FD Autoworks is AMAZING...I was visiting Redding when my front splash shield broke and was dragging underneath my front end on the freeway. So I Yelped local Redding automotive repair shops. I noticed that FD Autoworks had the highest rating and when I read the reviews, I noticed they were very helpful to another out of Towner with car problems. I decided to give them a call. I have to say, these guys bent over backwards to assist me...Thank you to Brad who answered the phone and spoke to the owner about my situation. Although they were already busy, they took the time to look at my car right away. The repair would require a part to be ordered, but my car was okay to drive and I could follow up with my mechanic at home. FD Autoworks looked up the part I needed and even spoke with my mechanic over the phone to communicate what was going on and the part to order. FD Autoworks took care of me just like my own trusted mechanic at home. I can't even begin to express my relief and gratitude-- especially with being alone and 5 hours away from home in 112 degree weather! Attention all those seeking a great mechanic: look no further! The folks at Autoworks definitely took care of me. I was in alone and in Redding for a summer job when I noticed my car (2009 Subaru Forester) was leaking oil, AC compressor working a bit too hard, and my front struts were acting weird. They cleaned the AC compressor and asked me to see if that helped (rather than just replacing it - which fixed the issue), found my struts were leaking (replaced and drives great), and repaired where my engine was leaking oil (loose bolt from the timing job done by another mechanic). Because I was leaving a couple weeks after bringing my car in, they squeezed me in so they could make sure my car was in good shape before I made the 900 mile trip back home. All they guys were communicative, upfront, timely, and explained their findings on a jargon-appropriate level. Go here for car repairs! They didn't ask I post a review, but suggested I post a review on Yelp after I asked where I could help spread the word. 2nd time is this shop and this is my 2nd review of it. Outstanding service. If you own a Subaru and want it done right and quickly. This is the shop. Forget the dealer. Shop is knowledgeable on aftermarket performance parts as well. Which if you own a WRX, is a huge bonus. My first visit was for something completely outside of my comfort level. Had an aftermarket limited slip installed. This visit was after I put some coilovers on the car. AJ quickly diagnosed the issue. (One of my making) and had me out the door in less than an hour. AJ knew the issue before we completed the small loop around the block. Also found a CV boot tear and providing pictures for it is a huge thing for me. read more

You do not have to worry if you are being taken to the cleaners as Andy and John are extremely honest and professional in all that they do. We are traveling and our a/c went wonky in 98 degree weather. I called Autoworks. Joy took my info quickly and gave a rundown of our issue to Andy. Less than 3 hours later, my car was in the works! John did an amazing job servicing our 2011 Ford Transit's engine. Not only did he go above and beyond with the repair (had his technician diagnose and text us photos of the issue), he squeezed our van in last minute and was able to accommodate us ASAP.
