I've never had anything except fantastic service from other Subaru dealers. My first visit here was not pleasant. I scheduled an oil change. I got confirmation of the appointment. I showed up and they had no record of the appointment, so I had to give them all of my information again. Then, I presented a $75 coupon for the synthetic oil change. I got this from their website while booking my appointment. I also had a $25 off coupon from another dealer. He asked if I wanted to have my tires rotated. I said yes. Then he printed out an estimate for $120. When I asked how it went from $75 to $120, he said, "No, no. That doesn't have any discounts applied yet. The discounts will be on there after the service". I asked him how much the total was going to be and he said I'd see it when I picked up the car, but it would include discounts from either the $75 coupon or the $25 off coupon. When I picked up the car, it was $112. I asked to see a breakdown of it and he said [paraphrased], "You agreed to $120 when you dropped the car off and I added the coupon. I applied the $25 off coupon from the other dealer. What problem do you have? Do you want to see a manager?" All I asked for was a description of how my $75 oil change plus a tire rotation got to $120. That would suggest a tire rotation was $45. On top of that, I had asked them to check to see if there was any obvious leak in my exhaust due to a rear-end accident I had been in. Not only did he not write anything on the ticket, he didn't give me any feedback about it. When I asked, he replied, "Oh, it's good". Lastly, I had asked them to listen for a whining sound when the steering wheel was turned. Online this looks like a problem for my year of vehicle. They said they could not reproduce the sound but would go out with me and listen for it with me. Well, after our little discussion about the price of service, he did not go out with us to listen for the sound. I'm not saying the price was unfair. Their ability to have a cordial conversation with me and explain why they were charging me $120 should have been a pretty simple, friendly conversation. It was not. read more

We are VIP Subaru customers having purchased five. We came into the dealership with a letter from corporate indicating the status and the deal that they should offer. 1st they said that they could not do it for a car that was currently on the lot (false) and had to order us one. They then said they did so but over the course of the next 6 weeks, despite our asking, could never give us a final price (based on the dealer invoice) or a VIN (which would have been on the order) or full description of the vehicle. Then a death in the family forced us to leave town for several weeks and we were told that they would hold the car for us when it arrived. Of course a few days later the car came and sales person agreed with us that we would pick it up when we came back. Still couldn't get a price or any paperwork on the car. He said we would discuss it when we got back (red flag). He went on vacation saying we would talk when he got back. During his vacation the sales manager reached out to demand that we come get the car. He claimed that the car had been on the lot for 4 weeks (it had been 3) and that we had to come and get it. I explained the situation and that we were out of state. He told us that the person was not authorized to agree to the date that we had stated. I encouraged him to sell the car to someone else and we would do the deal when we were back (reasonable I thought). He said delay would be a few months, which I told him would be fine. Then he changed his tune and told me that he could not sell it to someone else (false). I called a dealer I know near where we are staying (in Virginia, where we are during this time) and discovered the falsehoods and the fact that since there was no paperwork, there was no binding contract on the part of the seller or the buyer. So, in 15 minutes, made all the arrangements I needed - got the paperwork, VIN, price, and will have a new CrossTrek waiting for me at an agreed upon timing of my convenience. I don't know if the problem is training, professionalism or that this dealership is a throwback to the "good old days" of car salesman who lie, coerce and put you in an emotional state (angry or upset) so you end paying more than you should have just to get out of there. read more

This dealership has problems. They quoted me a price for a 60K service that was 40% higher than the nearest competing Subaru dealer. Included in this quote were sparking plugs at $27 each and numerous untruths told by the "service advisor" which, disappointingly, was not my usual service advisor! I own three Subarus, and this dealership lost all of my business when they tried to gouge me. Don't get ripped off! Get your Subaru serviced elsewhere! read more

Do NOT use these folks for windshield replacement! I am on 2nd window with them that was NOT rock related. Obviously Cheap Glass or Poor Install! I took in to have them inspect, and they did not stand behind their work or products. Onward for all services. read more

Lots of promised from our salesman (Greg Weaver) on service after the sale (if they would pick up/deliver the car for service) they referred us back to the salesman saying they didn't normally do that. Back to Greg - he was extremely irritated that we would actually call him on his promise. He ended up picking it up himself but said he would never do it again. I guess Greg is the poster child for car salesman promises. Maybe he was a military recruiter in a former life. Fast forward - 3 times since we've owned the car it would not start or jump start and we've had to have it towed back to the dealer (under warranty). The service department is NOT a fan of warranty work. They like to concentrate on appointments and if you break down under warranty, they tell you they'll get to it when they can. Each time they charged the battery and told us that we must have left the dome light on or something of that sort that drained the battery. When it did it a 4th time I just installed a new battery myself and I haven't had a problem since. There are a lot of good dealership out there. I'll take my money to one of them. read more

My husband and I were interested in an Outback. Found a nice 2015 at this dealership, came in two days before our terrible experience and test drove. Called about pricing, wanted to try to match 24 out the door at the price was 23 online. Veronica, the online sales manager said the price sounded reasonable but that we would have to come in to get final pricing, we told her it was a long drive and just wanted to make sure she thought they'd be in line with this price, she said YES. We drove 1 hour to the dealership, when we got there, the Sales Manager Keith said that he didn't work with us the day prior he just put us in a car, so no one was assined to us, so we were met with Greg Weever (Snr. Sales Consultant apparently) who repeatedly informed us that the sales administration work he was doing "wasn't [his] job", shamed us for not being able to "afford" 26k for a 56k mile, 2015 outback, told us how "RARE" it was due to the engine size, asked us if we "really made this drive out here in hopes of getting it for 24k out the door". When he pointed to 26k+ price and asked if we couldn't meet him there, we said no probably not, he immediately stood up and dismissed us from his office. We left, but when we got to our car he chased us out to say that he might have other cars for us to look at. I told him we would not buy from him and left. We did call and let Veronica know, she was more interested in defending herself and justifying that it also isn't her job. I wonder WHO's job it is to sell at this dealership because all three people we dealt with, Keith, Veronica and Greg Weever denied accountability for selling to us. We had financing already, excellent credit and approved up to 26k. There was no reason for our treatment. Happy to say, I now own a 2017 of the same model, trim, color, etc. for 25k out the door. HOW can they justify this? Nightmarish! read more

Went to this dealership and met Sales Manager Kevin Madeo. He seemed so nice. Detailed the vehicle (Subaru Outback) well. Now before I go any further, I will say that I know car sales people and car buyers often bicker over prices and deals are not always made. I want people to know though that this review is not being made because we couldn't come to an agreement on price with this place. I am writing this to let you know about how rude and entitled this man, the SALES MANAGER Kevin Madeo was. So he my husband discussed our USAA buying service and he said he would be able to come close to the numbers which this buying service quoted us. I called him 2 days later and he said he would email me a price work up. When I saw the price, it was over $1000 more than our USAA price. I wasn't angry-i figured I could nicely show him the numbers I had and then we would negotiate somewhere in the middle. I emailed him our quoted price in a nice way and told him I thought we could get closer in price than that. I received a response that blew my mind. This guy who had seemed so friendly and kind to start with became a jerk in less than a minute . He sent a short, rude email back saying he sold these vehicles at sticker price every day. He basically said he didn't need my business at all. He ended the email and ended the car buying discussion abruptly. That's fine if we can't come to terms of making any kind of deal. But I was left wondering, why the change in his demeanor? Why the Jekyll and Hyde? So don't be misled by first appearances. He acted psycho in the blink of an eye. For me, Subaru of Hilton Head was not competitive when comparing them to the dealership in Savannah for price and trade-in on a new Outback.

I have been wanting to test drive a 14+ Forester XT for 3-4 months now. Unfortunately, the closest Subaru dealer to me with a Forester XT in stock is about 2.5-3 hrs away. Last week I made a trip down to Beaufort, SC and decided to stop by Hilton Head Subaru while I was there. At last I had found a dealer with a Forester XT that wasn't hours out of my way! I walked in and was greeted by the salesman, Greg Weaver, and I told him I wanted to test drive the Forester XT. After some confusion on his part as to which Forester on their lot was actually an XT and not a 2.5i he finally found the keys. For the test drive, I was going to take a drive down the highway directly in front of the dealership. The speed limit there is 60mph. Approximately 3-4 seconds after I start down the highway, going straight, the salesman grabbed the steering with both hands, pulling on it and says, "Young lady you're not driving appropriately! You don't own this car!" Of course I'm completely confused and concerned by his crazy behavior as I have only reached 40mph at this point! No rubber was laid, no tire screeching, no flat foot, aggressive driving. I had to swat his hands away from the steering wheel and almost come to a complete stop (on a 60mph highway!) to keep the vehicle on the road!!!! As soon as he grabbed the steering wheel I decided this test drive was over and headed for the first break/U-turn section of the median to go back to the dealership. I make the U-turn at an appropriate, slow rolling speed knowing there's something wrong with this guy and after I am in the road, going less than 20mph he grabs the steering wheel again with both hands and says "that's not appropriate driving!" I managed to stop the vehicle just before heading into the median, towards oncoming traffic. We get back to the dealership at which point I requested to speak to the sales manager and repeatedly asked my salesman, Greg Weaver, for his name or business card and every time he refused. In the sales manager's office this salesman continued to act in a very unprofessional manner. I have test driven a Mazda at this same dealership back in 2008 and have test driven WRX, STi's, and Foresters at other Subaru dealerships. I have never encountered such a crazy and unprofessional car salesman in my entire life! I unfortunately still haven't gotten a chance to really drive the Forester XT. My total test drive was less than 1 mile and never reached the speed limit! I had only driven about 1000 feet when this guy grabbed the steering wheel the first time. I'd recommend making the drive to the Savannah or Charleston Subaru dealers instead. read more

I took my high mileage legacy wagon there because the air conditioning wasn't working, thinking it only needed a recharge. This was done a year ago by a Midas dealer and it worked fine. Instead they told me I needed a complete new air conditioning system at a cost over two thousand dollars. Needless to say I rejected their offer, getting out of there with a bill for $177 just to look at it. I went to Autozone and bought a recharge kit for $29 and did the simple repair myself. It has been working fine for the past 6 months. I don't trust this outfit at all. read more

I called Thursday and told them I was having my Subaru Legacy towed to them and told them I had checked the engine code and knew it was low fuel pressure caused by a bad fuel pump. They told me they could check it out first thing in the morning and they would call me as soon as they had it fixed. At 3pm on Friday, I called and they still hadn't looked at it, but said they would call me right back and tell me what was going on. At 5:30pm, I called back and they told me it was low pressure probably caused by a fuel pump and they would work on it more Saturday. I called back at noon today (Saturday) and they told me the Subaru mechanic doesn't work on Saturday and they wouldn't look at it again until Monday. So I took my trailer out there and got it and I will have a new fuel pump from Auto Zone tonight. They didn't even care that I took the car back from them and were absolutely oblivious to the fact that they had wasted 3 days worth of my time! Terrible customer service, and obviously not a mechanic amongst them! read more
