Their prices are incredibly fair and they're not going to talk you into stuff you don't need. I went to another place in town that told me I needed $1500 in maintenance and then when I asked again two months later, someone at the same shop told me I needed $400 in routine maintenance. I came here for an oil change and told them that if they noticed anything they thought needed a tune up - I was game as I was about to make a big cross country trip. They came back and said everything looked great. I ran through the list from the first quote I had and they eased my mind. They let me know that they thought all of that was unnecessary and didn't make sense given the past maintenance and state of the vehicle. It was so nice to feel like I was dealing with honest humans. My husband suggested that I check with Reno Vulcanizing to see if they could perform some of the services. I thought that was a great idea so I made an appointment for a brake fluid flush. I took it in this morning and saw Markus. He was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been nicer. He asked me how I knew I needed to have the brake fluid replaced. I told him that the other shop had recommended it. Before I left, he suggested we go check the fluid. He took a sample of it from the engine, said it was the right color, didn't look dirty and told me that based on the mileage since it was last changed, that it didn't need to be replaced today. I appreciate his honesty and his knowledge. He jokingly told me to save my money. Because of his honesty, integrity, knowledge, and excellent customer service skills, I'm certainly going to take all my cars to Reno Vulcanizing for all future services.

They take pictures and video to show you what things actually look like vs what they should look like. Also big shout out to Nile whose unusual rep for repairs, he's super communicative with where they're at. The shop also has a couple loaner vehicles which came in clutch when I had to get my timing chain fixed. I was able to still get to and from work. The staff here is super nice and I feel like they care for my car as if it's their own. On my last repair they asked if they could hold onto my car for another day cause they weren't satisfied with where they got it and wanted to double back and tweak a couple things to hopefully give my car back in as best condition as possible.(this wasn't any extra cost). I also love doing my oil changes here, they check a bunch of other areas of your car while they do the oil change and give you a rundown of recommended fixes. Also if not they have never pressured me on any fixes which eases my mind. Pressure sales in the auto industry feel fake and dishonest to me. Also, they give your car a quick wipe down of the consoles and vacuum as long as your car isn't full of stuff. It feels nice to get your car back a little cleaner than you gave it to them.

I debated turning back but I was loaded up with wedding supplies, which created serious timing and logistical concerns. With my check engine light flashing (indicating a critical condition) I prayed that it was either a fluke or something not too difficult to repair. As I hit the summit and the engine load eased the check engine light turned off and I breathed a sigh of relief. I still needed a plan though because these things don't solve themselves. After a quick search I found that Frank's was not far away. As I pulled in I was not optimistic about the level of service or concern that I might receive because of my unfamiliarity with the area. But my mind was quickly changed when the owner greeted me. Professionally dressed and attentive he listened to my predicament and offered to have a tech diagnose the problem. Since there was no active code (check engine light was still off), they used their scan tool to discover that one of my cylinders was misfiring. At this point I needed to decide whether to push on or find a U-Haul rental and transfer everything over. With their input I decided on the former. The owner did not charge but encouraged me to tip his tech (who was very considerate). I was way ahead of him and gladly gave the young man a twenty. In the end, I made it to my destination but not without a few concerning moments. At my Airbnb I was able to swap out my coils and plugs (with the help of my mechanic son who knew what I was up against and was able to pack some essential tools prior to his arrival from out of state) and the problem was solved. Thanks to Frank's for helping me know what I was up against and for their professionalism!
