5/5: Efficient, private, and exactly what I needed for a spontaneous sauna session!…read more I booked this on impulse during spring break, Wednesday at 2:30pm, and rated it 5/5 based on how quick and easy the booking process was through the Mindbody app Deals section, just a few hours in advance. The experience itself was equally efficient and sufficient. Think of it like a deli style, quick in & out sauna and cold plunge experience without the extra bells and whistles of a traditional spa. I reserved the Contrast Therapy Suite 2 XL, which includes a sauna, cold plunge (metal bath tub), and standing shower, $95 for 60 minutes. The suite also has a bench, hooks, and a shelf for belongings, so no locker is needed. You get the entire private suite to yourself or your group, up to 4 people. It's comfortable for 3 to lie down in the sauna, and spacious enough for 4 seated. The cold bath and shower are one person at a time. There is a speaker to connect your phone for music, though pairing did not work for me. There is also a remote control for different color lighting, which adds a nice touch. I would describe the "cold plunge" more accurately as a cold soak, since it is a bathtub rather than a standing ice plunge. That said, I really appreciated the full privacy of the suite. You don't have to move between shared spaces, and you can fully relax, even be completely nude if you choose, which my husband especially appreciated for his first experience. The facility itself is compact: - 4 single sauna rooms (no shower, and I was told it's recommended to wait at least 30 minutes before showering after sauna) - 2 private Contrast Therapy suites Suite 1 fits up to 2 people seated in the sauna with red infrared, and is ideal for one person if you want to lie down comfortably. Cold bath and shower are also one at a time. Andrea was the staff member during my visit, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. It is on the pricier side for a 60 minute session without a steam room, but I truly value the efficiency, simplicity, and privacy, especially for those who are always on the go. Parking: free, unlimited street parking on most streets around the studio. They offer memberships and intro packages depending on your needs. I would definitely return when I want sauna access without planning days or weeks ahead like traditional spas. I would book Suite 1 for solo use on my next visit, or Suite 2 XL again if sharing the space privately with friends. A great option when you want a straightforward, no-fuss sauna experience on your own schedule.

She even sent me home with little seeds glued to strategic points I could press when I became overwhelmed. I was so grateful. She also takes insurance, which was a big help for me. Cannot recommend her and her wonderful spa enough.

I made a second appointment and he didn't show up for the appointment. His front desk staff, who seem pretty clueless, didn't even realize he wasn't in the building. They tried calling him to no avail. At this point, it was 20 minutes past my appointment time. I told them I would never come back, it was so ridiculous. Some of the most unprofessional behavior I have ever encountered. I did receive an apologetic email from Dr. Becker, but he didn't even have a valid excuse. He was just on a trip and forgot to check his email for Monday appointments. I would advise looking elsewhere for a ND. It's also a strange experience to be in a waiting room with people who are in bathing suits and bathrobes as they also have a hot tub/soaking tub and are a wellness center.

Some truly wonderful graffiti/urban art in the surrounding area. I digress. So this place is located inside of a modernish residential building. You would not know there is a SPA inside unless you actually go into the establishment, get checked in, and take the elevator up to the actual SPA. There you will see two nicely sized hot tubs and a cold plunge tub. Be warned that cold plunge is COLD! Opposite the tubs are the dry sauna and steam room which are HOT and the steam room is steamy! It does not take long to get a good sweat going, and before you know it you can feel the toxins and bad juju just melting away. They several types of water to re-hydrate room temp and cold water and sparkling water. I do believe I saw some plates that had oranges or apples or something of the sort. Be sure to try one of the foot scrub baths and massage. It really is the perfect tonic for pampering and stress relief. The massage therapist who handle my feet and calves was super friendly and professional. This foot care scrub and massage really the feet and calves much needed tension relief. There is a wonderful outdoor relaxation deck with lots of lounge chairs and tables to take breaks in between soak, sauna, and steam. This deck area overlooks a portion of the Portland city scape and highway. What made this deck enjoyable for me was waxing existential about what the folks in the cars driving by on the freeway might be thinking as you head back for a second dip into the hot tub. The SPA, locker and shower, and changing areas are all thoroughly maintained, clean, and give you everything you need to transition back into the Portland Urban. A really pleasant and enjoyable surprise Portland surprise.

Think 24 Hour Fitness, but make it wellness. Hot tub, steam, sauna... clean, simple, and the staff are genuinely great. No complaints there. But the experience itself? It's just... basic. Cascada, on the other hand, is a whole different level. The comparison honestly feels like Spirit vs Delta, Holiday Inn vs The Ritz, Nissan vs Lexus. Once you've experienced that level of intention, design, and atmosphere, it's hard to go back. Knot Springs isn't bad, it's just not that. If you're looking for a straightforward soak, it'll do the job. But if you're chasing an elevated, immersive wellness experience... you might leave wanting more.

Tranquility is the word that comes to mind when you stay here. There was a very large group of homeschoolers for some type of retreat but they were all very well mannered and not rowdy at all in comparison to other experiences we have had with large kid groups staying in the same hotel as us.
