I had already initiated bids through TrueCar, which proved to be a very unsatisfying and unproductive experience in comparison to what I'd experienced four or five years ago. No more TrueCar for me. I recently bought an electric car through Autoland. it was a good price. i got a free day return on the car. On the first day the headlight went out. I took the car to my local dealership to get the headlight replaced.They confirmed that my electric battery was only good for another 7 months of warranty and could cost me in excess of $8000, which explains why when charging the battery it took a charge but decreased quickly just driving from my driveway. I returned the car within my 3 day grace period for free. They found another car for me but it was marked up more than $2000 from what the dealer advertised price was. I found all vehicles they sent to me were advertised less on Autotrader.They didn't mention that their service raised the price, and didn't expect that I was looking behind the scenes to check the prices. So there is no savings with this service except they have the paperwork ready and deliver the vehicle. Check the price before you buy at the source on Autotrader, if it is marked up, you are paying Autoland a commission .Buyers beware! read more

It felt so weird waiting for the day of signing and having 1 car to choose.. And 2, I didn't like the fact that it's not inspected in person, my trade in. Because I mentioned no paint on roof, so therefore I had to pay for a paint job on my trade in after sales and contract was signed. I got a call couple days later and I got so upset yes! It's was not mentioned in signing. But it was in contract... Oh well lesson learned. I just wish they inspected trade ins ln person. Anyways I would still buy form them again yes for sure!! Let me state at the top that my experience with the Autoland staff was overall pleasant. But at the end of the day, Autoland seems better suited for those who are in the used car market than the new car market. Truthfully I might consider using them again if I ever wanted to buy a used car (where pricing is a little more transparent). However, this review reflects my attempt to purchase a new car through them. I heard about Autoland through our credit union. It sounded great. Send them a list of cars you're considering, they find killer prices because of their connections, and deliver your pick to your door? What a deal! Because, like 99% of Americans, I LOATH going into dealerships. My wife and I initially asked for quotes on about 4 cars/trims total, but were leaning heavily towards one. When speaking to our rep on the phone regarding our number 1 pick, she asked, "What are you looking to pay for it?" which struck me as odd. I was looking to pay as little as possible, right? Weren't they supposed to have all of the connections to help me do that? When the rep got back to me with a price on our top pick, their quote was basically the MSRP of the car, which was $800 over the TrueCar value. So I emailed about 6 dealers throughout the area. I never mentioned Autoland or the price they quoted me; I just asked them for their best price. And low and behold, each one of them quoted me better prices than Autoland, and on their first quote. I also found out I qualified for incentives that Autoland never told me about. So at the end of the day, I got the car I wanted for $2000.00 below the price Autoland quoted me. I gave Autoland a chance to counter, but they said they couldn't. I fully admit, maybe I misunderstood what Autoland's function was supposed to be. Maybe they were oversold by my credit union. At the end of the day, you have nothing to lose by at least getting a price from Autoland. Just don't expect them to be an advocate for you. I turned out to be my own best advocate. TL;DR - I'm sure Autoland is a great service for those desperately wanting to avoid the dealership, but don't take their price as the best price. If you're buying a new car and value saving money over your time, you're probably better off resorting to the time-honored tradition of pitting dealers against one another. read more

After two sojourns through Orange and LA County only to get "bait and switch" experiences with other car buying services, I went to my credit union where the Autoland buyers hooked me up with exactly the CAR (not truck) I wanted (American!--hard to find in SoCal!)!
