They are 40 minutes away from me Round trip it's an hour and 20 minutes How you put it on a diagnostic machine and you physically looked at it and you couldn't tell nothing was wrong with it I have no freaking idea after I paid my money. They had my car for over 8 months straight, and I got it bad with a transmission that grinds and a bad coolant leak, neither of which were a problem before my car was dropped off. At the 2 month mark, I got me car back, drove it 5 miles, and then it died on the side of a busy on-ramp. I had to roll it the wrong way down the ramp into a ditch and onto a side road. Then I had to get a tow truck to pick up my car and take it back to the shop, and the shop didn't even pay for that. I had been told it was perfect. Then it was there for another 6+ months before I got it back and experienced the aforementioned problems. Also, they charged me almost 5 grand for what they did. Absolutely ridiculous. I have spent over $10,000 here over the years. I have never had an issue with the quality of work. I have never been told they couldn't figure it out. I have never been sold something I didn't need. They work on Land Rovers and they subscribe to the diagnostic systems required to do it effectively. You would be hard pressed to find another shop around that will even consider working on a Land Rover let alone do it right. They are not the cheapest but they are the best value. If you just want your euro or Japanese vehicle fixed right, the first time, take it here. They are always scheduled out a few weeks. Thats just a product of there being no competition on this level in the area. Just wait. It's worth it. You will probably wind up here anyway if you take it somewhere else. Major jobs like clutches a fuel pumps, minor jobs like tires and brakes. Always good work. Send your TireRack tires here. They will get them installed and lined up with far more attention to detail than any tire shop. read more

They looked at my Audi for two reasons. One was for an oil leak and the other was for hard starting when the vehicle is hot. They could not determine why it struggles to start when the vehicle is hot. They informed me that the oil leak was coming from the valve cover gaskets (VCG). I already knew it had a leak at the VCG because it is an obvious observation. It also has a leak at the back of the engine that has been occurring several months before the VCG leak. They were not able to determine the source of this leak. They also informed me the mechanic took the vehicle to lunch. I'm so glad the mechanic can take my vehicle to run his/her errand. I was charged a diagnostic fee and I learned nothing that I didn't already know. read more

My sideview mirror was clipped by a truck & I requested an estimate to have it replaced. I gave them my VIN # & asked if I needed to bring the car in & was told no as VIN was sufficient to get part pricing from Honda. I had several conversations w/ Michaela & Matis where I specifically asked if the provided estimate included costs for everything related to replacing my mirror as I needed to provide this estimate to the trucking company for reimbursement, I needed to make sure it did. I was assured that everything was included. The trucking company agreed to issue check for the amount on their estimate. Then the day before I was scheduled to have the mirror installed, Stefan calls me to advise that an add'l $400 is required to program the camera otherwise the mirror would not work! I explained how the mirror was damaged & how I was repeatedly assured estimate included pricing for everything. All he could say was we didn't know & only said "I'm sorry" when I insisted, he own the error. I emphasized that I should not have to pay extra out of pocket expenses due to their error. I stated that since I could not go back to the trucking company to request add'l funds after we agreed on an amount based on Autobahn's initial estimate, Autobahn should offer a good faith accommodation. Stefan flat out said "I'm not paying for this"! I suggested to Stefan that because it was Autobahn's error at the very least, they should offer to split the cost, to which I got the same response! He then put me on w/ Barbara to process my payment refund. I told her the same things to which she responded, "we're already giving you a discount as we're only charging you cost for programming"! I told her this is lousy customer service to which she responded, "says you"! I would NEVER go there for even air in my tires nor recommend anyone to them for service! read more

My manfriend takes his Nissan 370Z and his Cooper there as well...we just said last week that we wouldn't even consider buying a car that Autobahn wouldn't work on. I tell ALL of my clients who ask about a 'good, reliable, HONEST mechanic'.. Autobahn ALL THE WAY! You never leave with the feeling of 'did I really need a new kanooter valve?' Because that is NOT the way they operate. I purchased my Mini from out of state and had an independent inspection done on it, sent that inspection to Peter for him to look it over, he said it looked good...I bought it, had it shipped here an immediately took it to Autobahn for them to do a complete comprehensive inspection done. They noted 5 things that were of concern *with a complete price breakdown* and I had them fix 4 of them...(one was cosmetic and so I'm waiting on that one) Being a girl who takes care of all of her own car stuff, I 100% completely trust Peter and his technicians. They stay busy, (because they are awesome) but they will do their very best to accommodate you and be respectful of your time. To me, its worth the wait. One time my oil light came on in my BMW and I called Peter, I was a little panicky. He said "bring it on down now" since I was concerned. He checked it out right then and there, ended up it was just a little low, he added some oil at no charge, which may seem like a small thing to some people, but to me, it gave me peace of mind and I felt such gratitude to Peter for taking time to come out and check it out for me. Peter and Thomas at Autobahn are the best. Great service. They always let you know what service in necessary and "what's nice to have" and the cost for both. Thomas even fixed our seat heater (loose wires) at no charge. So nice to get our foreign cars serviced on the SOUTH side and not have to drive up to the dealership on the north side. I have been to many service centers in the Indianapolis Area and this is by far the BEST! Thomas was extremely helpful and managed to squeeze me in before his vacation even though he was understaffed. He provided me with fantastic service (even asked me to make sure that there weren't any recalls on my car--wouldn't want to pay when you can have something done for free). My X5 broke down on my way from Chicago to Louisville. Peter the owner was kind enough to inspect my car on short notice Thursday afternoon and gave me a ride to pick up my car rental. Within a couple hours they diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. Parts arrived late Friday and Peter and his team stayed late to complete the repairs. I was able to continue my business trip and pick up the car Sunday. Communication throughout the entire ordeal was professional and timely. Peter went beyond what would be expected. Because it was an emergency repair, I took my car to the dealer when I returned to Chicago. The comment from the dealer was that I was lucky to find such a knowledgeable mechanic for a BMW so close to where I broke down and that his work was excellent.
