Four days later, I got a crack over the A-pillar of my windshield that spread and required a new windshield. Because the vehicle was so new, I could only replace the windshield at Hyundai. It took me 6 weeks, more than 40 phone calls and 3 in-person visits to 4 Hyundai dealers to get it replaced. The part WAS available, but Hyundai's service departments no longer answer their phones with people. It was a horrible, frustrating experience. So when I got a ship in the replacement windshield less than 7 months later, I was terrified of needing to go back to Hyundai. I immediately called a few glass shops about crack repairs. I didn't mention I had insurance, because I wanted to see who would be the fairest priced. Sam offered me both the best price, and the best response over the phone "I'll try to save your windshield." The chip was not in a great location (just over the dashboard) and the crack had already begun to spread, so it was a tough repair. When I arrived, Sam took time to explain the process to me, as well as any possible risks. He didn't obligate me to proceed, he gave me the option to do so with full disclosure. He mentioned that some people don't like this approach - they would prefer to just be told "everything will be OK." I understand that, but I will say that personally I MUCH prefer being given the accurate information and then having the opportunity to make my own decision with no pressure. Obviously, I proceeded with the repair despite the risks, since NOT doing the repair would have just guaranteed that I needed a replacement. When the repair was complete, it looked great. The crack was barely visible (an unexpected but happy outcome for me), and it has now held for over a week of driving. I had a chip in my windshield and my insurance company set up an appointment with Auto Glass of San Diego to do a mobile repair (fill). Auto Glass of San Diego gave me a four-hour window on Friday, and said the technician would call 30 minutes prior to arriving. After waiting around all morning and not receiving a call or visit, I finally called them 30 minutes after the allotted window and was told that the technician was in North County, 1.5 hours away, supposedly stuck in traffic. It was never explained to me why they scheduled back-to-back appointments at opposite ends of the county, didn't plan for Friday traffic on Rt. 5, and hadn't bothered to call and let me know they were running late. Despite misgivings, I decided to give Auto Glass of San Diego another chance, and had them reschedule for Monday morning, this time in an hour window, for the first appointment of the day to ensure that the technician would not be running late. Imagine my frustration when they no-showed AGAIN! This time when I called, I was told that the technician was "only" 30 minutes away, and would head to my location next. I told them to cancel the appointment, and will be letting my insurance know about my experience.

We were told by all the other contractors that our doorway was a weird size, and that they were unable to install the doors without cutting into our drywall and stucco and removing our patio stairs. We were also told this would be a project that took multiple days. I posted our other quotes to Yelp to see if other contractors could beat it, and Sivan responded. Oded from Sivan came in and confirmed what I suspected: That what we were told by other contractors was wrong, and that they could easily replace our sliding patio doors with French doors with a lock, and that it could be done via retrofitting and would only take a matter of hours. Everyone at Sivan was easy to work with. My husband and I frequently have meetings during the day, so it's hard to have a call about house stuff. Everyone at Sivan was able to communicate via e-mail and text so we could handle things while in meetings, and they were super responsive even though we sometimes took months to respond because we had a baby since we originally reached out to them. We were able to get our doors done for $4,298.80, which was the best quote we had from any contractor and included labor, materials, and a warranty. What nice guys! I was gone when they first came by so they called to see what would be a good time for me later that day. When they came and saw the chip, Roberto suggested that I replace the whole windshield (since my insurance covered it) even though it meant he would have to go get the parts and come back. They stayed late to do the work, and after poking good-natured fun at me for how dirty my car was, proceeded to clean the whole exterior after installing the glass. So I ended up with a beautiful new windshield, a clean car, and some good laughs. So happy there are good people like this around. read more

My scion xb windshield was badly cracked from a rock while driving. I woke up and looked at several sights for window replacment and this was the cheapest by about a hundred dollars. I called them at 9 am for a quote and had a new windshield by 1:30 pm. The driver was very friendly and took him about 30 minutes to put the new windshield in. I can't recommend them enough.
