I found Ed and his shop on Yelp. I read the reviews and had modest expectations going in. A healthy skepticism, let's say. I've been there twice now: first time my old workhorse of an SUV was not shifting gears and stalling on me. Ed gave me the best guess of what was wrong and explained to me that an exact report on the damage would cost about $600 in labor, since it was an issue with the transmission and the transmission was buried under the engine. I chose not to work on it and sell it for parts, which Ed advised anyway, saying issues would keep coming up and it would be cheaper just to get a new one. Ed did not charge me for diagnostics since I found them on Yelp, so I walked away with great advice on what to do with my vehicle for free. The second time I brought my new car in, a 2006 Toyota Corolla I recently purchased used, to get the brakes checked. Ed gave me the rundown on the brake situation and checked out the rest of the car for me. He told me what I needed to have fixed and by when, and what I could do without if I didn't want to spend the money. I was happy with the estimates, happy with the work, and happy with Ed's honesty. ED IS A MECHANICAL WIZARD! As soon as you arrive at his shop in Glendale he makes you feel at home, dropping everything to really listen and find out what could be wrong with your car. AND BOY DOES HE KNOW! I will mention the most vague problems and he knows based off of a sound or performance issue what part(s) are at the bottom of the problem. Not only does he know how to fix something he is also a seasoned mechanic, working professionally for dealerships, so he knows all the 'tricks' to keeping your car in tip top shape, according to your warranty, while still helping you get the best deal on parts and labor. You also benefit from his vast network of friends at dealerships and other agencies when you may be in a pickle for an out of warranty or custom part/service. You can see he really loves his job because he is there early in the morning to late at night making sure your car gets serviced amazingly fast. He even remembers to bring Porto's danishes and fresh coffee throughout the day for his customers! The shop is brand new and although it is going thru a major overhaul, it will be designed with the customer in mind. His staff are extremely friendly and hard working as well, they work together like a well oiled machine, and if they don't know the answer to something they don't lie, they tell you they will find out the answer and get back to me.. and they do get back to me. While you are at the shop, Ed is one of the most patient people you will ever work with. He is so patient that even when you came in with one problem, but remember another while he is inspecting your car, no questions asked he looks at that other problem too.. he even takes the time to explain and show you what is wrong with your car and gives you options on how to fix it. I have felt so comfortable with Ed and his team that I even recommended him to another friend of mine! It's a rare opportunity to do business with an honorable automotive repair shop. Ed is the best! The fuel pump went out on my Exterra and had to be towed home. I detest rip off dealerships so I turned to Yelp and found a treasure in Auto Trinity! I needed new brake pads and shocks so I had Ed do those while it was at the shop. All the repairs together cost MUCH less than just having the fuel pump replaced at the dealership. I took my miata to Auto Trinity to install a new sound system in my car. I spoke to Ed Friday evening right before they were closing and he told me to come the next day and he will take care of it for me! I was expecting at least a few days before getting an appointment, but I was able to take it the next day at 10:30am! So amazing! As I arrived, Ed was very generous and polite and helped me with everything I needed to be done. He immediately offered me coffee and snacks while I waited, such great hospitality! He finished installing my sound system in less than an hour (30-45 min) and it sounds great! He was very polite and quick with everything, but also made sure to perfect his work. After experiencing many different kinds of body shops, I can now say I have found my one! I feel so comfortable now knowing that I have Ed to go to if I ever need any help with my car. I have had so many poor and/or weirdly random experiences when trying to get my car fixed that it's almost unbelievable how awesome Ed is. First of all, he answers his phone quickly when you call. Im a bit disappointed with myself that I have not written a review sooner. Ed has been our mechanic for a couple of years and I've taken my car to him for different issues: from oil change, wheel bearings replacement, replace the electrical trunk lock to new tires. I've always felt him be honest and never taken advantage of me being a woman. As a matter of fact, my sister (Ailyn-reviewer) was the one who referred him to me. The fact that she, a single mother of three boys, who has had her moments of financial struggle raved about how much he's helped her made me go to him. I am the type to shop around and compare prices. When I needed to have my tires replaced, I called Peps Boys/Costco/Tire Pros and Ed still managed to get me a better deal for great tires. I will take my car to him before the dealership. The last time I was there three weeks ago, I was having an electrical issue with my car alarm/ignition and trunk. He told me upfront I may need to take it to the dealership. I left my car with him for three days since he was trying to see if he could fix it by calling the dealership and trying to take care of the issue without me having to go in. I was a bit worried about labor fees, but he was so reasonable. I've never had to tell Ed my financial struggles, and I appreciate that he's never taken advantage of charging me outrageous labor fees. He also is great about warning you on part prices and getting your "OK' before moving forward. Ed is not only a great mechanic, he also employees guys that seem hardworking and are professional. Sometimes you go places where the "head guy" is nice, but there are pervert-behaving guys or guys with no people skills, but I genuinely feel comfortable going to his shop. Another thing, I not only appreciate Ed as a mechanic, I am so happy to see him succeed. He was at a tiny shop in Burbank over a year ago and now he's got a nicer/bigger location. He created a space for his Dad to work, little by little he's personally working on the reception area, and he's making his place unique. If I could give Ed of Auto Trinity 10 stars, I would! I've taken my car to him for service and repair a few times, and I can't say enough about how personable, trustworthy, and generally what a great person he is, not to mention his skill as a mechanic. I am so impressed and grateful to have found my "go-to" guy. What made me realize I'd found a gem is the 1st time I brought him my 14-year old Jeep - leaks and creaks, and I pretty much gave him an open invitation to find whatever was wrong with it and was ready to move forward to have it fixed based on his recommendations. I'd already had other mechanics tell me that masses of hoses would need to be replaced, which would cost at least a couple thousand bucks. Ed, however, said the leaks were actually not that bad, completed a tune-up/oil change, and I drove away having spent less than 3 hundred bucks. I don't know that very many people would have been so honest and trustworthy as to not take advantage of a customer who would have been willing to move forward with whatever repairs were recommended. The next time, I dropped by to have a rear tail light replaced, he refused to charge me anything.
