    Evidence of text exchange

I thought car dealers being shady was old news, but today (August 2nd 2025) I learned that integrity is a foreign word to Autonation Ford of Mobile, Alabama. I took in my Ford F-150 (2016 XLT, less than 100k miles) with a view to downsizing and had my eyes (and a test drive) on a 2021 Kia Forte. Priced at $11,599 with 75k miles on the clock. With the trade in on the F-150 I was going to spend around $1,500 to drive home in the Kia. I deliberately don't take my title papers when car shopping so I get at least a day for "buyer's remorse" but this was a good deal and I signed the sales worksheet to accept the deal. Shook hands with the salesman, and the sales manager who said he appreciated my business (in what would have been my second purchase from the dealership in less than 3 years). As the dealership is closed on Sunday (the day after) and I had to be somewhere else, we agreed that I could come back on Monday to complete the paperwork and take delivery of my vehicle. An hour or two after leaving, I received a text from the salesman saying that someone else was test driving the car and they was a high likelihood that they would sell it to them. I replied that I was not going to deal with a company that would renege on a verbal contract. Later, I received another text message that the salesman had confused my intended vehicle with another that a potential customer had driven and asked me what time I could be expected on Monday to close the deal..! Needless to say I will not be doing business with a dealership that acts in this way. I don't have a burning need to sell/buy, but when I do it will 100% NOT be with Autonation Ford. Purchasing a car is a big deal, and today's events have once again proven that car sales is a viper's den of lack of integrity. Stay clear of these people, and make sure you get everything in writing. Take photos of everything that you sign. Document verbal contracts. Autonation Ford - shame on you. Prior to posting this I had forgotten (blanked) how bad they were with my Mustang purchase follow up. Double 1 star reviews - folks, just stay away from this dealership.

I attempted to purchase a car at AutoNation Ford Mobile but over the course of two days I made 8 phone calls, left 3 voicemail messages and sent 3 emails. No response and then I called corporate to see if I could reach someone and they said they would have someone call me back within 5 days. Finally I decided to schedule a meeting via the AutoNation scheduling system and a few hours before my appointment they raised the price on the vehicle by $1500 (see image below). And this was a vehicle they told me they needed to move because it had been in their inventory a long time. Just the kind of shady sales tactics AutoNation dealers claim not to play. Regardless of my poor experience, I wish my sales rep Stanley A. the best of luck!

I guess if I would have read the reviews I wouldn't have come here. But I dealt with them in 2018 while working here from out of town. They fixed my truck and I was good then. Went in Saturday and left with a new 2023 F250 Lariat. Reasonable trade on my 2008F250 and reasonable price on the new purchase. Mostafa was my sales rep and he did a wonderful job. He was able to answer all the questions I had on the new technology (not a fan of). I love my new truck

This place is horrible, especially with communication and keeping you informed about your vehicle. I received 1 automated text stating they received my car. Aug 8/9 I waited a few day then I called the service department looking for my advisor "Robert", I could not get a person at the site on the phone, (twice the customer service kept taking my number and name saying they would relay the message), this was during operation hours..I waited days,( this is now day 9) no-one reached out to me so I called again, I finally got a person that worked at the actual site and was asked who my advisor was.....and was told "we do not have a Robert that works here, well at least not in service" so I texted the number that I received the message on and called again. Another person answered the phone, I asked for Robert. He said "ok let me get him for you," I said I just called, someone said a Robert does not work there, he stated "oh, because no one calls him/knows him by Robert, we all call him Tyler." Finally was told they do not have an on site mechanic to fix an engine problem. I only had the car a few months before had to fix/so called replace my engine, now not even a year later I'm back in for my engine. This time it's leaking oil out of the tailpipe, hesitating to drive and smoking, they kept my car for 2 weeks and 6 days. ......I had to rent a car for those days, he said they had to figure out what was wrong with my car first to see if the damage was covered under warranty , (which it was) I finally got my car on Aug 25, He said he can't explain what happened but the engine just came a loose ..... when I got my receipt, they changed my email address to some weird address, I guess so they can have an excuse as to why they did not reach out to me, but I had previous notifications.I asked about reimbursement for the Rental and was told I had to call/reach out to the 1 800 Ford number/email....I did that, still no response! After all this.....I called yesterday Sept. 3 to tell Jerry the manager that my car started to hesitate again and won't go past 75/80 and the check engine light came on and he had the nerve to tell me that I've been racing my car because I have to keep getting my engine fixed/replaced. And most of the speed limits around Mobile is 65 mph! (I was on the interstate but don't see why that was anything to say to a customer) but a so called new engine should be able to withstand that pressure....right???)! This was a horrible experience and my car is still not fixed!!!!! (Some Proof in photos) . Took my car back Sept 5.....Today is Sept 17.....still no different solution...still no car

**Service Department Review**…read more Imagine moving to a new city and three weeks after the move, hubby's car decides to overheat at red lights and loses its entire mind! Well, that's what happened and of course, being new to town-- we had no clue where to turn and needed immediate help. (Preferably, without being raked across the coals!) Not one, but TWO recommendations from the hubby's office sent us (literally) running into Andrew's arms, and bracing ourselves for a decent report. Just as described, Andrew's took great care of us. Reggie helped us originally and offered great customer care. Andrew's replaced the necessary sensor and a coil of some sort (don't make me talk car parts, I'm not classically trained), graciously offered us a loaner (we couldn't accept and used my car), washed hubs' car, AND quoted us a truly reasonable price (and by reasonable, I mean I didn't get the urge to cry)-- just went above and beyond! Fast forward-- We've now returned 2 times for regular maintenance and checks since our arrival, we've recommended Andrew's to a friend, and the level of service continues to exceed expectations. My last visit to the lot had me strongly considering buying one of their gorgeous cars that I can't afford, but the hubs pulled me away before any real damage was done! Andrew is the best, truly helped us, and now we're in it for the long haul! Also, doesn't hurt that he's a South Alabama supporter. All in all, our money and our vehicles are safe at Andrew's Imports! Now, about that car...

I was heartbroken when my 2015 Toyota Camry was totaled, but I had already been thinking of buying…read morea new car anyway, so I quickly started looking at cars online. Feeling overwhelmed and somewhat lost with all of the different choices and dealers, I turned to my boss of 20 years - one of the most honest and fair people I've ever met - for advice. He IMMEDIATELY told me to go to Andrew's Imports. Not knowing anything about dealerships, I followed his advice, and started looking on their website. I instantly fell in love with a gray Lexus IS 250. I was a little dismayed at first, because I know Lexus is a high-end brand, and I didn't really want to go broke on a vehicle. But then I saw the price listed online, and was astounded that the car was in my price range. After a phone call with Andrew, I felt totally comfortable, as he was friendly (but not overly so - in that fake way that some sales people can be, and I don't say that lightly, because I'm in sales, too!), was super knowledgeable about the car, and he set me up for a test drive that Saturday. Driving the car just made me love it even more. At the dealership, Reggie was amazing! He was super sweet and funny, just felt like he and I had been friends forever, and made me feel even more comfortable. He was able to get all the paperwork and everything arranged really quickly, and always responded to my bazillion texts in a timely manner. The day I went to sign everything, I sat down with Lisa. She was amazing, too! Lisa explained all of the documents before I signed them, and answered every question I had. She was the BEST! I actually enjoyed sitting in her office talking to her. I am not even slightly kidding when I say I would be personal friends with everyone at Andrew's Imports. One thing that may be silly, but definitely gave me the warm fuzzies, was the day I was signing the papers, the office workers had found a stray kitten, and it was wandering the office playing with everyone as they tried to find a home for it. That tells you SO MUCH about what kind of people they are. So now, I'm driving a car I love, that I didn't pay out the nose for, with fond memories of everyone at Andrew's. I will definitely be back when it's time to buy another car, which will probably be soon, as I have three teenagers! I can't state enough how positive this experience was. I was tentative about dealing with car lots, because so many times, you have that sinking feeling that they are scamming you in some way, or trying to screw you over. I never once had that feeling here, and in fact, felt the total opposite way. This place really cares about its customers and their satisfaction and it definitely shows!

He obviously looked into my profile, but didn't look at all the reviews I have given. He told me I should consider giving better reviews for businesses I have interacted with. Well, Mike, I looked at the low reviews you have received, and there is clearly a trend in "had an appointment, was still there for X hours with no communication". After each one, the service manager or Mike responded with "thanks for the feedback, we'll make sure to do better in the future." Clearly, you haven't learned. And to switch the incident around to "Ian leaves bad reviews" is so passive-aggressive I'm not surprised that your employees have no notion of customer satisfaction. He said they had been having technical issues with the video of the inspection, and he didn't know why I wasn't given the evidence of the findings. Maybe it was because they were going to charge me $28 for a cabin filter replacement, even though it had clearly not been inspected - the contents of my glove box were exactly as I left them, and the catch to open the filter compartment is impossible to open. Note that at no point did I ask for a refund - I had written off the ~$150 as a "lesson learned" never to do business with this dealership again. Further Edit (2). Mike's response below claimed he was on the call. He did not announce himself. When the service manager called me, he said he was just returning my missed call/voice mail and was not aware of the reason for my call. Why would a senior manager be (stealthily) on a call if they didn't know I was calling with a complaint? Edit 1. The Service Manager called me and, after discussing the case, said that if I came back in, they would do a more thorough inspection as long as I deleted this review. When I asked if I had heard him correctly, he denied saying it and said he would send me a refund for the inspection. Original review: I had an appointment time at 11am. When I made the call I specifically asked for a detailed inspection of the used Camry I had recently bought. I was told they did a 160 point inspection for $180. I was asked if it was OK that the report was emailed to me rather than hard copy. The person making my booking said that at the mileage I had (125k), they would need to check spark plugs and other 100-125k maintenance items because they couldn't see a maintenance record (previous owner was a mechanic and did his own servicing). I arrived at 10:50 and was told it would take 90 minutes. After almost 3 hours of waiting, I texted the associate, and he came to tell me that he had waited on a senior tech and that he had only just started the inspection. When I mentioned the 11 am appointment time, he said that was just for check-in, not the inspection. If I had been told this at the time, I could have made alternate arrangements. When I finally got the hard copy report (he said he couldn't email it to me) it was only 30 items ($150), not 160, and basic things like the battery test results and the details of axle boot repair were missing. I asked if there were pictures to support the findings and he said no. While I was checking in he took a call from another customer and I clearly heard him say that he had reviewed the video of the service and was able to confirm the findings. This appears to be standard operating procedure, but I was not allowed to see it. As part of my process I uploaded the report to Chat GPT which highlighted the missing items on the report, including the lack of inspection of the spark plugs which I had been promised on the initial call. When I told Daniel I had run it through AI and had some concerns, he walked away and muttered "we don't use AI here". Maybe you should start and achieve better quality inspection results and give your people some customer service training. Needless to say I will not be returning and will let everyone know what a horrible experience I had. Over 4 hours with zero communication, no apology, and snide remarks.

Wednesday January 8th I made an appointment for Saturday Jan 11th @ 10am for my Nissan Sentra to be serviced due to a loud thumping noise. The Service Manager appeared not wanting to take my car out to test drive it to see/hear the problem after stating he would when i initially arrived. Then the head mechanic was told by him to take it for a test drive. I provided information on what I was hearing...to me the car sounds like something is loose and is about to come apart any day now. After patiently waiting in the waiting room with my 4yr old son, I was informed of the issue. The service manager stated he needed to order a part and it would be in early next week. I asked if he could provide a loaner vehicle. Well apparently loaners are no longer provided. The thumping sound coming from the car I drive my son to and from school in is getting worse. He stated the service manager is busy and he could have him call me back. This car is truly making me think any day now we are going to be stranded. Aaron stated I could leave the car there. Ok sounds great! But what am I to drive in the meantime?! I asked again for a temporary vehicle. I then asked what's the General Manager name...things seem to change.
