It needed a new camshaft and rockers arms on one cylinder head. Runs great now. No fault codes. They refused to partially refund the repair they did nothing. Variable valve lift and variable valve timing (cam phaser) are completely unrelated mechanical systems. It never had a cam phase fault, but that's the part they replaced. They lost a customer for life.

That…read moreparticular car never had a cabin filter (and it was not available) during the years it was manufactured. Add to that, the plastic engine splash shield suspiciously lost 2 bolts after the oil change and by the time I got home, the shield had fallen and the road had ground it down to the point that it could not be fixed and had to be replaced. So much for their so-called "safety inspection". Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere, anywhere else!!
