Very disappointed after 2 years of my flatbed 3500 being in and out of their shop rear seal on 2nd transmission is leaking and after convo with Auto Tech , I was told warranty had expired . My truck was in their shop more than it was on the road , 12 k miles or 1 yr warranty on trans ( of course warranty would expire if it was in their shop for 1 year or more trying to get trans right ) I've sent them a lot of business but not anymore . Also my 2500 Dodge truck had starting issue and Lee put new alternator and tensioner belt on it without hearing video I had of truck not starting , that was $1600 and same thing happened again and after watching YouTube video it was fuse box associated with fuel pump , which was $250 fix . I cannot recommend this facility. The people are pleasant, however that is the only positive. I took in my BMW as an engine malfunction had occurred. After two full days I had not heard a word as to status, estimate, etc. So, I phoned. I was told that the person needed was "out" and that I would get a return call asap. No return call was made that day. Next day, I called again, and a similar story was told, again I received no call. After two more days, I finally got an "estimate"...which was simply that I needed to make this an insurance claim! When I told them that this was NOT an accident, but a mechanical breakdown, and that what I wanted was an actual estimate to repair, I was told "$25-$30,000...it's really messed up and you need to try and get insurance to pay for it". I (obviously) decided to take my vehicle elsewhere, but was forced to pay $169 for the "initial evaluation". I asked for a discount as they certainly did not perform any kind of meaningful inspection, but this was not given. I had the vehicle towed to a BMW Dealer, who actually gave me a real estimate, and charged only $99 for the evaluation. I want a refund! If you have a high-end vehicle, avoid this establishment. read more

They had my husbands car for 3 weeks. They told us they needed to drive it at least 100 miles. Well they took the toll road in his car. We never take the toll road, and we got a bill from NTTA with dates that they had the car. Now we are stuck with a toll bill. Also when we got our car back the radio stopped working. We took it back and they told us it went out and we needed a new one. Turns out the guy who worked on our car put a fuse in backwards. They just wanted more of our money. I always take my car here. The MB dealer charges were killing me. Jim knows high end cars and provides fast and courteous service. He'll always give you an estimate and stick to it. Awful!!! Don't use this company. Car had AC issue. Charged $1200 + kept car over a week. Tried to charge more than original quote. Guess what.. Drove car home- no AC.. They claim no responsibility for AC still not working. Quoted an additional $400 to repair. Who replaces an entire AC system and gives it back broken????? If you want a quality shop: DUANES in Euless who took the time to find problem and fix for a lot less. read more

This shop agreed to install my brake pads that I bought from the dealer (bringing in unbroken sealed box and invoice) and most mechanics won't do this. They were polite, friendly and easy to work with. Would have given them 5 stars except I was quoted one price and when I paid the price had gone up $20 for no change in anything quoted. I was in the parking lot before it struck me that I had been overcharged and decided to let it go. But I don't appreciate that. Still, even at $20 overcharge, the price was the same another shop (further from my home) had quoted to install the brake pads. read more

Great Service for a fair price! Most folks who drive a luxury car in DFW know about Auto Tech. As such, it probably doesn't occur to most of their customers to post a review. We've taken one of our vehicles to a very well known dealership whose mechanics misdiagnosed the root cause of a problem. We were fortunate that the highly skilled Auto Tech mechanics figured it out. In addition to repairing vehicles they also provide a lemon check service. I came in today for something very very minor. Needed some screws to my undercage. Waited an hour and a half which was outrageous when I asked how long it would take and the person said pretty quickly. Person told me 65 then when paying it was 70. The labor was only 25 mins or so which was very annoying for the wait and the cost. Was charged 5 dollars for sales taxes? I feel very ripped off. I could have went to the dealership for that cost. I don't see myself coming back. Update:Complete garbage and FYI if you leave a negative review the owner, who is extremely unprofessional and lies, will try to make you look like an #%^. They lied and way, WAY over charged. They deserve no star. I took my car to AUTOTECH at 1524 North Beltline in Irving, Texas, because the air conditioning GRADUALLY had begun putting out warmer and warmer air until it eventually was not cooling at all. AUTOTECH told me no "TEMPORARY FIX" was available and charged me $387.54 to fix the problem. I knew a "TEMPORARY FIX" was indeed available; because, obviously, when an air conditioner GRADUALLY begins putting out warmer and warmer air, that means there is a VERY SLOW leak somewhere. A SLOW leak could have been fixed TEMPORARILY by simply replacing the refrigerant, and then it would have taken SEVERAL MORE WEEKS for that refrigerant to once again leak out (during which time I could have gotten competing bids) After AUTOTECH repaired my air conditioner, I later saw in the store that "REFRIGERANT AND OIL SEALANT" is sold in a can (with the hose and gauge attached) for ONLY ABOUT $25!! A sign by the can of refrigerant says to go to the manufacturer's website to see an instructional video on how to install the "Refrigerant and Oil Sealant" in your car's air conditioner YOURSELF. When refrigerant is so cheap, why then did AUTOTECH lie to me and tell me no "TEMPORARY FIX" was available and then proceed to charge me $387.54 to replace my refrigerant and a hose? They told me the first step would be for them to replace the refrigerant in my system in order to determine the source of the leak. Well, one could readily see the source of the leak without them doing that. When the repair was complete, I reminded them that I would like to have the hose which they had replaced. When they brought it to me, they explained the oil on the outside of the hose between the rubber and metal connector indicated once all the refrigerant in the system had leaked out the oil then had begun to leak out. Okay, that oil on the outside of the hose proved that as soon as they opened the hood they could readily see the source of the leak.was that connector. They didn't need to refill the refrigerant in order to see more oil leak out. When my a/c stopped putting out cool air was when the refrigerant was completely gone and the oil began leaking out. Nonetheless, they charged me $129.00 for refilling the refrigerant this FIRST TIME. AFTER they refilled the refrigerant and determined the source of the leak they explained they would be able to quote me a price for repairing the leak and refilling the system with refrigerant for the SECOND TIME (for an additional $129.00). Like I said before, it was completely unnecessary for them to refill my a/c system twice since the oil leak showed them before they did anything where the leak was. After examining my vehicle, they claimed they needed to replace a hose (because it was leaking near the metal connector to the hose), so their full repair costs would be $387.54, which seemed EXCESSIVE. At this point, I asked if there was not a less expensive "TEMPORARY FIX" they could do (i.e. just replace the refrigerant and wait several weeks until it leaked out on its own). With the mechanic standing nearby, maintaining eye contact with us, and listening to our every word, the receptionist claimed there was no "TEMPORARY FIX." Even though I knew that was a lie, it was very hot in Texas; so I gave my approval for the repair. read more

My Crossfire broke down yesterday morning and I had to leave it where it was at a gas station. The combined stress of being without a car and being at a mechanic's mercy with repair costs adds to the anxiety. Found this company on Yelp, made one call and within an hour my car was picked up by a tow. By mid after noon the car had been diagnosed and the price was totally reasonable, especially when I had been ripped off from New York to Florida to Seattle and was dreading cost with this company. Since it was my only means of transportation they picked me up the next morning after they were finished. Twenty four hours later my car is running and has a 12 month guarantee. Their service and pricing are all 5 stars. It would be great if Auto Tech was a franchise but the people of Irving have an asset that is both rare and needed elsewhere too. read more

This is my new (and) only auto repair shop. I had a weird electrical problem that every place I took it to said could only be repaired by the dealer The dealer told me the repair would be a minimum of $1000 and the car is only worth $4000. It wouldn't pass inspection so it had very little trade in value but I also would not be able to drive it. After some searching around I saw very good Yelp reviews so I took it in, Excellent experience. Not a fancy place by any means but clean & orderly. I had my 96 Silverado towed to auto tech on Beltline in irving to have some work done on it unfortunately I was in an accident. I chose auto tech because of the reviews here on YELP and the majority of the people that used them gave four to five stars so I decided to give them a try plus it was also close to my house. My truck was towed there on March 24, 2015 to have some axle work done on it and I was given an estimate of 235.00, I know an estimate is a guess of how much the charge would be they also said it would be done in a week I received a call from auto tech about how much the price is the price shot up to 1,250.00 I needed my truck really bad because I only have one vehicle so I gave them the go ahead to do the work a week later I gave them a call and wanted to know the status of the work they told me that it was ready but that they noticed that there was another problem, they stated that do to the accident on the passenger side it caused my gear box to leak and my steering wheel to be upside down, I let them know that I was told that they inspected my truck and that the price of $1,250.00 was to cover all the work done and that no other problem was found. Now I'm at their mercy because either I can take my truck home and not have power steering or I can pay an extra charge to have the gear box work done so again I okayed the work to be done, another week has gone by and I called again to know the status of my truck and it is now ready, so I get off of work early to pick my truck up and low and behold the front of my truck is not straight and like others I was upset because a 1,250.00 now ended up being 1,600.00 after the gear box is put in and my bumper is not straight so my truck was not finished like they said it would be. I feel that if they are going to charge me 1,600.00 that the bumper would at least be straight but it's not. Well I'm not sure how good their mechanics are but I gave the one star because of the awesome customer service that was given to me by a gentleman named Luis. I also now feel that everyone that gave a four or five star rating to auto tech are the mechanics at auto tech. read more

I have been lucky over the years to take my vehicle to true honest mechanics. Since moving to a new city its hard finding a good shop, i needed good work done to my car and insurance was to pay for the cost. Biggest mistake was taking my car there, firstly they didn't fix the issue at all, didn't bother to even give me a proper receipt with hours worked on the car, what was done etc, all they bloody wanted was the insurance money.
