It's disappointing to write this because I've been a loyal customer of Automatic Climate for the past eight years -- investing thousands in a full system, paying for regular tune-ups, and referring others. I always thought this was a company that valued relationships. But recently, I was charged $400 for a leak sensor diagnosis for a system was still under warranty -- something that was already diagnosed which is why I called them in the first place as the system was under warranty. I paid it and had it repaired under warranty. More recently, I signed up for a $39 tune-up promo and was double charged without warning or permission, using a credit card I had specifically said I no longer use. Although it was a promo for a tune-up, it didn't specify per system. I wouldn't have minded paying for two systems if they had contacted me to let me know, but they charged me without my consent/authorization, and I don't think this is okay. I gave the company a chance to respond privately, but was met with silence. They did end up charging the correct card, but without any acknowledgement or response to my concerns. That lack of accountability is what finally pushed me to write this. This isn't how you treat loyal customers. I no longer feel comfortable recommending Automatic Climate -- and I truly wish that weren't the case. read more

I was a customer for five years and my biggest regret is that I did not stop using this company sooner. It felt like every time they came out for maintenance service, they found something to nickel and dime me on. The final straw was try to get me to pay an exorbitant price for duct cleaning. When I looked into it, the EPA says duct cleaning has never been shown to actually prevent health problems. I no longer trust this company and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

very poor service. they came out and drained my system and told me I had a leak. it would 2500.00. the part was under warranty but the labor wasn't. they said it would take 6 hours to do the job. I had another company come in and tell me there wasn't any leak but the system was low on coolant. this was in may. I ran the system all summer with out any issues so if there was a leak it would have dropped again. I would not recommend this company for anything. read more

I'm extremely disappointed by Automatic Climate's communication and service. This was a bait and switch! The blower wheels on my mini-splits units have acquired quite a bit of debris, so I called Automatic Climate to request a quote on mini-splits cleaning for my indoor units. The quote they gave me was a bit cheaper than what I had been quoted by other companies in the area for a cleaning. Because of this and their good reviews, I decided to make an appointment. When the technician arrived, however, he only performed routine maintenance on the system. He checked if it worked, he cleaned some of the leaves from the outdoor unit, and then he gave me a quote for what a cleaning would be. Twice as high as others I had received! I called to request some kind of refund, because Automatic Climate made me pay for a service I did not request nor need. However, the company refused to offer even a partial refund, because they "did the service I paid for," even though it's not the one I thought they were doing. It's as though I paid for a painter to come paint my walls, and then they only measured the room! I don't understand why this company has such good reviews given their awful customer service. I cannot recommend them in good faith to anyone. read more

I almost replaced 2 furnaces in my house due to the company saying they were a safety concern. The house was less than 10 years old. I made the mistake and believed them the first time, I flushed the money away. The second time I was smarter. Although, I lost over 4k. Regardless of the quality of service that Automatic Climate provided the one time they visited my home years ago, the company rates one star from me for their, in my opinion, scam-worthy actions ever since: It began a few months after that single visit with a call telling me my renewal fee was due. "Huh? Who ARE you? WHAT 'renewal' fee?" After some back and forth, it turned out not that Automatic Climate had accidentally enrolled me as an annually renewing customer, or even that they'd accidentally put my name on the list with those customers. No: The person calling admitted, with zero shame, that Automatic Climate made such calls to people they knew had declined, or might have declined, the offer of annual maintenance. I said not to call me again, but got called again. And again. And emailed a "Renewal Invoice". Snail-mailed invoices, too, mentioning legal threats for non-payment. After the first, I called Automatic Climate and insisted "No more." I said I considered these contacts harassment at this point. My words were ignored--see photo of most recent invoice. You don't learn until reading halfway down page 2's "Second Attempt" notice that nothing is owed. In my opinion, Automatic Climatic is using misleading intimidation tactics to attempt to collect renewal monies from people, and every person who has paid these "invoices" without first signing a contract is due refunds and possibly damages for emotional distress. No joke. We all have enough freaking stress over money without some obnoxious tactics like these adding more. Shame on you, Automatic Climate. read more

We have used Automatic Climate since the early 90's when we moved into the same neighborhood as the owners. Wanting to support a local business, we began using them to service our heating and air conditioners. For several years we had the same person provide our service (stable company for employment). Now that Jonathan has been promoted, we have service by Josh- a nice polite and engaging young man. Each technician has provided us with excellent service and if there was a problem he worked to fix it. We have replaced both units over the years and feel we received quality work and products. Automatic Climate arrived at my home to check out my water heater, which was leaking water. After being told by the tech PJ that we needed a new water heater, we were quoted a price which was extremely overpriced especially since we had previously did some research on the average cost to replace a water heater. We asked PJ several times to provide us with a breakdown in cost, to only be told by him that the company doesn't provide the customers with a breakdown in cost. As a customer, any reasonable person would want a breakdown in cost regarding labor, parts, materials, and service fees!! Because PJ refused to provide us with a breakdown in cost, this sent up some RED FLAGS!!! My husband insisted on PJ providing us with a breakdown in cost, when he abruptly walked out our house without receiving the company's service fee and he told us to have a nice day! After PJ left out of our house without any closure to our emergency situation, my husband called Michael Snipes the VP of Estimates & Planning with Automatic Climate. My husband explained to Michael that PJ rudely walked out of our house, and that we were requesting a breakdown in cost as well as a lower rate. Michael in-return, became very rude, unprofessional, and loud towards my husband and he stated to my husband that there are 10,000 other companies out here, and for us to take our business elsewhere!!!! Michael showed no remorse, compassion, or professionalism at all to us!! In closing, please BE AWARE of this company if you don't want to be overcharged, or mistreated as a customer. I want to give a review to Automatic climate/ First I want to say Thank you to Sean, I mean he is just awesome. Here we had no air on one of the hottest day in July and he went and got us a portable air condition while his company came out to fix out air handler and he checked on us and he came back on a Saturday to install the portable AC for us. I have never been treated so nice and I can tell he has a genuine heart and he really care for people/ I feel he is good guy and he should teach and show others how people need to be treated and to have empathy for all people. Then there were the worker who acted very professional and did the job perfect and was always very polite and made sure that we were ok. there name were Matt and Taylor, all three of these men are a benefit to Automatics Climate and they should be recognize for their performance and professionalism. I have had a HVAC maintenance contract with Automatic Climate for over 6 years. Not once have I ever considered going with a different company. Their technicians are knowledgeable and professional, always on time, and respectful of your home. I have even used their plumbing services which were equally excellent. They also have an electrician service, though I've never used it before. However, if I need an electrician I know who I am going to call first. Give them a try, you won't regret it. read more

This is one of the best heating and a/c repair companies I've ever used. No problem fixing our unit back up and running. A few companies have been over to repair our heat but could not fix it because of it being GO Thermo system not a problem for these guys check and had us up and running in no time. Derek was outstanding. Provided dryer vent cleaning. Explained problems in laymen terms. He had on mask and gloves throughout service #COVID19. In addition, I explained an HVAC issue I was having with my old system that I'm trying to nurse through one more summer. He explained the issue and the service he could offer to help it. He called the main office they added it to my service for the day and BOOM. We called Automatic Climate when our A/C just up and died. Thank goodness our first floor unit was working! They were able to come out the next day and as we requested called ahead of their arrival. John was not only super nice and friendly, but very knowledgeable! He took the time to make sure things were properly diagnosed then repaired. He also answered the questions we had regarding our system. I would highly recommend Automatic Climate and we plan on calling them in the spring/fall for annual checkups to make sure things are running well. My review is not to express any disappointment in the company's work but rather their pricing. EVERY time in the past I've had a plumber, electrician or air conditioning company to my home the pricing has been based upon three factors. The service visit cost, parts cost and hourly cost. Not these guys. I needed the fan motor replaced on my outside AC unit. I found the motor online for $120 (after the fact) so I figure they paid a little less than a layman does for the same unit. And before anything else is said, yes it's the IDENTICAL unit, I used the part number off the housing and Google. They were running an Angie's list special, $49 off the usual service call of $89. The man arrived at my home at 3:45 PM and left at 5:45 PM, all done. This included the time spent to go get the fan motor. So we have a fan motor which cost NO MORE than $120, the $40 service call and two hours labor. If they double the price they pay for parts, and charge the typical $80 of so per hour my total charge would have been $440. Not the case. When the man said the motor had to be replaced I asked how much. His response: $693! I bought the ENTIRE outside unit for $675 a couple of years ago and had a customer of mine install the unit. All he did was bad-mouth whoever did the install. How bad the other guy was and how knowledgeable and experienced he was. I needed the unit fixed because it was Friday afternoon, I had no AC and company coming for the weekend. I definitely feel I was way overcharged. I received NO breakdown on parts/labor. AND to top it off, after I had written the check for $693 he told me to write another check because they still wanted the $40 service fee. So my total was $733! In closing, if they double the cost of parts, and pay the same as I would online which isn't likely the motor would be $240. The service fee would be the Angie's List special of $40. This would total $280 BEFORE labor. When you subtract the $280 from the total paid ($733) you're left with $453. That works out to $226.50 per hour. I feel like the man decided to overcharge me and just pulled number from thin air. I'll never use them again but please learn from my mistake. If they come to your home insist on an hourly fee and get parts quotes BEFORE any work is done. I CANNOT recommend this company! read more

We have had out heating and air conditioning maintained by Automatic for a number of years. This summer, we needed work done on our 12 year old a/c systems. I don't think the previous owner ever maintained them. Automatic Climate looked at the systems and gave me an estimate to keep things going and one for all new systems. I looked at the price at other HVAC contractors and it was similar. After some hesitation, I decided to replace the systems with new 14 SEER units. They came in, and in a day had replaced both units. The employees were polite and friendly, they were even nice to my dogs. I really hated to spend the money on new units, but I'm really glad I did. Not only did I not have any issues over the summer, the a/c seemed a lot more consistent. But the best thing of all is that our electric bills dropped by over a third. At first I thought it was a fluke, but every month the bill was that much lower. I'm really happy with them. read more

Called Automatic Climate Heating & Air Thursday morning for work. The AC at one of our stores went out after a power outage. Ashley told me someone would be out to take a look between 2:00-4:00. On the surface they seemed great initially. I had air conditioner issues. The technician each time seemed to blame either some other installer who had been there or the original construction of the house itself, but seemed to always have a 'fix'. During this time I ignored professional issues like the technician pulling out his phone in front of me looking at 'pings' from dating apps and then extensively talking about the layout of bedrooms in my house. Ultimately I stopped using the company when it became clear if I involved my male significant other I got a different recommendation for service at a significantly different cost. I asked them to never contact me again end ensured I officially cut ties with any automatic renewals. Since that time I continue to get emails and phone calls about 'prepaid' biannual service. The response I got was that nothing was actually prepaid and a laugh. I am sure there are some very good technicians there but my experience was not great and I wouldn't at least recommend this group to female customers. read more
