I purchased my Porsche in Marin as it was is the closest dealer to me in Sonoma County. Services were quite cumbersome with the commute and wait time in Marin while my car was serviced. I found Autobahn on Yelp and with all the positive reviews scheduled my service. Everything was explained perfectly and service completed all while being able to accomplish my daily tasks at home. Drive time was reduced from 2 hours to 20 minutes. Price seemed to be standard but I was comfortable in the quality and service. I will schedule my next service at Autobahn. read more

by far the best Porsche shop in NorCal. And I've been to a few. Paul and Zach solve a problem I've have with my car for 4 years. Have taken it to a number of high end Porsche shops, none were able to solve it. I dropped my car off at Autobahn and about an hour later I got a call. "I think we've found your problem". And indeed they did. Saved me thousands of dollars. They could easily have taken me to the cleaners but didn't. I am very happy with this shop. I live in San Francisco. i have now used Autobahn on 3 occasions ( 2009 BMW 328i, 2004 Porsche Carrera 911 Coupe ). on all occasions, Autobahn performed the work as expected, recommended other work I had not considered, finished all on time and on the agreed upon budget. On one occasion, they came in under budget on a postponed fix I had not taken car of due to cost. Additionally I like how they listen to the customer. You may have knowledge and insights they have not considered or known of. Instead of the usual " our way or the Highway " position, theirs was from the " tell me more " type of exchange. Had an issue fixed where water was leaking into my BMW. I took it to my local dealership, and they charged me just to run some tests. Needless to say, I wasted time and money. I came here, soon after and they took care of my problem within 2 hours. Great experience and I highly recommend. The main guy in the front office is really nice and they seem very honest. We broke down with travel trailer in tow on Sunday coming into Petaluma on the way home from Bodega. After AAA got us to a safe place for the night, I called Autobahn at 7:30 Monday morning. Paul said to send my truck in and he would work it in that day. A fuel pump on a Chevy Tahoe is not a small job. Paul called at 11:45 AM to say it was done. It really helped us out more than I can say to get us back on the way home. The work was perfect at a fair price and the vehicle was left clean. Very nice clean shop specializing in Porsche ad BMW, but they can do anything. Also, very nice people who know cars inside and out. Ok, I can't say enough positive things about Zach and his team. Wow. They always get the job done and for what they estimated it would cost and typically less. I have a VW Wolfsburg Edition Jetta. It has had more issues than I care to ever recount. The main seal blew, it wouldn't pass the emissions for DMV, it had all kinds of weird codes popping up...Yikes! Previously I had to take my car to the dealership due to the warranty rules(read the fine print people before you're fool enough to pay those money grubbing dealer's extended warranties). UGH... Thank goodness that's over so I now can take it to a place that I trust. IF you have a German car in North Bay, this is your stop. Oh and they did my brakes, too. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. Zach and Paul are knowledgeable with all types of vehicles, and their team performs top-notch, grade A work. I've taken my Corvette (yes, American car in the Euro shop) and have had nothing but great experiences. From camshaft upgrades to clutch replacements to suspension work to routine maintenance -- these guys are where you want to bring your car. I had my car worked on by the young feller that owns Autobahn Automotive in Santa Rosa a few months back. The first time he fixed my car, I was impressed. He was professional and courteous. I had him diagnose a problem I had with the car a month or so later. He told me that it required a certain part that cost a lot of $$ and the charge to install it was a certain price, which too was a lot of $$$. I called around to price out the part he stated needed to be replaced. I found the same part new for $200 less than he stated it would cost and I also found out that the installation of the part was not nearly the complicated task he made it out to be. Actually, he stated that it would require a task that is not even required for the part. I feel that it is these types of mechanics that give the rest a VERY bad name. They over charge for parts and then try to deceive you by playing to the consumers ignorance, which is inherent to the basic consumer when it comes to automotive repairs. Otherwise, what would be the need of mechanics (to overly simplify the statement). Any ways, I can not, in good conscience, recommend this mechanic after this experience. If he feels he need to be dishonest on order to gain business, I can not and will not recommend it. read more

Great service. The guy knows his stuff. My four wheel drive jeep was rolling rough and he jumped on the problem quick. The price was fair and the work was clean. After that I started bringing my 530i to him for regular servicing. It's nice to get an experienced opinion and not just get a grease monkey looking to line his pocket. Mercedes Benz dealership quoted me $2500 - $6000 (depending on what they find once servicing the vehicle) to fix my command screen on my C250. This was my first time visiting Autobahn and they shared they could have it repaired for less than $500. Autobahn isn't the first place I tried in Santa Rosa, but I have continued to bring not just my X5, but also my 07 and 78 porsches to them. So, recently I had a light come on the dash, dropped into a place where this guy who wanted to date me said he'd look at Seal. When I got there he said I needed a new engine!. After having owned an independent BMW repair shop and knowing the pitfalls that come with the territory I found Autobahn Automotive to be not your everyday BMW repair facility. For starters, they listen. They don't go right into sales mode of trying to get the most repairs done on a single visit. I always get detailed estimates with time frames of importance. I save hundreds of dollars on routine service, and when repairs are needed, the price of labor is fair and parts are less expensive then I can buy. I also get the added knowledge that the parts chosen will be of superior quality then just the cheapest that could be found. Most of all I have come to trust them. Bought my BMW 3 series with 100k on it. With the help of autobahn I've had the car for over ten years, now it has 280k miles on it. Still runs strong. They also figured out why my Chevy truck was throwing off a check engine light. Fixed the problem without it costing me an arm and leg. I have been going here for service on my 98 VW GTI commuter for over a year now. One of the best mechanics in the business and I have had many. Knowledgeable, friendly and full of integrity. I had some problems with my oil after some work I had done here. I brought the car in to troubleshoot and they fixed a defective part in 30 minutes and car running perfectly again (no extra charges, no hassles, no BS). Just took care of it right away! I don't know much about cars so I rely completely on what a mechanic tells me, so that trusting relationship is essential for me. The first sign of BS and I am out. I met Jerome and he is a very cool guy with a lot of knowledge. I took my Santa Fe in (even though they specialize in German cars) with a pretty ambiguous problem. They even got me out of a jam by providing a competitive quote for Maclea's (the terrible Windor location) to have to match when I got stuck up there with a dead water pump. Zach is great and totally honest about what needs to be done to my car, and when. I've gone in, and he'll say that I have about a month before a certain item needs to be replaced. Came here to get my BMW car alarm enabled I had already installed but didn't have equipment to turn on). Before I went here, I went to Hansel BMW to see how much they charge for enabling it, I was quoted $250/hr. I was told to go here by a friend. Zach within 2 minutes after my car was brought inside, he enabled the alarm. To top it off he didn't even charge me. At a friend's birthday party recently I brought up my car problem to a group of people.
