The great thing about going to Auto Werkstatt for the past three yearis that I got to go there when I want to and not because my car broke down, or any other emergency car reason. I know I'll be seeing Kenny in six months and not any sooner than that. Why? Because my car is reliable! *knock on wood* Kenny and his crew still continue to impress me with their knowledge, honesty, and service! It's hard for me to believe that I have been coming here for almost three years now. My car (2003 BMW 325Ci) is still in great top shape and I have Auto Werkstatt to thank for that. I have taken my car to this place over 5 times since my last review and have decided to write a review on my most recent experience here. I called in for an Inspection 1 maintenance job and for a small oil leak I have had (losing 1 quart/6 months). This is the small one, compared to my last review, which was the Inspection II. When I came to drop off my car, Kenny was outside with another customer. When he finished, we talked and I told him that I was there for the Inspection I service. He had the diagnostic computer in his hand already and decided to just plug my car in to see what the readout would be. The only fault that came up was the electrical fault. Kenny dug a little deeper into the issue but didn't understand why it was receiving a fault because all of the electrical systems were stating they were getting the correct voltage and that there was nothing peculiar about the electrical system. He told me it didn't make sense to try to find out what the issue was, especially when there was no evidence of an electrical fault. He took a look at my brakes and told me my front brakes needed replacement. My rotors had a pretty deep lip on them so I understood why he suggested changing my front brakes (last time they were done, my car was covered under BMW maintenance). He opened my hood and inspected the hoses, belts, etc and told me that I definitely needed to change my belts and a VANOS hose. He showed me where the belts were cracking and that he suggest that I change them. I dropped of my car. Kenny did warn me that he was really busy and that it might be a while. I was in no rush for the car but it was nice that Kenny gave me a time frame on when the work would be completed. Long story short, work was done on the car. Kenny recommended some services to be done to my car while he had access to some parts of my engine. My car is totally happy! Brake pads/rotors/sensors/fluid flush, thermostat, two hoses, tank cap, temp switch, two belts, two belt pulleys, oil filter, oil change, four washers, a VANOS oil line, and a oil filter housing gasket (the cause of the slow oil leak). Add all the labor to get all these things installed/replaced and the damage ended being $1913 ($980 Labor, $857 Parts). All in all, I am happy with Auto Werkstatt. My wallet may not be at times, but knowing that I am getting authentic BMW parts, great service and knowledge, I know that this kind of service comes with a price. But knowing that my car is happy and getting the peace of mind that my car is always reliable is something money can't buy! read more

As it turns out, because my car is registered in NV, it wasn't covered by the CA emissions law and I needed to have him take care of it. I called, he said bring her in, and the NEXT DAY he called to say she was finished. While my car was in his shop he called to update me on the status and let me know where he was at. I had a problem with the power steering on my 435. The dealership said that the power steering rack needs to be replaced and it costs too much for the value of the car. I called up and spoke to Kenny and he explained to me that it could be a possibility, and quoted me of course a lower number. He also told me that there are other possibilities and may not need replacement at all. Unfortunately, I never got to know and worked with him, because the dealership would not let me go quoting that it was not safe to drive. I ended up trading in the car. When my new car warranty expires, I will be glad to know that there is a great mechanic nearby. read more

I took my BMW in because it looked like my vacuum pump was leaking and there seemed to be another oil leak somewhere else. I had heard the stealership wants $1100 to replace the pump. Took the car to Kenny, he took the time to look it over and said he's not sure if it's the pump or where the oil was coming from. After looking at it, he replaced the pump, cleaned up the oil in the engine bay and told me to bring it back for him to check it in a few weeks to see if there were any other leaks. The pump was replaced for much less than the stealership would charge, and GET THIS! He called me after I picked up the car and told me he realized he made a mistake on the amount of time he charged me, and I should come back so he'll refund me $86! I bought a used Porsche and brought it in. This is my first Porsche and the owner Ken took a lot of time and helped me understand the car. He recommended installing some new shocks, as the stock shocks on the car aren't very good. I did that, and felt a huge difference. He also fixed some other things on it and it's been running great since. I've also brought the car over a couple times, just impromptu. Once he put in some oil for free and then before a long roadtrip he checked the car out, and put in a new bulb for me. I've been going to Kenny now for a couple of years now. He's great. He and his team do excellent work. I've been happy with the results each time. I want someone who will shoot me straight and give me the facts about my car, what needs to be done, what I can hold off, etc. and Kenny always does that. Kenny has even given me advice that hurt himself financially. He told me to dump my Audi because it was about get really expensive to maintain. Other mechanics would have smiled when I came back in 3 months later for a brand new transmission. Instead I'm driving a nice new Porsche. Kenny even referred me to a great salesman who took care of me. I'm very happy with the new car.... but slightly sad I wont be stopping in to harass Kenny for a while. :) He is not the cheapest, but you didn't buy your Audi/BMW/Porsche to get the cheapest car around.
