DO NOT buy or lease a car at AutoNation Hyundai. I leased a brand new 2025 Hyundai Sonata N Line less than 2 months ago. The car already has mechanical AND electrical issues. In addition, when I called to ask questions about my tag, I was told that both the guy who sold me the car AND the sales manager that I first dealt with were no longer with the company. Very sus. I was told to reach out to Berlinda, who handles the title department. I called and was transferred to her voice mail. My question was very simple. And yet, she didn't bother ever calling me back. Also, they never submitted my paperwork to BlueLink or MyHyundai. And customer car care for MyHyundai took 23 days to respond to my email asking why my car wasn't registered to my MyHyundai account/app. And when they did, they wanted my DL, insurance card, and proof of sale, which all should have been provided to them by AutoNation at time of lease. Took my daughter's Santa Fe Sport in for service because the ABS warning light was on. They told me I needed a rear wheel hub, which cost me about $900. This included $65 misc. charges, which the service advisor told me was for "shop rags". Really? The car only has 60K miles on it and has been extremely well maintained! They also told me I needed new brake pads all the way around, and quoted me over $300 per axle. I decided to take the car somewhere else for a second opinion. Upon doing that, I was told brake pads were not needed!! This makes me wonder if the rear hub was needed either?? A couple days after the fact, a customer service person called me to take a survey. I told her I felt like I had been robbed. She offered me nothing in return except to say sorry. I will never take my car there again. read more

Do NOT trust anything these people tell you--especially James Rogers (JR)!!! JR is part of Hyundai's finance team, and he will lie straight to your face just to get you out the door. Hyundai's website and phone system make it nearly impossible to connect with anyone who can help. My husband, David Nixon has an excellent credit score of 831 and put $15,000 down on his purchase. Despite that, Hyundai Finance and JR made him jump through hoops to complete the deal. Funding wasn't approved until 9/9/24, but by 9/11, the finance company was already calling, saying he was late on payments! We went back to the dealership and asked JR what was going on and what to do. He told us to ignore the calls, claiming the first payment wasn't due until 10/11/24, even giving us a printout as proof. But after multiple harassing calls from Hyundai Finance, my husband finally spoke with someone competent. That person told him to have JR rebook the deal to fix the issue. So, off we went to the dealership again because you can't get anyone on the phone--more time and gas wasted!!! JR promised to take care of the rebooking, but it was just more LIES. Not surprisingly, Hyundai Finance kept calling. When my husband returned to the dealership, the only finance guy there was extremely rude and laughed in his face when he mentioned the rebooking. He mocked him and was extremely belittling towards him, this was way past humiliating and uncalled for to say the least. God doesn't like ugly--and both of you were beyond ugly!!! After reading my review, IF the dealership REALLY reads the reviews!!! Please, don't waste anymore of my time & respond with your generic response, "Please call our General Manager at (706) 522-2083 so we can work toward resolving these issues. We look forward to hearing from you soon." That's just another empty promise and a complete waste of time! We were completely misled and deceived by salesperson, Anthony Jones. Mr. Jones made 3 phone calls to my husband in a one week period inquiring about purchasing the luxury SUV that we had listed for sale by owner online. He indicated that he had a buyer for our vehicle and acknowledged that he was aware of our asking price. During the 3rd phone conversation this afternoon, he told us he felt he could get close to the price we were asking and strongly encouraged us to make the trip to meet with him today. He then told us to bring the title to our SUV and for us to drive separately to the meeting so that when the transaction for the purchase of our SUV was complete, we would have transportation to get back home! After the initial introductions were made, Mr. Jones did some preliminary viewing of the SUV and took some pictures. Upon returning to his desk, he entered information in his computer that he deemed was necessary in order to document that we showed up for the 5:00 p.m. appointment. He then made comments that he would be back shortly and left the area. When he returned, he presented us with a photocopy of a company check filled out with the amount he was willing to pay to purchase our SUV. We were stunned and insulted by the amount of the check which was thousands below the amount he proposed to my husband on the phone this afternoon. When we questioned him, no explanation or apology was offered. His actions from the phone calls forward were unethical, unprofessional and intentionally deceitful. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They said a repair would take 15 minutes...the car sat outside the bay for 30 minutes without being touched. They installed the part and it sat for another 30 minutes. They knew my wife had an appointment to get to. When I asked for my car back they lied and said it was not done...though they texted a picture of the competed repair. They did give me my car back after they ripped off the new charging door that was covered under warranty. Making matters worse when I brought it there originally they kept the broken charging door claiming it was needed for color matching...I'll admit I went off on them when they ripped the cover off the car...the technician was smug and enjoyed every moment and the general manager was taking up for his employees that are CLEARLY failing. Hyundai makes a great car and I have owned 13 in my life...I will never EVER buy Hyundai again as buying one means it has to be serviced there....customer service does not exist and if Hyundai America was smart they would pull the franchise from them. Their finance guy Seth and finance manager Chris are as slimy as they come. *Also read EVERYTHING before you sign it, even though they will give you the run down and expect you to blindly take them at their word. This could save you a few thousand on additional "coverage" that they offer* Go to a different dealership if you want to get a car. They also offer no discounts or incentives, will keep you in their office for a long time trying to wear you down so when the papers come you're just ready to sign without reading, and even though potentially mess up the paperwork. Was told could come pick up a new car , for a girlfriend, who is a disabled Army veteran. Was informed at 2 pm the car would be ready when we arrived, with a "full tank of gas". For the service department: Front desk staff was friendly and courteous. Drop-off was easy and efficient. For the repairs, I'm wondering if the store's general manager knows that the service department is performing tire repairs that are non-compliant with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. There was a nail in my tire. By NHTSA standards, a proper repair includes a plug and a patch, but the service department only plugged the tire. They then charged $35 for the sub-standard band-aid. A plug kit from Wal-mart is $9.99 and provides materials for 5 hole repairs. A safety seal kit that includes a seal with a plug attached can be purchased for $16 to $20 and includes enough materials to plug 24 holes. The service department is also attempting to charge $100 for an SD Card for map updates that can be purchased on the Hyundai website for $25 plus shipping. The SD card comes pre-loaded with the necessary files to update the vehicles navigation system. When my wife went to pick up the car (I am at work) the staff teamed up on her and bullied her into paying for the sub-standard "repairs", refusing to even discuss the lack of merit their lack luster policy held. Save your headaches, safety, and money. If you need a repair, go somewhere else! read more

I've always thought that the sales team makes a customer and the service department keeps a customer. The service department at AutoNation Hyundai has made me wish I had never purchased my Tucson and never want to purchase a Hyundai ever again. At various times I have received post cards through the mail indicating that it was time for service (based on mileage). When I call to make an appointment I'm told it's not time for service at the mileage my car is at. I've made 3-4 appointments based on different communications from Hyundai (postcards from Hyundai, on-board systems, and calling at different times to inquire) only to be told that it's not time for service once I get to the dealership, today being the most recent. When I asked who I could speak with to get these communications to all reflect the same information, no solution was offered. They only TOLD me at what mileage to come in. I'm a working wife and mother and have far to much on my plate to remember when to come in, especially when there are supposed to be systems in place to initiate a request for a service appointment. I really feel that no one in the service department knows what they are doing and do not value the customers that warrant them being there for their paychecks. read more

The dealer gave us a 1 year warranty to resolve the previous complaint, however, we went to use the warranty today and were told that they never even submitted the warranty paperwork, and we had no warranty. The repair is $600-$1,200. Previous complaint: We purchased a 2010 GMC Terrain on June 19, 2017. On July 31, 2017 the vehicle began to make a fluttering noise, then the check engine light came on. That evening the vehicle completely locked up and shut off while we were driving home. It turned back on, but did not sound right. We returned the vehicle the following day to Autonation Hyndai, and they refused to look at it unless we paid a fee, as it was beyond the warranty period. We refused to pay, and they agreed to look at it. After they looked at it, the sales manager informed me that the vehicle needed a new engine, or needed the engine re-built, but it was not covered under warranty. I questioned the fact that they said we drove over 7,000 miles in 30 days, and after careful review, they realized that the finance manager wrote the wrong mileage on the original contract. They immediately asked us to return and sign a new contract. It was implied that if my wife signed the new contract (I was out of town), the vehicle would be under warranty and repaired. It was not brought to my wife's attention that she had the option to return the vehicle, as the contract was null and void. However, she was assured the vehicle would be fixed under warranty, and given a loaner. We were told that they needed to wait a short time to fix the vehicle, as the warranty company would suspect fraud if they immediately filed a claim. 36 days went by with no updates. Every time I called, they said it would be ready soon. On September 6, 2017 I was called and told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, and it was ready to be picked up. They claimed to have taken it to Rivertown GMC to have it looked at, and they found no issues. I called RIvertown GMC and spoke with the adviser who worked with my vehicle. The adviser stated that they cleared the check engine codes before they took it over to them, and they were not able to diagnose it, beyond driving it and looking at it. Upon reviewing the paperwork, I noticed that it only states that the check engine light was on, and not that the engine actually locked up and shut off. I have the message from July 31, 2017 at 10:05 PM when I explained that the engine shut off as we were driving home. We were also never informed that they were taking it to another dealership for a second opinion. We wondered why it was taking over a month to repair. The last message I received on September 2, 2017 read, "I should have an update today on a def time frame of the engine", which lead me to believe it was being repaired and or replaced. Then 4 days later I am told that there is nothing wrong with it, and I need to pick it up. As you can imagine, I was livid. We are new to the city and do not have funds to cover if and when it decides to go shut down again, especially while driving. Engines do not just go bad, and then magically repair themselves. I did express my frustration as any human would after being dragged through this, when you thought you bought a good car. The service manager hung up on me, and I understand, as I was very upset. Then I was accused of just trying to get a free engine. The only reason I thought it needed an engine is because Hyndaui mechanics looked at it, and I was told by the sales manager that it needed a new engine, or the engine needed to be rebuilt. I know nothing about automobiles, so I would not even know if and when it needed a new engine. I just know that vehicles don't just die while driving after the check engine light comes on. read more

I will never buy a car here again! I have purchased two brand new vehicles from this location Palisade and limited Sonata . The sales department was very eager to make the sale and I worked well with them! However, when I purchase a new vehicle, I expect that all features are working and everything they said to be true. Wrong! My new 2021 Sonata wireless charging pad wasn't working. First, the service manager told me that nothing was wrong with the car; however, he had the wrong car. Then, he told me the charging ports worked. I explained to him again that it was the wireless charging pad that was working improperly. It only worked in the mornings. Then the Service advisor told me I would have to pay $1,045 to repair the wireless charger on a car that was less than a month old!. He accused me of damaging the wireless charger by spilling something on it, and it was my responsibility to pay for it. A spill had not occurred. I again explained it works in the morning only. He told me, "This is why you shouldn't buy the first model of a new car because they always have problems." He said to clean it and that maybe it would work again. The car has been up there several times. The final straw was when the service manager told me he does no recollection of talking with me (I spoke with him more than three times) and that he had about my situation, I was done! Don't trust them! Long story short its three months later; my wireless charger is still broken on my brand new 2021 Sonata. I wish I would have seen these reviews before! I reach out to the salesman and he tells me it is. I ask for a copy of the paperwork and have yet to receive it. Won't return my calls, text messages nor emails. Reached out to sales manager. My car had a known recall related to the engine. I took the car to the AutoNation Hyundai service department three times due to very obvious issues related to the engine. Each time, they completed and charged me for unnecessary services that were unrelated to this known issue, and each time they assured me that it was safe to drive -even as the exact same problems persisted. They told me they expected the engine to seize up, but assured me that when it did, they would replace it at no cost. There were no conditions added, just a simple assurance that they'd take care of it. I felt pretty good about that, to be honest. As a long time Hyundai customer, I expected that kind of customer care. Regardless, I continued to experience significant issues with the vehicle. A few months after the first time I'd towed it to them, the engine seized. I took it to them for the fourth time, only to find out that they would not replace the engine as they'd assured me they would. The vehicle had been unsafe to drive, and they'd hadn't been entirely transparent with me about the repairs. Unfortunately, I put my family in danger and wasted my time based on their assurances. I go in to check on the vehicle they want me to pay for the tow bill and say that the issue was other things not just the issue they worked on... DO NOT even get me started on the manager...worthless! Completely WORTHLESS! Terrible customer service! The money wasn't the issue, it was the principle. They have LOST a loyal customer! And TO THINK I was about to buy a vehicle from them...I will take my money somewhere it's not sucked out of me! UPDATE: I general manager David contacted me through email and MORE than made the situation right. He was respectful and willing to go more than the extra mile. **STAY FAR, FAR, FAR AWAY.** Never in my life have I encountered such poor customer service or questionable business practices. Our issues with this dealership began in the fall, when my husband and I were looking to begin a new lease (or purchase) of a Hyundai, as my Sonata's lease was coming to an end. We visited the dealership 3+ times and test drove several vehicles and worked with four employees, two of which were managers. We were assured that our test drives and "willingness to stay in the Hyundai family, even if we didn't end up renewing a lease" would mean reimbursement of a $400 disposition fee, charged upon the end of a lease. After choosing the exact make and model that we wanted, we were interested in numbers regarding lease vs. purchase. Unfortunately, though, after countless phone calls, we received absolutely NO call backs, despite our best efforts. We ended up going to CarMax (and had an EXCELLENT experience, thank goodness) to purchase our next vehicle. The trouble REALLY started, though, upon turn-in. Because the dealership told us we needed to replace our tires, we did so and provided a receipt to the manager the day we turned in the vehicle. He assured us that we had no remaining dues to Hyundai and that we were free to go. Fast forward 6 weeks later, and I receive a collections call from Hyundai, asking for nearly $700-- a combination of the disposition fee (which I was told would be reimbursed by the dealership) and a fee for the new tires they "had to put on the vehicle." In a panic, I went to the dealership and spoke with Sean, the manager who took my receipt originally, and he assured me that he remembered me, that remembered taking my receipt, and that he had "never heard of" a disposition fee at the end of a lease. He assured me that he would make sure it was taken care of that day. I called him every few days for SIX WEEKS, only to be told each time that he would "call me tomorrow." After finally reaching out to the general manager, Dave, it was decided that the dealership had lost my receipt, but that I would be responsible for obtaining a new one and handling it with Hyundai. He also added that he could "not be responsible" for what his employees had promised, re: disposition fee. After expressing my extreme disappointment and urging him to do the right thing and help me resolve the situation, he still did not budge. Only after I stated that I'd be sharing my poor experience with family and friends did he beg me to not "stoop to slandering their good name" (he *clearly* does not have a law degree, given his understanding of the term) and promise that he'd try to make it right. 30+ days later, I finally heard from him, and he "can't do anything." I went in last week to get my drivers belt fixed come to find out they told me that I needed a pulley and tensioner fixed for $600+ including getting my belt fixed. I only got my belt fixed because that's all that I can afford,they told me I needed to still get the other two fixed or it will snap again. A week later I called to make an appointment to get the pulley and tensioner done they quoted me the price for $700+ mind you now they priced me $600+ when I needed my belt,pulley and tensioner fixed so it should be priced at least $400 since I paid almost $200 to get my belt fixed. They made up a price on the top of their head so I called Firestone on 1221 Veterans Pkwy they was a lot cheaper. I went to them instead come to find out I didn't need anything done my pulley and tensioner was in great shape. We have a 2009 Hyundai Gensis that had recalls on it. They took care of them no charge. They changed all the fluids in the car and aired the tires. They said the car would be done within a day but infact took 3 days. They apologized and discounted for our troubles. A week later I called them because the trunk wouldn't open and the car lighter wouldn't work. Come to find out, the ignition piece is messed up. So they are ordering that part. Told us we needed new car fobs. Which we ordered. Then our car wouldn't start. Found it was the battery. Everything that happened, they explained why it happened. What they are doing to fix it. Everything has a life time warranty. My service guy did everything he could to help me save a buck. They were patient. Explained what steps were being taken. I didn't feel like I was being talked down or taken advantage. Which how I feel at most dealerships. They did their best to accommodate us. Receipts are always given. They were professional and sweet. They work really hard to please their customers. I'm very pleased and will continue to bring my vehicle. Thank you!! read more

Had a great experience buying from Autonation Hyundai in Columbus! I started my search near home at the Hyundai in Auburn AL and they were awful. Unwilling to discuss a deal and pretty rude about everything. Autonation was the complete opposite. Set up an appointment with Dean, and from the minute we walked in it was a laid back and comfortable experience. No pressure, no haggling, nobody being sketchy. He was friendly and helpful, and far from pushy. Shannon was great, too! He worked so hard to get us a deal that worked and if it weren't for his efforts I doubt we would have made it out with the vehicle we wanted and such a great deal. Worst location I've ever gotten my vehicle serviced and mind you I'm in the army and have been stationed all over and have never had issues!!! Each time I have taken my vehicle to the location I have to take it back for the same issue or because whatever was "fixed" cause another issue. If I could list the different experiences in detail without my blood pressure rising all over again I would! With that being said I'll write about my last experience. And when u day last, I mean LAST!!! They will no longer have a customer in me! I go to the location on the 11th of Jul to ensure that they have the type of tires i needed/WANTED for my vehicle. It was stated that they did. Cool, I make an appointment for the next day. In that appointment I was getting the tires put on (all 4), windshield wipers replaced, induction service, and an alignment and also a recalled that showed in the system. 4hrs later services are done. I go outside look at the tires and they are not the BRAND that I had asked for, on top of the mess from the tires not being cleaned off the rims !!!! So I'm a little pissed, but think to myself, let it go they are all new tires. Did some research and it turns out that they are actually cheaper in price than the ones that I asked for, so I would have never agreed to have them put on based on the quote I was given. Let's talk about the induction service. I had previously taken my vehicle in because a part for my sunroof was being replaced, I had to take the vehicle back in twice after that because the part kept coming out of place (inconvenience is an understatement since it's a reoccurrence with the service department). Anyway, when I took it in for that I told them that my vehicle was making a noise every time I pressed on the gas. They said that the throttle body was dirty causing the noise and that an induction service would make the noise go away. At that point I didn't have time to wait another hour for my vehicle so I said I would be it back once I got back in town from training. Fast forward to today, got it done along with the other things I listed above and guess what, THE NOISE IS STILL THERE! Now I'm really annoyed and have ZERO confidence in the abilities of the service department. If it wasn't the throttle body needing cleaning then what is causing the noise! It should be able to be identified being that they service Hyundai's and it is a Hyundai being Service! Make the drive to Newnan, Atlanta or Auburn. On August 28th I purchased a 2007 Honda CRV . Although the buying process was relatively smooth and Jenna Warrick was Helpful this was not a positive experience. During the test drive everything worked the car seemed to be solid and I purchased the car. PRECISELY,3.8 miles from the dealer the air conditioning quit.I understand an as-is policy but also presumed if a car has a documented 125 point inspection and the air blew cold on the test drive it would be ok at least for a while anyway. After returning to the dealer the next day, I spoke to Nate, the Used Car Sales manager and explained the situation. He was helpful and agreed to have service diagnose the problem and split the difference "down the middle".I Agreed and was happy and took the car to service. 4 Hours later I approached the Service Advisor for and an Update and was told with an attitude "people were ahead of you because they made an appointment" then proceeded to answer all of my questions with a 1 word answers. When we are finished the Manager will review the quote I was told. Upon returning I was told by the condescending bearded Service Advisor the price will be $1300.00 and " I should take it somewhere else because if he agreed,(Used Car Manager) which he wont, it would still be close to the amount you were Quoted"(previous quote, Kauffman Tire). Yesterday at 6:10 PM (closes at 8:00 PM). I stopped at this dealerships service department as my 2012 Hyundai Elantra's audio for navigation, XM, AM, FM and Bluetooth had lost audio. I asked the man at the service desk if this was a fuse issue. He said most likely not, that it was probably a battery issue. Really?!? He did not have any technicians to check either out and I would have to bring it back the next day so they could do a diagnostic test. I had a 3 hour drive home so made the drive. When I got home I googled the issue. It WAS a fuse and the blog told you EXACTLY how to fix the problem. Take fuse out, wait 1 minute, put back in. Voila'! AUDIO! 5 minutes! You would think good customer service at a so-called SERVICE center would have at least done a battery check and maybe, just maybe check a little ole fuse. That little bit of effort would go a long way for my return buisness for an actual issue. Google people, just google! read more

I dealt with Catherine as my service advisor she is really friendly and very respectful. I have dealt with this dealership for over five years now when we bought our first Sonata and it was the very first time any one mentioned a military discount to me. The appointment was made on line and I arrived early and the everything was fine with check in and repairs of the vehicle. The issue came when I went to pick up the vehicle and pay. The wait time was more than five minutes because there was only one advisor there to take care of customers,it was 12:50 PM. I was told they were in a meeting and he was not very helpful. Talked very badly of the company and how much he hated working there and so on. I do not feel customers should hear about a company problems. The wait time for dropping off and picking up should be stream lined and should not matter who the advisor is and they all should work as a team instead of looking on the computer and saying oh that's so and so and jut sit there and wait for the advisor to complete the previous customer. There are three advisors there and a manager why do all have to go to lunch at the same time and leave one person working the desk. Do you not understand that sometimes lunch hour is the only time people may be able to go and take cae of the service needs of their vehicle. read more
