The TLDR version, AutoNation CDJR in Columbus doubled their estimate only after they had managed to slap a $200 diagnostic charge, Took our Grand Caravan in for an estimate of a known problem, a failed sliding door actuator, a common enough problem that Chrysler was forced to extend the warranty over. Unfortunately for us, our milage put us past the extended warranty, so we knew we would have to pay. We asked for the estimate and was told $300 labor, plus parts. We went to the parts department and was told $255 for the part. We decided to make an appointment (mistake #1). We showed up at 7:45 AM and they took our van back while we waited. They then came back with an estimate for $1150, nearly $450 more than our regular mechanic estimated. The part had somehow increased in price to $368 dollars. Mind you, they did not find any greater problem than when we came in for the original estimate, the original estimate was knowingly inaccurate. They said I did not have to get the work done, but I now owed the $200 for diagnosing the problem, the exact problem I told them we had when we came in. Since we were in for $200 already and had already faced the aggravation of dealing with this issue, we OK'd the repair (mistake #2). Since the job is supposed to take an hour and ten minutes and they told us they had already started, we decided to wait (mistake #3). Despite getting there at 7:45 AM we were the very last people out of the garage that day at 6:45 PM. We were clearly customers that did not rate in their eyes. We'll be looking for a new car in about a year and a half. I recommend Mike Patton in Lagrange. We have always been treated well by them. read more

Prior to this past Saturday I was going back and forth with AutoNation VW out of Columbus, GA's internet Sales Manager Dan. Dan apparently passed me on to their salesman Rick and sales manager Marc. I was told that I was approved and for me to drive down from my house in Lawrenceville, GA to Columbus, GA. Absolutely worst customer experience I have ever experienced in my whole life! I was given the complete runaround and totally ignored what the Manager requested and didn't accept anything I provided which I never was told about any stipulations regarding the approved deal for the trade! In other words they're nothing but a low level piss poor lying lousy worthless dealership! I also had received a lame auto reply from their GM which is an utter disgrace and complete JOKE! read more

This place is really bad. If you can get a dealership outside of Columbus, Georgia, i recommend you do so. Getting service here or getting a recall performed is like pulling teeth. There is no communication and for parts. They want you to call the parts department to get the part you need for your vehicle. I wish columbus had another jeep dealership. I went to the SOUTH Location for a recall on my airbags for my 2011 jeep wrangler, they never called to say it was ready, I called they told me to pick it up. A few days later my airbags light comes on, called them back they had me drop off again. Picked it back up when they were finished the light still on, they tell me it's from putting things under the seat and it's a connector, never fixed it. I go to the Autonatuon NORTH and these are the nastiest people I have ever met the service rep tells me "i aint never saw this vehicle " if we touch it you gonna have to pay" i tried to explain the situation to him, he said that has nothing to do with them?? I asked if they were affiliated he said no. Asked for a manager, he said "I am the manager" yet his card says service advisor. Took our 2018 dodge grand caravan in for a diagnostic. We have a FIXD that said it was the coolant theromostat and dropped it off at 8 am on Saturday. I heard nothing till almost 2 pm that they wouldn't have a diagnosis until the following Monday. The service dept person was short and rude. Didn't even tell us when we dropped it off that there was only 1 tech working, which I can understand, but give me a heads up that my vehicle might not be gotten to. Then, when we tried to call on Monday, no one answered the phone, and we get a vague message about repairs with no itemization for $1500... when my husband called and couldn't understand what the girl on the phone was saying and asked to speak to someone else, he was told no. What the heck I bought from the volkswagen side and have never had this level of rudness or ignoring that I have at this dealership. Took my three year old, under 50K miles truck in for symptoms of a leaking head gasket. They kept it for a week with no calls and no one answering the phone, for me to drive up there and find out they "couldn't find anything to fix" since there was no check engine light. Never mind I had to refill the coolant inside of a week and complained of white smoke out the exhaust. A week later, check engine light comes on along with loss in power when driving. They then diagnose it as exactly what I thought it was, and begin the repair. They then claimed the warranty claim was denied, even though the reason was neither present in the warranty documentation, nor the owner's manual. No technical fault on my part! I was backed into a corner and had to pay for the repair, and there was zero empathy and barely any customer service from the service team. What kind of dealer and company shows zero concern for a top-end engine failure on a well taken care of truck with barely 50K miles on it?! Since the moment I got the truck back, I have made it a point to tell everyone I know and encounter to never do business with Autonation, and to never buy a Ram truck. Everyone knows brand loyalty, especially for infrequent large purchases like a motor vehicle, is far more valuable than the cost of taking care of a customer with a costly repair on a fairly new vehicle, where it's cloudy and difficult to prove where the fault originated. read more

My was brought there for a oil consumption recall which required a new engine to be put in. They kept my car from March until June. Finally a new engine and when it was cranked the belt was loose on it and all the check engine lights were still on. They reset them and tightened the belt. 3 weeks after having my car back it randomly stops cranking at all and the breaks and steering wheel are locked up. They paid for a tow and now I haven't received a call or email about my car or weather they have received it or not! I've called repeatedly and no one will answer the phone!!!! So at the moment I'm without a car and have no idea if my car is currently in their lot or not! read more

Agreed on a deal for new jeep. Deal included floor mats, delivery and an additional key. It took several phone calls and well past the 24-48 hours that the sales person promised to even get a schedule for delivery. Poor communication, and delivery would not have occurred if not for our constant daily calls. The sales person did not communicate anything to the rest of the dealership. The car was delivered without the floor mats that were promised. The additional key was never addressed. I left a google post and the response was to contact the general manager. I have tried for two days to no avail. The sales person hangs up on me when I call. The automated message does not provide customer service. No one knows how to contact the general manager. This has been the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this dealer read more

1 star because I need 1 to post. I took my 2016 Jeep here last week. My heat was only blowing cold air so I needed them to take a look. Well, after waiting 2 hours (yes I made an appointment) I was told that I needed a whole new heater core!! With labor they quoted me $2000!! Again, my vehicle is 4 years old. I bought it brand new, and there has NEVER been a coolant leak in my vehicle at all. I paid my $95 diagnostic fee and left. Obviously didn't make an appointment with them. I reached out to all my mechanic buddies and they all said either a clog or the actuators. Well the hoses to the heater core were hot when my vehicle reached operating temp, so probably not a clog. I took it in today to a local shop recommended to me by a buddy, and got my answer. He legit scanned my vehicle and 3 codes popped up. The actuators were not opening and closing properly, he rigged it for now, and BAM I have heat until my appointment. It has been getting unbearable in the morning especially with my 5 year old in tow. I am honestly horrified that autonation gave me the wrong information and had no issues with charging me $2000 for something that didn't need replacing. I paid $95 for the diagnostic, using a code reader should have been one of the first things they did. I am stationed at Benning for a few more years and I will never return, and I am sharing my experience with everyone. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! read more

Solely talking about the SERVICE DEPARTMENT. The service rep I dealt with was dishonest and fake. He never had the balls to tell me anything to my face and then wrote on the receipt that the reason my vehicle, WHICH IS UNDER WARRANTY, was making because of my driving. He rode with me and heard it. He knows I wasn't constantly AGGRESSIVELY accelerating, as he put it on the paperwork. He worded it in a way to make it seem like I'm the issue, not the Jeep. He told me that they will try to diagnose the issue. I don't doubt they did, but I told them it doesn't make the sound unless you've been driving it for at least an hour. The total labor was .2 hours. I highly doubt they even worked on it that long. I can't believe I paid $34,000 for a vehicle that's still under warranty and I have to deal with this crap. read more

I don't think Autonation is a woman friendly auto care center I had some issues a few months ago with my ABS System & TIPM if that was costly enough when I got my car back my air conditioning was not working (there was nothing wrong before they) i thought maybe it just needed antifreeze the dealership said there was no way a human forgot to put the antifreeze in the car, since they did check all my fluid levels there had to be a leak. I paid over $400 for a leak test that was atleast a month ago and nothing has leaked out so basically Autonation got free money for a air conditioner that was not leaking and works fine. If the issue I had before was not a problem only they could fix I would not go to them. Plus making a appointment do not mean anything they still take your car as a walk in they get to it when they can if they can. read more

Walked in to look at a used 2500. Everything started out nicely. Went and got the truck from one of the other dealerships. Drive it back and decided to buy the truck. Went through the paper work to finance. Told me I needed an addition $7000-$8000 down payment on top of my $5000. (Only a $40,000 truck). Spent 6 hours trying to negotiate a deal. After being told I needed a $12,500 down payment to make the deal work, i showed them multiple sites showing they had the truck over priced. The salesman misinformed me about the vehicle I purchased. He led me to believe it had features on it which once I purchased it, I realized it did not. A few days after the purchase I received an email asking me to come back in because they forgot to have me sign a form, then I received another email about another form that had the wrong first name on it. The salesman also offered to fill up my tank when I come in. They even asked my husband to come sign the paperwork, even though he had no part in the sale. Once, I came and signed one form, I asked about the other form but they said there was only form. I asked the salesman if he was still going to fill up the gas tank and he asked me if I could come back tomorrow. It has been a frustrating experience and one of the reasons I dislike the car buying process. read more

WORST SERVICE. Took my vehicle here for a mandatory safety recall on the airbag of my jeep. Everything was working properly before turning it in but when I got it back, the cruise control stop engaging/working. I have returned to dealership and had them check it again. According to the invoice report, they have "missed" to connect the cruise control plug behind the steering wheel. They have connected the plug and noted "cruise control now working". As I was going home, I have tried the cruise control and to my dismay, still not working. I ended up brining my vehicle back for the third time and then was told that I have to pay them to fix the problem. Decided not to take my vehicle here since trust is gone. They have already damaged my cruise control, failed to connect cruise control plug on my first visit, lied on the report that my cruise control is working even if it does not, and wanted to charge me for damage that they have inflicted. No offensive to your staff, because they were courteous, but it was a horrible experience. I am in the market for a very specific vehicle. One which was advertised on your lot but had no pictures on your site. I called and talk to someone about it. They sent me two pics and asked to do an application online. I've just got my credit back into the "good" range so I was weary of doing that. So I setup an appointment to test drive. I live in North Atlanta and had to drive two hours to get there. When I get there everyone was nice like I said. But the salesman I was handed off on had no knowledge on the truck or automotive industry in general seemed like. He couldn't find the vehicle and once we did he couldn't find the keys. I'm a patient person and although it was pretty hot I calmly waited and walked around the truck. I noticed some wrinkles at the bottom of the cab and suspected rust. But when the salesmen came back with the keys I was not prepared for the severity of it. The entire truck was rusted out on both sides til the point where I easily pushed on it and it literally cartoonishly crumbled away. I cut my hand on the hole that my hand went through. I stood in amazement that this would be on the lot. I've been on buy here pay here lots with better quality than this. But like I said, I'm looking for a very specific vehicle, so I was still interested. But I refused to pay the listed price for a rusted truck. Without flinching the manager tells me "We have a one price policy... I could either sale it to you at this price or sale it wholesale." I shook his hand and the salesmans and walked out. I'm not one to really complain. I'm too lazy to write reviews on yelp and all that. I take my lumps and move on. Only reason I'm telling you all this is because you asked. My grandson brought his 2015 Dodge Dart in because it was running sluggish, would not respond when pressing the accelerator. It also had a smell like it was getting to much fuel. It would run fine and then at another time it would not. The dodge dealer ship replace the Throttle body and intake service kit, used an Ethanol Corrosion Inhibitor and corrosion kit, and did a basic tune up replacing all 4 spark plugs. Charged me $790. Two days later the car started doing the same thing. Took it back and was told they do not know what is wrong with the vehicle that they are getting a code that the ABS module and PCN were not connecting to each other. They tell me that it could be one or both and that by the dealer inspection tree they had to try the ABS module first $500+ before trying the PCN which would cost $0 from the manufactory. I told them if the ABS module was not the problem I was not paying for it and was told then, that they could not fix the car because if they installed it I would have to pay for it. This is dealership doing experimental work at the customer expense. read more

I typically do not write reviews as I feel people should be able to perform there jobs at a professional level on a consistent basis, however this is going on every review page and survey I can find. I took my 200 in for warranty work and when I went to pick it up I noticed a large scratch in the leather on the bottom of the steering wheel. I approached the service manager and he said he had to launch an "investigation" into what happen which is a political way of saying we are going to slow play this until it goes away. It has been three days and still no call on how to rectify this mistake that was clearly made at there hands. This is the worst treatment that I received from a car dealership and the more a they took advantage of me as a veteran a war veteran at that. When I went to do the paper work they had me to sign as a co-signer for someone to get a vehicle. They allowed me to drive off a lot with no insurance approved even though they said we did. Then to make matters worst they try and still me with a high percentage rate at 18.21 percent. Then to make matters worst they falsified my email address on there and put the vehicle and in someone else name. The salesman did not even know how to fill out the documents. The bulb in the vehicle needed replacing and even though the documents stated we covered they would not replace it. Then they were trying to coerce me over the phone for the deal of the vehicle and I reported to headquarters what they did. The sent me to a subprime lender without my consent such as Global Lending Services. They took advantage of me and did not give me veteran discount and what I was supposed to get being a 100% disabled veteran. In turn they took 1000.00 dollars plus 200.00. I really hope they repent and give their lives over to Jesus. Because people do reap what they sow. They would not answer the phone and all they wanted was a veteran they could take advantage of us. They did and now I am stuck with this vehicle and have to get it refinanced and sell it and get rid of it. I will not be going to another car dealership of people I do not know. Very poor customer service right from the beginning. Jonathon told us the vehicle we reserved online could not be found then the next day miraculously "found" it when we asked to speak to the manager. When we were five minutes away, after driving four hours, he told us on the phone that they were closing up. So we started the paperwork over the phone and they did complete the sale when we arrived. The truck was supposed to have been "detailed" but was very dirty inside. Although it was "certified" the power mirrors did not work nor one power window. The day after we purchased it the battery totally died and stranded us. These things were not as big of a problem as the way Jonathon dealt with us. He would not return our calls and when he did finally reply he was very rude and unprofessional. Fortunately we did have a very good experience with Paul, the finance guy.
