough to have a salesman at Beaverton GMC to hold the exact car that we were looking for minus the diesel. Buyer beware on service and used cars at Autotown Buick GMC. Our car that we sold back shows up as coming soon as it sits in their shop. They didn't order my parts until two days after they knew what was wrong ( would have been longer if I didn't call and ask). Parts arrived two days late and when I called multiple times on the day they said my repairs were supposed to be done. They waited until 4pm on Friday to finally answer and say that my car wouldn't be done until Tuesday. They will have had my car for two weeks for a 2 day repair. Our battery died thankfully in our driveway and not knowing of any reputable roadside assistance companies in our area; decided to reach out to Auto Town for recommendations. We did so via chatting with an agent on their website. We were told by Sebastian after we gave our contact info that someone from their company would reach out to us soon. No one called until Friday (New Years Eve) at 3:30 in the afternoon and they didn't bother to even leave me a message. The only thing heard at the other end of the line was a phone hanging up! I know others have complained about poor communication, and to a certain extent that is true. But in my case I was treated very well. Part of our agreement was to have the timing belt done on my new vehicle, and Auto Town went above and beyond what I asked for. They replace front pads and rotors, cv axles, serpentine belt, oil change, brake fluid flush, and I believe even one other item I can't remember off the top of my head. All of these additional items were not requested and they did them for free! They didn't really detail it at all, but the other work performed overshadowed this negligence, so I just did it myself. When I took my car home I started noticing a vibration when turning at lower speeds. Turns out the axle they put in on the front left side wasn't seated properly. They fixed this at no charge and the problem is completely gone. My only advice which would turn this into a 5-start rating is: A) better communication. If a car repair is going to be delayed or something else needs to happen, don't wait for the customer to call in. Let them know first, it shows you care. B) I recommend hiring more people in your service department. They were very kind to me but there just were not enough people to do the work. When standing around in the shop I could overhear multiple conversations about delays and being overbooked. It basically took me a full month to buy my used car. Overall, I appreciate the service. Horrible Customer Service. Sales person was told I had financing and I did NOT want him to run my credit. I would not divulge my SSN#. He said he could not sell the car without a SSN# due to the Patriot Act Verification Requirements. I provided and they ran my credit anyways. Sales manager said it was just a soft hit to verify my identity, however I showed him my credit alert of hard hits to all the bureaus. Credit Manager was offended that I didn't want to listen to any add on sales and became verbally combative. Owner was only person who stepped in to save the sale. Otherwise I would have walked away. Upon pickup of the vehicle the car was realeased to me with an empty gas tank. Love the vehicle and that is the only saving grace. Buyer beware- I was simply looking for information as I am a serious buyer. I sent an email requesting information on a particular vehicle i.e. the build sheet. I got a response that said someone would get back to me soon. No one ever got back to me. I sent another request. I received a response from Josh stating that as soon as he got in at noon he would send me the information. Four and a half hours later still no information. I emailed for the third time stating could someone please send me the build sheet. I did receive some information but not what I had requested. Finally I got the information and had a couple more questions which I emailed Nast no response. Silly me I should've moved on but I found another vehicle they have that I was even more interested in. Same process same problem no response. When I called and asked to talk to a sales person they said that would be Josh. I told him I didn't want to talk to Josh I've already had too many problems with him not responding or following up. I asked to talk to Josh's manager and was told that I would be transferred to him. I was transferred to a non working mailbox. I emailed Buick GMC of Beaverton and have had nothing but incredible, professional and fast follow up. I'm going there this weekend to purchase my vehicle. started this review a few weeks ago but wanted to see if they came through before sending it... OK...where to begin. Saw an advertised price on a truck I liked...was a great price and a great truck. Test drove and decided to buy at $26,488...took a week after several phone calls and several empty promises to call me back. Would have given up if it wasn't such a great deal. Finally got a call back saying the deal is done and to come in. We decided to buy the car through my wife as I am self employed and she got a better rate. After the paperwork was all filled out and we got to the finance page the price had gone up to $32,998...after telling them it was a deal breaker, they said they retracted the online price and would knock off $2k for the inconvenience after they had 'worked all week to get this done for me'. Now this wasn't a great deal any more but it was still a good deal. I had wasted several hours there now with nothing but arrogance from the employees so decided to go ahead and be done with it...paperwork all filled out and drove it off the lot. They said they would get a hold of me to do a couple things agreed upon...no phone call...until...they now needed current proof of income from my wife. We sent her last paystub to them and thought all was good. We then received phone calls from at least 4 different people that said they were the finance manager saying they needed a letter from her employer to verify hours and wage...not an easy thing to do. One 'finance manger' said it was not a readable copy but a different 'finance manager' was able to give us the information that was on the file we sent to them. We are now about a month into the process and now they said they had to refinance through another lender...didn't tell me it was at a considerably higher interest rate. I had one of my employees grab the paperwork and run it to my wife at work, bring it back, then was told they forgot to include several documents to sign...she had to go back, have my wife sign, and brought it back to me...this is when I noticed the higher interest rate...now I have paid someone for 4 hours to do this. I have yet to bring this back to them and am now pondering the idea of just giving the truck back for fear of something else coming up. This place is the most unprofessional car dealership I have ever been to, very rude people, no consideration on what time of day they call when they need something and not once have I had an apology for what they have put me through. Shady is an understatement and I wish I could give zero stars. Now I have left several messages regarding the things they promised, in writing, that they would take care of...today I will be buying and replacing the starter they were supposed to fix as well as the running boards they were supposed to put on for me at cost...the paint touch ups will be done next week...again on my dime. They put me into a car I really liked, with payments I could afford. I was happy as could be until I received a call two weeks later telling me to bring the car back. I was completely confused. They had told me the financing was done when I drove off the lot, but here we were two weeks later and they said the financing hadn't gone through? I was very disappointed and told them I could bring it back on my next day off (three days later). Legally, I had seven days to keep the car from the time they asked me to return the car. I agree with ever single bad review about this company. I am kicking myself for not reading these reviews before doing business with them. Fred is a horrible manager. Mario yelled at me repeatedly after purchase while dealing with repairs agreed on in my contract. They lie, talk down to you, make you feel like your stupid and all in front of my 10 year old daughter! I'm reporting them to the BBB, attorney general and any other site that will help keep anyone else from going through this trauma. I suggest anyone else with similar experiences should do the same!
