I've now purchased two cars from Autobakers, a Porsche Cayenne for my wife in June of 2024 and, most recently this June a Mercedes Benz E63 AMG for myself and both experiences have been outstanding. I had my drivers license application in hand, if that was an actual issue your guy being the professional he should have been could have easily articulated my lack of an actual drivers license was the reason behind me not being able to drive it on the highway rather than the shady lie he went with. I'm glad I didn't get the deal done with you, I had additional information to provide for financing that would have been of great use to the bank that Eugene turned down, which was a second red flag. One of the things I use to gauge whether I'm going to buy a car from a dealer is their genuineness. I look to see if they're trying to sell me a car solely to make money or because they genuinely want me in something that works for my budget and for my transportation needs. Frank, at Autobakers passed the test. He was patient, kind, I felt comfortable and at home, and I could tell he was not only trying to make money. The price fit my budget, and it was the exact car that I was looking for. I would have given them a five but the only drawback is I didn't realize the brakes were an issue until I drove down the mountain from where I live. The moment I put the brakes on to take a curve, the car and steering wheel started to shake. I know the brakes were checked, but I'm not sure they did a thorough job as far as taking them off to see the amount of wear and tear and looking at the rotors to see the amount of wear and tear. However, I will still go back to them to buy another car because I don't fault them for the brakes. I wish it didn't have to come to this but... once again another dirty car sales business to disappoint you. They'll clear codes on a faulty vehicle and sell it to you for an affordable "too good to be true" price. Unfortunately for them, I'm a little more intelligent than they probably expected. I took it in for a full diagnostic test at another mechanic. No problems were mentioned in the CARFAX report or smog test by the dealer -- specifically said it was in "great shape". But from a quick OBD2 scan, it clearly did NOT pass the emissions readiness test. And after 2 days of driving it, oil light came back on. So after speaking with multiple other mechanics who said "I wouldn't give my daughter this car, you should take it back". Once I did, they kept reiterating that I signed the contracts knowing I was buying the car without warranty and it was "as is" (the only warranty was 5 days or 500 miles - which I knew and was well aware of). Mechanic from the full diagnostic I got said it looked like the oil was fresh but other issues were overlooked and hidden from the reports. They let me return it without much of a problem, so I guess they don't mind doing bad business to make a quick $500 on a restocking fee. Worst part? I even had my parents visiting with me and they had come up for my mom's immunotherapy appt for her stage 4 metastatic melanoma cancer and I EVEN SAID THAT. I'm a pretty nice person to everyone and the shitty people will always take advantage of that. 1. Do better Eugene. 2. Shame on you Autobakers. 3. Karma will always run its course. read more

Let me start off by saying I have worked in several dealerships both as a car salesperson and as a customer relations manager for years in the early 2000s. That said, I don't find utobakers as a reputable dealership. This is regarding the 2015 Volvo S60 at 42,000 mi, reddish/orange in color for a little over $15,000. I would normally give them 1, but gave them a second star because they were polite even when they weren't being honest. I live over an hour away, so I made an appointment (work by appt only). I took a test drive in the Volvo. I had set up an appointment for a mechanic to see it before I bought it. Mechanic told me the air conditioning wasn't working at all. He was surprised that they would even put it out on the lot to sell it. I let Autobakers know. They said they'd have it fixed, no problem. I let him know if he got the part from a Volvo dealership and had an authorized mechani install it. It would have a lifetime warranty. No problem, he said. There's a Volvo Master Mechanic at the shop where we're having it fixed (first lie). They called me several days later and said it was ready. I asked for the name of the shop they had it fixed. I called that shop. I asked about their warranty. They said they give a warranty on the installation, but not the part because it was brought to them by the dealership and it wasn't a new part. I went back to Autobakers and asked about the warranty. They said the mechanic gives the warranty (lie #2). When I told him what the mechanic said, and added I don't want to spend $15,000 on a car and the next month have to spend $1100-1500 on fixing the a/c conditioner. Because you put in a part from a junkyard. He said, "Well, I'm not going to admit or deny it came from a junkyard (lie #3)." You just did! I asked if he would give me a warranty. He said, "our customer's are like family. If it happens, we'll fix it for you. Are you willing to put that in writing. No, I can't do that (lie #4). I asked him to lower the price of the car. He said, "No, the price is the price." I asked him to ask his boss. He told me the boss is in Europe and he will say no too. I'll leave that up to the reader if they think that was a lie, as well. I asked him to run the numbers anyway. I had recently been involved in a car accident. My car was totaled, and I was hurt in the accident. Desperate to find a car, I ignored all these red flags I'm telling you about. He said it was $365 over what I had. I asked if he would take off the $365. He said no. I left and will never do business with them and suggest you do the same! read more

BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD AT A CAR DEALERSHIP EVER!!! I usually lease a new car but this time I decided to shop for a used one and I looked online for days hoping to find a good deal preferably buying directly from the car's private owner. I was determined to get a BMW 5 series and comfortable with higher mileage because I know if you take good care of them, BMWs will perform for way longer than you think. Eventually, I expanded my search to car dealerships, and that's when I came across AUTOBAKERS website. Right away I noticed the quality and variety of brands and models available on their lot. I also liked the prices given the mileage and year of their cars. In other words, I felt that their prices (which by the way are non-negotiable) were very fair as if the original owner priced them and not a dealer. Still, I proceeded cautiously because of the stigma that car dealerships get, and for a reason. It has gotten better lately for sure, but plenty of businesses will take advantage of you very happily if you let them. Before I sent them a text, I read most of the reviews both bad (very few) and many good, and something sounded refreshingly honest and true about AUTOBAKERS. I decided to get an appointment and met with Frank, one of the salesmen and he's from the gate the kind of person you would enjoy having a coffee and a good conversation with, and he did a fantastic job answering my questions and making the whole purchasing process very easy. Everything is stated very clearly on their website as to what you get and how much you pay for it, no surprises, no bs of any kind. And when I checked the car and found it had a couple of issues like the trunk mechanism wasn't working properly, and a warning about "low oil engine pressure" came up which worried everybody and turned out to be a sensor issue, they ordered and paid for the parts needed, and this was taken care by Russell, another super nice young man who spends the whole day connecting between the dealership and the car shops they work with always with a smile and a very positive disposition. The parts were installed by EURO AUTO SERVICE, an auto repair shop near Glendale that works with AUTOBAKERS and is owned and run by Lipo and Zaza, who look like they could play bad guys in a James Bond movie, but in fact, are the nicest and most caring guys ever! They took care of the issues and now my beautiful car, a 2015 BMW 528i is good to go! What do I appreciate the most about this whole experience? Everybody's work ethic and HONESTY! Even at the midst of the Pandemic, communications were quite thorough and info packed. Eduard answered many questions about details of the car, and provided many photos to refer to. I drove up from OC and took the car for a thorough test drive, then returned to look through Carfax again, and go over details with Sam in the office. We signed the deal, and I took the car home. Ask yourself why this place hasn't had a review on Yelp for 6 months? We went over on a weekend afternoon and it was Deadsville, USA. Not a soul on the lot. Had to go in the office to get help. A heads-up: this place doesn't have salespeople, they're just order takers. All they want is buyers coming in with a smile and a bag of money. They aren't entirely interested in a sale as much as they have a chip on their shoulder by absolutely not budging on their prices no matter how serious you are. I was on a quest to replace my 2004 BMW 325Ci convertible with a like car, was looking all over the country and methodically having prepurchase inspections done on low to moderate mileage BMW 325Ci's. I had already methodically plowed through 5 PPI's of BMW 325Ci's, only to find that those respective dealerships had egregiously lied about and hid each car's flaws (which were substantial). I was starting to lose all faith in finding a road worthy car and/or finding an honest used car dealership, when I saw a 2006 BMW 325Ci with only 51k miles on Carfax through AutoBakers. From the start, Frank was honest, patient and to the point. I had lots of questions, asked for lots of additional photos, arranged for the prepurchase inspection, and Frank and the others made sure I had honest answers. The PPI did turn up a coolant leak, multiple oil leaks and a number of other mechanical issues. AutoBakers kindly agreed to pay for the coolant leak so that the car would be road worthy. The process took longer than usual as I am out of state and I asked for a ton of verification, but they were unphased and treated me with dignity and respect. Their communication was timely and flawless as I worked through my trust issues and grew to trust them explicitly. Currently the car (which is now mine) is on their lot until the fires die down and my shipper can get into LA and they are very nicely taking care of it for me. Bought a 2010 Subaru Outback with 117,000 miles on it from Eric for 12,500 cash all-in. When I inquired about financing, he said Westlake Financial requires the purchase of an aftermarket warranty. I declined since I don't like non-factory warranties. So I assumed the risk and bought with cash. The Carfax looked good, but I learned not to put too much faith in that as I will describe here later. The car had a squeaky right front brake rotor upon first test drive and Eric said it would be looked at by his mechanic. When I came to pick it up, he said, "The mechanic said it squeaks because it is 'new'". I found that vague and odd. I asked hime if the timing belt had been replaced as it should every 100,000 miles. It is critical because it has an interference engine. He said no it has a timing chain (it is a mixed-results search topic and there is conflicting info online). When actually buying the car I asked again and he seemed agitated with me, pretty much rude about it. I knew he wasn't looking into it hard enough though he was adamant about it. Also complained about stupid customers as he was frustrated with a lady on the phone when I first walked in. All red flags aside, I bought the car. I drove it around the first day finally enjoying a nice car for all my hard work and unusually hard luck with vehicles. It was a great car for a few hours. I went a couple miles to the market on the first day, Saturday 5/28/22, right before dark and came home. I heard the dreaded engine knock sound when almost home and then when I pulled in the driveway, there was steam coming out from under the hood! It looked like from the radiator cap but was hard to locate which is unusual. The next day it took a little over one full jug of half/half coolant to fill the radiator and reservoir back up. I drove it again and heard knocking, took videos of the drive. Brought it to my local mechanic on Tuesday and said a head gasket is failing. He showed me. Took the radiator cap off when cold and started the car. When he hit the throttle, coolant blew out of the radiator from the cylinder pressure mixing with cooling system pressure. With cap back on, the hoses got very hard with pressure. Between that and knocking, this was a sick vehicle. My mechanic said take it back ASAP. BTW, my mechanic found a service record sticker on the timing cover "Timing belt replaced" so yeah there you go Eric. Autobakers puts a 5 day return policy in their contracts. You pay $250 up front and another $250 if you exercise the option to return. When I told Eric I will exercise my return option on the phone and he asked why, I said I was concerned about the engine. He chuckled lightly maybe nervously and never asked another question. Eric did not show up for the return, he left that to a couple young guys there. I got my money back minus $500 but that's a small price to pay for ignoring the red flags and some of the Yelpers that warned accurately. Just the "Autobakers is like a bakery for cars" slogan is so cheesy and weird, I take responsibility for second-guessing. If they cared at all about always succeeding in heartless, careless used car sales, they would check the fluid levels and condition and maintenance of their cars on the lot. But they are in the biz of selling a reliability gamble with a warranty. If that Outback had enough coolant in it, it may have never knocked and blown steam in time for me to catch it. But that's okay, Autobakers listed it again for the same price just a few days later. I just checked today (a month later) and it is not listed anymore. There is no way these guys had the repairs done in a few days as that would require a sense of urgency regarding honesty and ownership of deeds. The only sense of urgency is putting greed before doing what is right. I feel sorry for any poor person that may have bought it and got taken. In my experience, Autobakers is like a bakery that burns people. One more thing, to be fair. I should have had my mechanic or a reliably-sourced/referred mechanic look it over before buying. I own that. So if you favor the good reviews over the negative or cautionary reviews and just have to buy from these guys, you better have a GOOD mechanic look it over THOROUGHLY first. From now on, I will only buy used from factory dealer certified or from a person with a personal long-term care relationship with a car. I will never use this type of dealer again. Bought a low mileage though older Prius from Edward at Autobakers. Took it to an " Prius Expert" to check it out completely. After $135 and 90 minutes we were told this car needed about $3000 in repairs right away and another $3200 for when the ABS system failed "Soon". Needless to say I panicked. I texted Edward about it not too pleased and about to return the car. Now Edward could have ghosted me, or told me off, "It's a used car, what do you expect?" But he was calm and offered to take it back right away - no worries. But before I returned the car and took a $350 hit on "Restocking Fee" I got a second opinion from my own local mechanic - $980 for everything - ABS is fine - cross that bridge much later. It's fixed. I'm taking one star off for the $980, it is a used car, but otherwise - smoothest car purchase I've ever had and will buy from them again. Ask for Edward. read more
