The best repair shop I have found. I have been having cars repaired and tune ups done at AutoLogic for 30 years now, they are honest, stand by their work, and have even sent me home several times without a charge. I have had large and small repairs done and took all four cars, my car, my wifes car, and the two kids cars, to this shop for the last 30 years for probably a couple dozen visits. If you want, like I do, someone who can do quality work, stand behind the work (they replaced a part that failed after a repair at no cost to me) and not repair things that do not need to be repaired then look no further than AutoLogic. I will be sad if I move from the area and have to try to find an honest repair shop again. read more

First of all, let me just say that I HATE car repair shops. I am a small woman who looks about sixteen, and "Will I be taken advantage of and screwed out of all my money?!" is always running through my head when my car does something stupid. I try to take my car to places that, through word-of-mouth, I've heard are relatively honest - problem is, those are also relatively expensive and usually VERY far from a convenient location. A couple weeks ago, I was trying to get home from work and my car decided to crap out. Strange lights were coming on and a rather frightening burning smell started coming out of the engine, so we pulled into a gas station in Kirkland. Luckily, I was with my boyfriend and a carpooler (Microsoft carpool alias, you rock!) who belongs to AAA. He called and arranged for them to tow my car somewhere, and then we spent an hour sitting in my freezing-cold car, drinking beer out of paper bags. The AAA towing guy came and dropped my car off at a predetermined location, Autologic. Apparently, AAA will tow you for free if it's within five miles, so I told them to find somewhere within that radius, and they chose Autologic. I was a little nervous because, although the place is obviously AAA approved, I'd never heard of them and I knew nothing about them beyond what I could sort-of read on Yelp, via my boyfriend's iPhone. I dropped off my keys and everything, and the next morning, I recieved a number of calls from Jim at Autologic. I was at work - and rather busy - so I wasn't able to answer my phone. It was a little irritating to be called FOUR times, but I actually sort of appreciate that they took the effort to get a hold of me - especially because I'd MUCH rather talk to people before any repairs are made. We finally connected and long story short, it was my alternator (which I'd suspected) and my belts were slightly crappy. They offered to replace the belts for no additional labor costs, because they'd already be in there messing with the alternator, so I agreed - I needed new belts anyway. They did try to upsell me on a few things, but the surprising part was, THEY ARE ALL THINGS I KNEW NEEDED FIXING (my headlights are really cloudy, my keys are bent out of shape, I'm coming up on oil-change time). I opted out of all those extras and there was no issue on their end. Jim even told me he had called the Nissan dealership to ask how much it would cost for me to go get a new key ($20) - I appreciated that quite a bit because it saved me the effort of doing that myself. Their website offers discounts for Boeing, AAA, and Microsoft, and I figured I'd use my boyfriend's Prime Card (Microsoft discount card). I told them I wanted the Microsoft discount, dragged my poor boyfriend to Bellevue to pay for my car, and they didn't even ask for proof - sweet! Now, don't all go screwing them over or anything! They also offer the same discount for Microsoft contractors and vendors (it's 10% off, up to $100, and I think the AAA is 10% off up to $50 or something... not sure about Boeing). The total cost was "only" $571, which I hear is a pretty good deal for all I had done (diagnosis, new alternator, new belts, and all the labor). Unfortunately, my car has been squealing, so I called them yesterday to say I thought the belts needed adjusting. All I had to say was, "My name is Krystin T. and I came in a couple weeks ago..." and the guy on the phone said, "Right! The Altima!" I brought my car back in, the guy was very friendly and acted like he knew me, and they checked and adjusted the belts for free. I had to sit in the waiting room, but it was actually not that bad - they had magazines people might actually WANT to read (yes, this is important to me!) and a huge spread of coffee/tea/hot chocolate drinks (sure, it's all instant, but better than nothing, right?). They tried to upsell me again, but they still weren't creepy or douchey about it. I have a two-year warranty on the work they did, and it's semi-close to my work as well. I definitely recommend Autologic (which for some reason I still keep thinking of as "Autolegend") and will be taking my car here in the future. read more

Brought it in and asked them to rotate the tires and check/replace brakes. They told me neither needed to be done yet, the tires were wearing evenly and the brakes still had a few thousand miles left in them. They gave me a computer printout of the diagnostics, very thorough and detailed. Total cost: $0. read more

Auto Logic used to be great--specifically, I felt like these guys cared about their customers, and made an effort to educate them. Even though I'm a woman, they didn't talk down to me, and I felt like they were honest about what needed to be done. The past year, things feel like they've slid. Recently, I needed to make an appointment for a "check engine light" and an oil change. I called on a Monday morning, and after several minutes, my call went to voicemail--ok, it's Monday, people are probably keeping them pretty busy. I never received a call back, even though I clearly left my name and number, and I am a returning customer. When I made my appointment, I dropped off my car less than 30 minutes after they opened (between 7 and 7:30). I made it clear that I needed an oil change, wanted the check engine light checked out, and an estimate on replacing brake pads. They asked for my email address, and told me that I'd get a written estimate via email. Around noon, I checked my mail, and I had a seven page estimate of repairs, totalling over $3000 (my ten year old car has about a $6000 value). There was no explanation in the email for anything, other than a note that my tires were very worn, and they suggested replacing them before winter. I called to ask if the oil change had been done, and they confirmed it had, and I could pick it the car anytime. I came to pick up my car almost four hours later. No information or explanation on the repair list was offered. There's a one line note that the "rotors are warped" in regard to my query about replacing the brake pads. Even though I called around noon, and was told my car was ready, I still waited another 30 minutes while they had to take it off the worklift. Reading through the line-by-line of seven page work completion/work estimate, I finally found a summary that may explain why the check engine light was on. I would have thought "severe engine damage likely to occur, engine will stop running immediately without warning" might be reason to actually talk to someone, rather than let them walk out the door. Sadly, with the service in this state, I won't be going back to Auto Logic. read more

Autologic either intentionally deceived me, or did a terribly poor job at least. They charged me a total $1,088 on a 1997 Ford Escort only to tell me a year later that my car couldn't be fixed without spending another couple of thousand dollars. The car was involved in an accident in Feb 2006. When I first approached Autologic in June 2006, they said they had identified ALL the problems and a guy named Domenic stated that their repair job "would make my car run well for 2 years". A year later, they changed their stories and told me that my car had other bigger problems "apparently" (as they told me) caused by the SAME accident (I don't have other accidents over that period) and needed to cost another couple of thousand dollars. Note, it's a car only worth about $1,500. If it's "apparent", why they didn't tell me at the 1st time? They knew that if they did, I would be scared away and would not make any investment in the car I started working only last year after graduating from a college. $1,088 is a whole lot of money to me when I still owned $40,000 student loan. I made an appointment online a week in advance telling them I expected to need new brake pads and a new power window motor for one door. I dropped my car off in the morning at 8:30 expecting the job to be done that day, but I didn't get a call till 4pm telling me they didn't get to it until late and they needed another day to finish it (!?). I finally got my car the next day @4pm. The front brake pads were replaced, along with the window motor, with free tire rotation. The cost for the brake work was near what they estimated. However, the cost for the window work (estimated $190) ended up being $370. Overall a disappointing experience for a shop that had such high ratings on yelp. Btw: the first-timer discount was only $35 (not 10%) and I did tell them I found them on Yelp. Pro: Staff are curteous and professional. read more

First oil change free plus a free inspection. It's strange picking up your car from a service and not having to shell out any dough. Coming up on 60k service and they went over the estimate. They actually test all the fluids to see if you need to change it. Really? Who does that? You mean 60k service doesn't mean replacing all the fluids/oils? As the man said, "Why waste good brake fluid if it's still good?" Prices are not cheapest in town but it is less than the dealer. Can't comment on quality of work besides an oil change and inspection but I'm confident enough to bring the car back for the next service and recommended them to someone else already. read more

Auto logic did some work on my car. They left the upper left radiator hose loose. The engine over heated and had it towed back to auto logic. They tightened the hose and said for 3 grand they would fix the problem. Thank you auto logic. read more

When I was new in the area my car had to be towed here for an unexpected and expensive repair. The one good thing about that breakdown was that by chance I found these reliable and honest mechanics I now always recommend to friends. Now a few years later I 've been to one or two other mechanics but none I'd give repeat business. In contrast to many repairers, these guys always explain the repairs, give accurate estimates of the time the work will take, and answer my questions considerately and clearly. They've recommended another business when I needed specialty work done, and made good suggestions to my teenage son when he was truck-shopping. read more

I originally brought my car in to Auto Logic due to a check engine light being on and my RPM's started going crazy. The Auto Logic team replaced the Diverter Valve, thermostat and did an extensive battery cleaning. During these repairs my intake manifold was accidentally broken by their techs (replaced at no charge). It did however take significantly longer to get my car back. Once I picked up my car I started driving home (in the snow). I got to about Bothell when my car started completely shutting down on the freeway. The RPM's stuck at 4000 even though my car was not accelerating. The car started overheating and slowing down (on the freeway) and all of the dashboard lights went on. I managed to pull off the free onto an off ramp. At this time it was snowing and icy and I had a few close calls with other cars nearly side swiping me on the side of the off ramp. A few minutes later, my car completely died....not even hazard lights worked. I waited over an hour stuck on the side of the road with no heat, no hazards, in the snow. I called the shop and I was told to bring my car back in to the shop. At the time, I thought I had AAA but, my membership lapsed when my father died and I was unaware of the lapse. I called a local towing company and after waiting for over an hour in 25 degree weather (with no heat) I eventually got my car towed back to the Auto Logic shop. The towing bill was $440 due to "inclement weather day" charge. I was told my recent troubles were caused by an air bubble in the coolant system and after adding some coolant the car should be fine. This took several more days to get my car back due to the large amounts of snow we received. When I picked up my car again, it appeared fine. I began driving home but, before I made it home the engine lights were back on and the original RPM problem was back. I once again brought it back down to the Auto Logic shop. After another inspection it was determined that the transmission was shot. It was recommended I do a transmission flush and replace the battery (that they just charged me to clean) as a last ditch effort to see if that would solve the problem before I did the full transmission (that would cost another $3000) I had nearly three weeks of my car being in and out of the Auto Logic Shop. I spent nearly $1000 + $440 to tow my car back to their shop. After all of this time and money my car still doesn't run. I requested Autologic cover my towing expense but, the Manager refused. His email back to me was rude and ultimately blamed me. The only positive part of this entire ordeal was one of their staff (Jim). He was great. I will never return to this shop. read more

I would definitely recommend them for pre purchase inspection . The report was very thorough . I plan to go to them with my vehicle for repairs once I find my new car. My report was easy to understand and Frank ( who is the owner I assume ) personally went over the details with me and that was pretty nice considering they were already technically closed:) It was money well spent . He was also good to the dealer , he was very neutral and factual. I didn't feel he was discouraging me , more empowering me . He uncovered $3600.00 in unforeseen repairs and also took the time to do a vin check which uncovered more owners than car fax report . My car window has gone really screaky, and I left it unfixed because people have been telling me it can cause me a big buck. Today I was just really fed up with the noise, so I drove by Autologic to get a quote. Manager Doenico came out and checked the car. He told me the issue was just that my window needed lubrication. He lubricated not only the one window that was causing the problem, but checked all 4 windows for me-- for free!! I felt bad and tried to pay him, but he said just remember Autologic when I need my oil change in the future-- You bet Autologic will be the only place I'll do my oil change from now on --as long as I live in the East side!! Honest repair shop. We found our new place. Our go to mechanic retired last year. Had called other shops to get truck in for brakes and was told cost would be $1500-$2000 for front and back. After reading reviews took a chance and couldn't be happier. Front brakes replaced and back brakes needed a little later. Absolutely no push to get it done now. Also, they noticed info on oil change sticker was past due, so suggested we get that done as well. Cost was reasonable and I was extremely pleased with honesty and quality work. A co-worker suggested I take my car to AutoLogic - that was YEARS ago and they have been my mechanics ever since! Most recently I had an issue with my sun roof drain hose, which was sending water into the inside of the car. I first called the dealer and they were not able to schedule me for more than a week later (one day sooner if I did not need a loaner car). The dealer was also unable to ballpark the cost of repair. When I called AutoLogic not only did they get me in the next day, but they also explained what the problem was, how they would fix it, and for how much (which was less than the minimum from the dealer). After reading the raving reviews on yelp, I took my car to Autologic for an oil change, and I'm glad I did. They did an excellent job and charged a low price. I almost felt guilty for getting far more than I felt I paid for. Autologic's standard oil change is very comprehensive. It takes over an hour, and they review all the results in detail with you. There was no hard sell for repairs or future services. Several customers came into their office while I was there, and I was impressed that Domenic, the shop manager, knew everyone by name because they are repeat customers (and maybe he has a great memory, too). One note: the shop front is not obvious. At least it wasn't for me. You don't see the garage. The front door is part of a strip office complex. read more

I I had brought my vehicle to Autologic when the check engine light came on. I chose Autologic based on a referral from my coworker. The technican explained that it would be $113.22 for the work which involved checking why the light was on as well as repairing whatever was wrong as long as it was minor. I agreed to the charge based on the understanding that Autologic would be able to amend the problem. They called a few hours later and said that the problem was a minor computer problem that could be fixed free to charge by the Nissan Dealer. When I went to pick up my vehicle I was informed that I owed $113.22. I explained to the techician that I did not think it was fair to be charged over $100 for the 5 minutes maximum that it takes to do the diagnostic since the didn't do any repairs on my vehicle. I was told that I needed to pay the charge and that no negotiation would be made. The technician refused to eliminate or even slightly reduce the exorbitant charge. Don't make the same mistake I did. Go to Aamco in Bellevue where they'll check your engine light for FREE! read more

I know my way around cars pretty well. With school and work I just don't have the time to take care of it anymore. These guys were awesome about every aspect of the interaction and made me feel as though my Jeep was in good hands. Everyone I talked to was very knowledgeable. What they did: Fixed the charging system (wouldn't start), rear brakes, alignment, front-right steering stabilizer, and the rear hatch latch (wouldn't open). We had budgeted 2500 for the work that we felt the Jeep needed. Autologic came back with an estimate for less than half of that. We let them know when we needed her back and they had her ready to go having just had a bath and even picked up my girlfriend from work. The little things they did really put them over the top for me. I had a squeaky door that I hadn't lubed yet - they took care of it. The clock was set on the radio to the appropriate time... The attention to detail was overwhelming! The main plus: They explained everything they had done to my girlfriend without treating her like an idiot. Also - they let us know things that would most likely need to be done in the next 6-12 months but weren't necessary right away. Everything that they advised us was exactly what I was thinking as well. I couldn't recommend these guys enough! I've been looking for a decent mechanic in the Seattle area since I moved here in 2009 and finally found one with Autologic. I live just north of downtown Seattle and will definitely be taking my Jeep and the Pontiac to these guys as long as I possibly can. Even when we move north into Edmonds we'll still be taking the cars to Autologic. read more

I have used this shop at least 4 times but not anymore. I came for a simple break inspection which cost me $70 and after the diagnosis for front breaks and back breaks the cost was going to be $1, 656! I couldn't believe it! Then I asked how much would it be only to fix the front breaks and they told me $935 and that they needed to replace the rotors, pads and calipers, oh, and that price included a $30 discount. They were so insistant that they even offered me a loan car so I could drive til the next day when my car was going to be ready. I had a feeling something was extremely wrong with the price so I searched on Yelp again and found a shop in Kirkland that they specialize on breaks only and they gave a qoute for $375 including everything that Autologic told me they needed to repair. Of course I didn't let Autologic do any work on my car and went straight to Kirkland. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this shop, they will charge you an arm and a leg and probably your firstborn for any fix! read more

The workmanship was great, and Domenic was terrific throughout the process - providing options and accurate quotes. I have long been a fan of AutoLogic, but started questioning. I repair my car myself when I'm not that busy, but decided to let them fix this time. Nowadays, you can get brand new reliable Japanese brand parts so quickly online (such as Buy.com), but AutoLogic provided re-built parts for a lot higher price, claimig that "parts for older cars are harder to get" which is not true at all . I had some work done on my VW, and was not impressed. Continually tried to up-sell: from $200 for new spark plugs and in-cabin air-filter, to a $100 diagnostic service because my bike rack was making a rattling noise, to telling me that my timing belt needs to be replaced (this car has a timing chain). The oil change and inspection came to $150. That's more than the dealer would have been. Not impressed by their knowledge of VWs nor prices. read more

I was driving my car to work and suddenly I noticed that the thermometer spiked up to the highest and smoke was coming out from the hood which freaked me out. I pulled my car over to the nearest lot and called AAA for help. By the way I highly recommend AAA membership especially if you're a female or have very little knowledge of cars - very affordable and helpful. Anyhow, I called AAA to have my car towed and AutoLogic was their highest preferred auto repair shop in Bellevue. I knew I could trust AAA as I have used them in the past with great success. My car was towed to AutoLogic and the shop met my every expectation. The staff members were extra friendly, repair cost was affordable (even gave me a $35 first time customer discount) and they only fixed what was necessary. I felt very comfortable speaking with the staff members and they were very honest and genuine which is hard to find in this industry. My car was also repaired w/in 2 days - this is because I brought my car in on a monday which is the busiest day - so considering this, the repairs were done quickly. It turned out that the radiator hose needed replacing and the fan belts as well. My car is now in good condition and I would definitely return to AutoLogic in the future! read more

My husband and I have taken our cars here for at least 13 years. We always get a full diagnostic report and we trust them to fix what needs fixing and never "upsell" us. The staff is professional and friendly, and Autologic never has any turnover. The mechanics know our cars because they've been there as long as we've been taking our cars there! I came by for a free break inspection and they were super knowledgeable and gave me a full report on how my pads were and so on. Didn't try to charge me for any unnecessary fixes and they even rotated my tires because they noticed some tread wear... for free! I'm definitely coming here for my next service. read more

On the Thursday before Christmas, my daughter was stranded in the evening at Bellevue Square with her Mazda Tribute radiator shooting steam and water. AAA towing rescued her and towed her car to Autologic, and despite the Holiday crush, they repaired the broken hose, ran a check on other systems to make sure it was okay, and had the car ready for her on Friday afternoon. They were so courteous and complimented her about what good care she had taken of her car. They even found on their computer that she had brought in her former Mazda to them ten years ago for a new alternator ( they've been in business since 1971)! On the way home, as it turned dark, we noticed that a front headlight had burned out. We went back and asked if they could replace the bulb for us as well, even though they were getting ready to close. They did and wouldn't let us pay for the installation! Merry Christmas! They are so handy in Bellevue, just off Bel-Red. Lucky for us AAA knew such a good place to take the car!!! As a senior citizen, I'm so happy to know about a good and honest automotive repair shop!!! A simple problem was misdiagnosed the first time around. They charged me $300 to flush the power steering fluid system when it was not needed. When the symptoms reappeared the very next day, I took the car back and they said wanted another $300 to replace the worn off brake pads. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not only the technicians are incompetent, they try to oversell and instill panic in customers to make money. read more

I've used this shop over the years for repairs I'm unwilling to tackle myself, but never again. As a result of their last "service" at 100K miles I have had to replace a radiator (side tank seal broken by some meathead opening the drain to get a fluid sample) and now a spark plug popping out of the head after not being properly torqued (maybe buy the same ham fisted technician). They also were unable to diagnose a problem that started after they replaced the plugs in a timely manner, and their worthless general diagnosis cost more than the eventual fix. So unless you can sit with the tech and know what he's doing, find another repair shop! read more
