Had been coming here for years but I'm done now. Brought my car in on November 12th when they opened for a tire rotation and oil change. They said it would be done by noon. It wasn't and they forgot about it until we called 30 minutes before they closed. The issue is while my car was there they moved into onto the street and at 11:01 am my car received a parking ticket. I found out about it today when I received the follow up notice from the ticket left on my car. Staff must have removed the ticket and tossed it and decided to not to tell us. I now have a $100 fine to pay when my car wasn't in my possession until 4 pm. We also spent more money than planned and dropped almost $400 at the shop as they suggested protection for the catalytic convertor. Horrible customer service that you wouldn't let a customer know they received a $100 parking ticket. read more

Scam much? If Autohaus did a quality job identifying the issues with a 10 year old car, I would have not agreed to services totaling $4k in a month. I brought my car in because the engine sounded funny, the oil light went on and off, and it had a hard time shifting gears. They had my car for over a week, apparently they didn't check the oil levels or serpentine belt. I had to call them every day to get anything done; they kept forgetting or someone was out. They replaced $1600 worth of suspension, tried to charge me $1900+ but never asked for approval to do the work. Nothing else was wrong they claim. I get the car back. It makes more noise. I bring it to Honda. The engine oil is DRY and belt about to snap from dry rot. Rear brakes are at 3mm and routers need to be replaced. read more

Autohaus is great. I have taken my Audi there a few times now. The communication from the front desk to the actual person working on your car is excellent. I was kept informed the entire time my car was being worked on, and options were provided to me each time. I know this is a family owned business, and I feel like Gary and the team treat me like a member. Always transparent and honest. For example, Audi told me that the rubber bushing in my control arms were worn and needed to be replaced. Of course Audi was happy to do the bare minimum and charge the most. This shop replaced the entire control arm for the same price as Audi's rubber. read more

It seemed like they worked harder to save me money than I did! That's actually a serious statement. Anthony, Steve and Gary were all great and making sure that I understood what was going on during my repair. Bottom line upfront I'm gonna use them again and I recommend them to everybody I can. Reliable, patient, trustworthy, friendly, and above all professional. For those that with the details: they explained to me that they didn't want to replace additional parts that no longer were showing up on the check engine list until I had driven the car a few hundred miles. They explained to me this is an issue when working with exhaust systems. Replacing sensors can be tricky in clearing codes for an emissions test. When the light came back on and I wanted to replace additional parts, they explained to me what was going on and showed me that I probably wouldn't have to replace the parts, if I drove until the codes cleared. Even if I have to replace the parts I'm confident it will be because they need replacing and not because I'm working with someone who just wants to make money off my car. Stay away. Don't waste your time or theirs. After my previous review and experience in June of this year, I recently returned for a rumbling/grinding when I accelerated. They said they didn't know what it was and couldn't hear anything. A few days later, I took it to a different mechanic. He was able to hear it, let me know what it was, and said that it wasn't something that needed fixing right now. Note: in speaking with this new mechanic, I mentioned an issue that Autohaus had fixed in June, but had had a hard time initially diagnosing. He immediately knew what it had been just by me describing it. At Autohaus, it took three return visits and four mechanics to figure out the issue. This new mechanic also was able to fix/replace studs on my tires that Autohaus didn't mention that I was missing. Three of four tires were missing studs and/or lugnuts, and had been for a while based on the wear. I am now convinced that Autohaus doesn't drive the cars before working on them, because (1) the first time around in June, they checked my breaks multiple times. I returned and drove with Xavier. He immediately identified what was making the sound as soon as we were driving it. (2) if they had driven the car, they would have heard the grinding it was making this time around I think one issue at Autohaus is that when you drop your car off, you don't speak to the actual mechanic, but rather people who take notes about what you say. The mechanic cannot dialogue with you or ask questions to try to create a bigger picture to create a diagnostic. So far so good. I had big problems with another very dishonest Indy shop in Lincoln Park so I decided to come here. Spoke with Angel and Gary. They were very professional. I needed to get front and rear brake jobs done for my MB SUV. (brake pads, rotors, sensors). They told me on the phone how much the cost would be and what brand parts they would be using when I asked. They told me they use OEM parts, which I was doubtful. I just got home and was able to confirm the brake pads are OEM MB Parts. The pricing was good. I know a lot about my cars and I can fix most things on them but I just don't have the tools, time or the space so I am happy to find a nice indy shop. I will be using these guys from now on and will be recommending them to my customers and friends as well. I use yelp to look up things and bookmark things but never to write reviews. The way I got ripped off from the previous shop and by Gary helping me I decided to write a positive review for them. Thank you Gary for your fair pricing and great service today.
