Hello reader. I am unsure what other people have experienced here, but I reached out after a recommendation from my long-time friend and was blown away by how I was taken care of. I had my poor car towed into his shop on a Wednesday evening, was given a detailed rundown of what was the issue(s) that should/could be addressed (taking my budget into account and communicating with me throughout) by Wednesday evening. And I went to pick up my car Thursday night. From the start of the encounter through picking it up, Automotive 2000 took great care of me. It genuinely felt like I was being taken care of by family. While I hope to not have to return under the same circumstances, I've been telling my friends and family that I do indeed Trust this place. I'm also going to translate this into spanish in case someone out there is looking for assistance but their english is not so bueno... This guy is an absolute crook, I have been going here for years. He told me I needed a new thermostat and charged me $400 and the next day it broke down. I took it to another mechanic who told me it was not even changed! He showed me the rusty thermostat that Auto 2000 supposedly changed. Now They won't won't give me my money back and told me to go head and sue him instead. Would NOT recommend working with this guy. Moved up from So Cal where I knew the mechanic, call him an old family friend. Not easy finding a place that you trust when it comes to your car, but Danny was a lucky find. Friendly and up front. Call him an old friend now and love the chats whenever we visit. Is the pricing fair? I would say so. In the beginning, I fully admit I would take my cars to Danny and then when I visited So Cal, would take it to the mechanic down there. It always checked out. I know, I know, not very trusting of me was it, but it paid off and now he is our go to guy. One little caveat, if your driving with performance mods, this may not be the right place for you. Seemed hesitant to do maintenance on a lowered WRX with mods. So . . . your call. Still, for the rest of us with daily cars, feel confident going here. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! I was looking for a place to do my smog check because the place I usually go to was close until August 1st and I had to get this done before then. Now let me tell you, the customer service was HORRIBLE. From the moment I walked in, i greeted the guy there (he was Asian) and he didn't even greet me back and was so rude about making me wait yelling "you have to wait for me!" with an stank attitude, even though there was no one else there. It was my first time there so I was just gonna ask if he had time to do a smog check. It definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I instantly just went back to my car and left. I was not gonna put up with that. I just wanted to share my experience so that anyone else that is thinking of coming here, can avoid going through this same experience and save a trip to a bad place like this. Hopefully they can improve their customer service in the future or not. But I will never be stepping foot in that place again. read more

I got robbed plain and simple. I went to this auto shop to get some repairs and they charged me over $1500 for a job that wasn't done. I had to go to another mechanic to see what the problem was and they told me parts are missing. They advised me to go back and have them finish the job they were supposed to do. When I went back, the guy, not sure his name, but he is of Asian decent, yelled at me telling me he finished the job and that was obviously a lie. Makes me sad to see how dishonest people are nowadays. I would never recommend this place or ever go back. read more

Recently I had to get that dang smog test that's required of us older vehicles. Everywhere you go, you can see signs that boast: SMOG - TEST ONLY CENTER. Well, I needed the whole sha-bang, not just the test. I had gone to this place last year and remembered it being insanely cheap, but I decided to shop around again just to be sure. Everywhere I called, a FULL SMOG was about $113 -$175 for my particular vehicle. I was like DAYUM! Well, I called this place and guess what the price was for my vehicle????.... (drum roll...) Worst auto shop available. Danny will lie and mislead you every step of the way. I took my 2001 Chevy suburban in because the battery keeps draining dead overnight. I told Danny(if that is his name) that there is a leak somewhere electrically and need it looked at. He told me he would need a couple of days. He calls me day two and mentions there was a usb charger plugged in and he thinks that is it. I told him no that we have had this issue for a few months now and the charger was not always plugged in. After arguing with me over it I knew this was a bad situation. He then tells me the battery is dead and I need to switch it out for a new one. I do so that j can get my car back. He charged me 95 to tell me a usb charger was plugged in and 30 to put the battery back in. The first time I let the car sit for a day the battery dies. I call Danny to explain what I said I the first place that he was wrong and should have actually done his job and I need a refund. He tells me if I take it into a dealership and they fix I can send him that paperwork and he may refund my money. This is truly a honest mechanic! I took my car to Dany because I thought I needed a new transmission. I was insisting that was the issue and I wanted a quote. Dany told me not to jump the gun and let him do the transmission flush first and then we can take action. I was really surprised that he was so concerned because he could have taken my money. Four hours later I picked up my car and it was running great! The jerking and the stalling in between gears had stopped. Danny also gave me a list of things that I needed fixed the next time I visit. On my way to work a couple of weeks ago my engine light went on. I was worried sick about it because my usual mechanic was not available to even talk to. My co-worker recommended Dany at Automotive 2000. She said that her brother goes there and is very happy with the service he receives. I called and was able to take my car in during my lunch hour and it was ready for pick up before I got off of work. He told me it may be the sensor since my car was 12 yrs old or it may be something more. Turned out to be the sensor. Hard to find honest mechanics. I also had another issue with my car that causing it to leak for the past 7 years. I was told that it was a real big job and it would be expensive and I would be without my car for at least 1 week. So I took it back to Dany and he was able to take care of it in 1 day and kept it overnight to make sure that there was no further leaks. The cost was not as much as I thought it would be. Only reason I give them 3 starts is because they got the job done nice and quick. Picked up my car the following day. The reason they are not getting 5 starts is because Danny is just money hungry. He's full of BS. Just because he's a mechanic and I'm a 17 year old boy he thought I didn't know anything about my own car. He told me if he looked at my car and what I told him was not the problem, he will charge me $100 just for looking at it. He said "oh to figure out if it's your timing belt I have to open the valve cover and see which takes me about 30 minutes". Lies, it took me, myself and I 10 seconds to figure out what was wrong. The guy is a wizard on funding a solution on your vehicle. I went in one time for my F-150. With in 29 min I knew what was wrong with my truck. Within a couple of hours it was fix. He is very inexpensive and honesty. I don't go anywhere else in Hayward. Parking is limited. read more

I have never actually had my car fixed here but I've brought it in twice for Danny to look at. The first instance, my car was making a really loud noise and alignment was off, he looked at it and pointed me next door to Calderon tires to give me a new tire. The second instance, my car was making a loud noise again but this time it sounded like metal. Danny drove my car around the lot to listen to the noise, pulled it up, looked at it, showed me what was wrong, called around for parts and gave me a quote to fix it. Although I didn't have him fix it (I haven't fixed it at all yet because I don't have the funds not because I don't trust him), he's been very professional both times and very helpful and honest with me. Danny is the most caring and trustworthy professional in his trade. I have a vintage 1993 LS 400 that loss power and idled rough. I took the car to the Toyota dealership and they proceeded to perform test after test and replaced various parts which DID not correct the problem. After holding my car for 2+ weeks and recommending a very expensive fuel injector replacement, I aborted the repair and had the car towed to Automotive 2000. At that point, I was vulnerable to having to dish out megabucks for repair. Danny pondered the fuel injector diagnosis and called me the next day to say that was NOT the issue. The issue was the electronic ignition. He quoted the job, which was a FRACTION of the fuel injector project. He was totally honest and helped me recover my car. When I brought it there, it was on the brink of being totaled--as the Toyota estimate for fuel injectors exceeded the value of the car. I would recommend Danny to anyone. He is someone you can TRUST to do the right thing and not take advantage of your situation. read more
