The service staff provided specific recommendations, ranked them in order of importance...what needed to be done now and what could wait. The truck ended up at the dealer for over a month as one important part needed rebuilding by an outside vendor. Pricing was very fair and the dealer gave a discount off of the final bill due to the time the truck was with them. It's running great and likely has another 100k miles ahead. Warning. I recommend, people Beware of this business. Don't allow your family to purchase three (3) vehicles (two new, one used) within two years from this dealer, then go back to ask the dealer management why a vehicle towing service is writing you a letter to collect fees and charges in regard to your trade-in vehicle that was signed over to this dealer's representative and appears to still be registered in your name after well over a year, almost two years. Warning. The dealer management first may not like you asking such a question, questioning how they may do business, as they don't even remember you, but begin to drill you on how they deal with car auctions, so you can learn how they work with car auctions. If this happens, don't mention that you're not interested in car auctions, only the reason your vehicle appears to still be registered in your name, as a disrespecting manager possibly may wave goodbye to you, as me, saying , "I will see you later" as you are walking out the door, still with no answers as to why my trade-in appears to still be in my name well after o year. Beware, after giving your money and business to these folks, as they may not care to even remember you as an important customer to deal fairly with. They lost the type of customer that they may spend possibly $hundreds of thousands to find. I don't consider this dealers management as very smart. My dad went in for an oil change a few weeks ago and while there they told him he needed new tires. This process took SEVERAL hours- my dad was there for over 6 hours. He asked several times how much longer it would be and none of the employees were able to give him an answer. After spending the whole day sitting in the waiting area for a simple oil change and new tires (with zero communication) my dad was finally able to take his truck home. Flash forward a few weeks later, the trucks low tire pressure tire light came on. My dad took the truck to Les Schwab and they said there was a needle on the inside wall of the tire that punctured through the tire. The suspicion is that the needle somehow was put in the tire during production. This is very scary as had the needle punctured the tire while driving, this could have been incredibly dangerous. My dad had the tire replaced at Les Schwab (which they did not charge for because they felt bad for my dad) but kept the old one from Canby Ford to bring back to them and explain the issue. When he went to talk to Canby Ford they were incredibly unhelpful and didn't care to try to have a conversation about how this issue could be resolved. I would think if a tire you sold had a needle in it from production, you'd try to resolve the issue and even try to offer a new tire/money back. Their overall service has been terrible. From the hours spent waiting for an oil change/new tires, complete lack of communication, and inability to take responsibility for a mistake on their part, they have lost all respect in my opinion. They definitely are a money focused business and don't care about their customers at the end of the day. Very disappointed and will not be going back. read more

A couple of months ago, I visited Canby Ford to look at a Mazda CX-5. It was everything I was looking for, except the price was a bit higher than I wanted to spend. After some back and forth with our sales guy, Darrien, we couldn't agree on a price, so we ended up leaving. They told us they'd be losing money by selling the car to me and would likely auction it off in a couple of weeks if it didn't sell (which is a crazy thing to say to a customer who is actively trying to buy the car). A couple of days later, they contacted me, saying they could lower the price by $600, which was supposedly the best they could do. Since I had been car shopping for almost two months and really liked the car, I agreed to the deal. Excited about the deal going forward, I showed my friend the car's listing online, only to find out that their Beaverton location had dropped the price by around $2,500. This was surprising, especially since Canby Ford had claimed they would be losing so much money selling it to me. I contacted the Beaverton location, managed to negotiate an even lower price, and arranged to visit the next day. Eventually, both dealerships realized I was in contact with both of them, but Canby Ford agreed to match the price listed online (though they weren't happy about it, lol). The sales manager from Canby called to have me arrange a time with Darrien, my original sales guy, and marked the car as sold. I immediately contacted Darrien via text, and he told me he was out of town but to come in the next day. On the day I was supposed to finalize the purchase, I confirmed that paying in cash was okay, only to be told that they had sold the car out from under me the day before. After all the back and forth, they sold the car despite having told me it was marked as sold. I tried calling for an explanation, but no one answered my calls. I was extremely upset since this was my first time buying a car on my own. I believe they were upset that I managed to get a lower price and didn't want to sell me the car. They reached out to apologize to my father-in-law, who was helping me with the process, but never once reached out to me or took accountability. Luckily, I ended up finding a nicer car two weeks later and moved on from the situation. That was until they continued to contact me about other cars, asking if I was interested. I told them twice to stop calling me because I had already purchased another vehicle and to take me off their call and email lists because of the terrible experience I had with them. Even then, I let it go--until today when they contacted me to ask if I wanted to SELL the car I purchased at another dealership! After all the back and forth and me expressing how much I disliked them, they are still trying to contact me and to SELL MY CAR? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Some time has passed since this experience, but not because I have done nothing. I have been writing letters to, and speaking to, those involved, and not getting any replies. On Sept 30/2024, I took my 2017 F350 Super Duty King Ranch Ford pickup, in like-new condition, to Canby Ford, for regular service. (I had been dealing with their Service Dept for some time.) While I was waiting for my truck to be finished, their salesman, Neil Ochs, approached me and we began talking and looking at the trucks on the lot. To make a long story short, I ended up trading my F350 for a 2022 F150 Black Widow lifted Ford pickup. The price was $88,000.00 and the trade value I was given for my 2017 F350 was $70,000.00. I had just had a $400.00 detailing done on it, had just paid a $500.00 service bill to Canby Ford, and had had a $3500.00 heavy duty custom front bumper installed and a $1000.00 winch installed...and my pickup had 22,000 miles on it. I really was not happy with the F150 and, on Jan 4, I called and talked with Neil Ochs about it. After 3 months, I was seriously considering going back to a diesel, and I asked Neil what trucks were on the lot to look at and we discussed ordering a new truck. He e-mailed an option order sheet to me so I could go over the options so that we could discuss an order. On Jan 12, my wife and I went in to Dicks Canby Ford, so that I could look at what was available on the lot. Neil Ochs was there, but he never looked at me. He walked right be us and sent a young salesman, Diego Soto, to talk with me. There was a 2023 3/4 ton diesel pickup, priced in the high $70's (I never did hear an actual price). My wife and I sat in the sales area for quite a long period of time (we were seated next to Neil Ochs and he never did acknowledge us or even nod his head in our direction) and the young salesman came and went several times between us and what we assume was the finance manager. Finally, another person came, sat down and introduced himself as Razi Gonzalez, and Diego sat over to one side. Razi started mumbling about how things had changed so much since we bought the Black Widow F150 and how he would really like to help us out. After much mumbling, most of which I could not hear or understand, and stalling, I FINALLY got Razi to come out with some numbers; he told me he would take my pickup (the F150 Black Widow) in trade on the 2023 3/4 ton that was sitting on the lot plus another $35,000.00. When I heard this, I could not believe what I was hearing. I said that I would offer my truck (the F150) and $10,000.00 for the 2023 3/4 ton diesel that Diego and I looked at. Razi laughed at me!!! My wife and I got up and left. And, as we were driving out of the driveway, the Deputy Sheriff drove in. I can only believe that they all knew that I was gonna get very angry when I heard the numbers they were planning on offering me and they were stalling me and had already called a Sheriff to come before they had even quoted me the prices. I admit, I was angry, and I did raise my voice and I slid the chair I had been sitting in across the floor toward the desk where Razi was sitting, and he jumped up. And we left. I am almost 80 years old, a U.S. Army veteran, with an 80% service connected disability rating. Over the last 2 years, I have written more letters than I can count, and never received ANY reply from anyone at Dicks Canby Ford.....even though I wrote to their president Scott Inukai, their manager, and their salesman..and sent the letters by certified mail, so I know they were received. I wrote to Ford's Customer Service Center in Dearborn Michigan and they did answer, only to say that each dealership is free to do business as they see fit and Ford does not have any control. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau and the only thing they did, was pass my letters to Dicks Canby Ford and, when Dicks Canby Ford did reply (but never directly to me) pass their letter on to me. I did not think this was the way a reputable Ford dealer worked....I guess this one is not a reputable Ford dealer and is not to be trusted. I eventually went to Thomason Ford in Aumsville and traded the F150 Black Widow lifted Ford pickup and $20,000.00 for a 2019 F350 pickup. I got a fair deal with them....although the 2019 is not the truck my 2017 was, and it had 40,000 more miles on it than my trade. But Thomason Ford were honest and fair. I will never recommend Dicks Canby Ford to anyone. read more

I unfortunately cannot say that I was completely satisfied with my experience at Canby Ford. I have two issues on why your business left a negative impact on me. 1: I was asked by FORD if I would be interested in entering a raffle to purchase a Raptor Bronco. I replied back that I would. I received a letter back that I was eligible to change my order over to a raptor. I contacted Neil and he informed me that I need to create another order. Then he told me that Canby FORD will add $20 to $25 thousand on the final price. That if I wanted to get what FORD offered to me directly, I was to pay $20 to $25 thousand dollars to Canby Ford. I didn't come in off the street to by the vehicle, it was offered to me from FORD directly. I understood that I would be forfeiting the price protection plan from my 2021 order, but not the need to pay over MSRP. I spoke with Landmark FORD and the sales manager told me that FORD had asked all of its dealerships not to charge more that MSRP on the Raptor Broncs. Unfortunately, I was assigned to Canby so I could not move my order. 2: When I got the date of delivery, I got my loan approved through my credit union. I told my credit union that I wanted to sign all of the documents there prior to coming to your dealership. I received a call from Neil that the Bronco was going to be ready by the end of day. I drove out to see it, but it was not ready for delivery yet. I told him that is fine because I still need to get the check for my credit union. As soon as you send over the PO, they can cut the check. Someone else said that it would be easier for me to just reapply through the dealership, and handed me some paperwork to fill out. Why would I want to refill out credit applications that I already have a loan for. It wasn't easier for me; it was only easier for you. On Monday the PO was sent to my credit union. I went to sign the paperwork. While I was there, my loan officer informed me that Kristin Hunt had called her boss complaining that instead of me going though CUDL I went back to the credit union. This was what I wanted to do from the beginning. I then took the check to your dealership, knowing that Kristin was not happy that I made a decision on my own. I went in to pay you and sign documents, when sitting down Kristin rolled her eyes at me before proceeding to hand the docs to sign. After the Bronco was paid and signed for there was no thank you or congratulations. There was no one that showed us how to use the features on the vehicle. I had to find the keys on Neil's desk for myself. Every time I have purchased a new vehicle at other dealerships, they have always made sure that the vehicle was configured the way I want it. That all my questions were answered and have been fully informed on all of the features of the vehicle that I just purchased. Neil did come out to say by and answer some questions. Well before it was due, I took my recently purchased truck into my local dealership to get the "the works" done just to be safe. I was informed that my front brakes are nearly metal to metal L1-1/R1-0. My rear brakes were 6mm. I asked how this was possible as I purchased the truck three months ago and have driven 3,000 (mostly Highway 20) miles. I was informed that it shouldn't be possible short of me racing which sadly I am not. I asked for the inspection report from Canby, which showed 5mm on both the front and back brakes. I asked if this could be a mistake and if Canby Ford was will to do anything about the situation. The answer was: Short of talking to the service department so I could be reassured that this is my problem, nothing would be done. Based on what I have been told, selling a used car with brakes under 3mm is a crime. This was sold as a Certified Pre-Owned Ford which according to the local dealership means brakes must be at 4mm. It is my opinion that this has occurred. Had I not decided to take the truck in for service early, there is a reasonable chance my front brakes may have failed to perform adequately while driving my early morning commute, often in the elements, from Corvallis to Newport. I have filed a formal complaint with Ford itself. read more

I was promised a new key almost a year ago and still haven't received it. Rozzi was the one to make this promise. I have called once or twice a week since June of last year and have had no call back from them. The last time I talked to him he said that the key was sent to the wrong dealership. Poor service, crooks. I called Canby Ford to schedule an oil change. Alex answered the phone and told me the oil change included a multi-point inspection and tire rotation. So I scheduled an appointment. When my car is done and I go to pay, I find out Alex signed me up for the deluxe oil service, without advising me there were options. Second, I asked what type of oil would be used so I could buy a quart, Alex told me the wrong grade. I had already left the dealership when I caught the mistake and had to go back to get the right grade of oil. Third, they performed a multi point inspection that claimed all fluids were good, but the coolant was low and still is. So, obviously they just check boxes without actually looking at anything. I will not be back, I'd trust Jiffy Lube over Canby Ford. read more

While there the new battery bought at canby Ford was allowed to fail. They replaced it and said they would reimburse the amount. We have been waiting over a month and they now say two months! I contacted Canby Ford about a car they had listed on their website, a 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. Yesterday I spoke on the phone with Michael Carl, a salesman there. Michael told me that someone else had looked at the car that day, but had decided not to buy it. I agreed to buy the car for the asking price. I made it clear to Michael that I was flying in from San Jose, CA, and I asked him if he could hold the car for me. He promised me that he would hold the car. Based on his promise, I bought a nonrefundable plane ticket to Portland. This morning, Michael sent me the following text: "Derek I'm terribly sorry but apparently the manager had a tentative deal working on the GT 350. It wasn't my decision. The car is sold. I'm sorry about the inconvenience Derek." It's clear to me now that they never intended to sell me the car. They were just using me to get a better price from the other customer. It's a shame that this kind of shady business practice is so common in the auto sales industry. Believe it or not, there are some honest dealerships out there. This isn't one of them. read more

If it wasn't for Keith, I would advocate for every ford owner to get their vehicles serviced at another dealership. Dropped off my F250 for a 50k mile checkup service and came back to a $1500 Bill. No courtesy call about the work they recommended or even estimates about the work being done. As Keith and I discussed, the service writer/tech decided to add unnecessary and unapproved work to my truck. I was refunded about 20% so overall it was an okay experience. Personally, I'll be taking my vehicles to one of the many other local Ford dealerships where customers are more than a blank checkbook. read more

I took my 2021 Bronco (which I purchased from Canby Ford, prior to it becoming Dick's), because my air vent blower was making a rattling sound. I was informed by Dicks that I had a rodent in the blower. They said this isn't covered by my service agreement and they would clean it out for a $500 charge. At that time, the amount sounded like a lot of money and I have several mechanically minded friends, so I declined against it, thinking we could save the money and do it ourselves. Needless to say, I was very wrong. The blower compartment seems to require a mechanic with the correct tool to access the blower. So, I called Dick's Canby Ford Service Center back and was informed they don't take rodents out of cars. I questioned this new information and mentioned my recent encounter there and the gentleman was adamant that they don't remove rodents due to diseases. I was told to call an exterminator. Just as an FYI, I called an exterminator who was unable to open the blower because he's not a mechanic. Needless to say, I'm not happy with the service I received at Dick's Canby Ford and certainly won't be purchasing another car from them. read more

I hardly know where to begin with giving kudos to the folks at Canby Ford. If I were to tell you the story about our car and the issues that we've had with it, you'd wonder why I'm giving a 5 star review, but it's because of the incredible way that Canby Ford has taken care of us and dealt with the issue - even when they didn't have to. We bought a used Jeep from them a few months back. Being the penny pincher that I am, of course I did not elect to purchase the additional warranty and so I should be SOL when it comes to the issue that we've had. but not at Canby Ford. I contacted our sales person, Rex to ask him if there was any chance of them being able to repair our car. He checked with Leon in the service department and immediately they offered to give us a loaner car and find a way to get it fixed. They are a Ford dealership, and we have a Jeep, so they didn't have to do it since we did not have a warranty, but they did. After the first repair, the problem continued to exist. Unfortunately it's one of those "let's fix this and hope it's not worse" issues. Of course it was worse. Called them and they said bring it back and we'll send it out to the Jeep Dealership. Got it back, and unfortunately the problem continued. Contacted them again, this time they said they would pay for the next set of repairs since they wanted to stand behind what they sold. How amazing...especially since that repair was a couple thousand dollars!! We got the car back two days ago, and still the problem exists. Once again, they have gone beyond the call of duty and said they will take care of it. Although this issue is more frustrating than I can begin to explain, the way Canby Ford has taken care of us through it all has been nothing short of amazing. My beloved and well-maintained '95 Contour required an extensive repair that my regular mechanic didn't offer. I called Landmark Ford's service department regarding a ballpark estimate for the repair and, after a month and a half, they never gave me a number. Not wanting to give up on the Contour without a fight, I researched on Yelp to find the highest rated Ford dealer service department within driving distance and found Canby Ford. Travis in the service department heard me out and called me back *within 10 minutes* with a baseline quote whereas Landmark couldn't get me a ballpark number after a month and a half and five reminder phone calls. AVOID- No express service available, which is annoying enough but when I make an appointment and am told 1.5 hours to change oil and program a new key fob, I expect it to be done in that time. I have a hard time believing it could take that long to begin with but to show up and be told the key took that long by itself because, "it has all that computer stuff" and they are just now ready to start oil change!? I went in to get an oil change and a recall part replaced today.my only concern about canby Ford is that no one is taking precautions for this dangerous coronavirus , no one had a mask on the guy that was helping me in service put a pen in his mouth and then handed it to me to sign papers which is very concerning I took another pen to sign with then I went out to wait and there was somebody coughing in the lobby I had my mask on but I went outside and stayed for 2 and 1/2 hours. They handed me my keys which were filthy and never cleaned my inside never took any precautions I'm very concerned I probably won't come back now and I've bought two trucks from these folks please take precautions please protect your employees and your customers. I myself have lost two people to this illness this virus and was shocked to see that no one was following precautions to protect their employees or their customers.the day before I had my tire fixed at Les Schwab and they all have masks on they all we're practicing very good precautions for this virus they wrapped my steering wheel with plastic, they gave me my keys back in a plastic bag so I can wipe them down before I drove , So please canby Ford please before someone gets sick or you lose a loved one please do wear masks protect your employees like their your own family. Very dissatisfied with the service department. In the past they always took good care of me. The last couple have not been good. Then the last appointment the service writer said that he was "going to make something happen" to get a repair done. I got in the car and it wasn't fixed. He never bothered to say anything, let me get into the car to find out. The entire experience felt rushed and without care. I sent an email to the dealership with my frustration. What a surprise, no response. Obviously their service has dropped. Won't be going back for service or talk about my new car purchase. I only buy one every two years because of my job. read more
