Terrible customer service. In fact I left after waiting and waiting. Three "too" busy employees never looked at me, never said anything. One even ignore me when the customer she was helping went outside to talk to a different employee. No, "I be with you next" or "can I help you." Nothing, but then when her customer came back and she was actually helping him, the phone rang. And SHE ANSWERED it! I was right there in plain view and never acknowledged. Went over to O'Reilly's. Awesome people, have hard to find parts! Called to inquire about a product, was politely put on hold , while another customer was being helped. After few minutes, Luis on the phone, reassured me he'll take care of me after he was done helping the customer. How polite, shortly after he was able to locate for me what I needed,(Cataclean - hard to find in Cali) and hold it upfront for me. When I walked in, Luis, the Store Manager, expeditiously checked me out. Luis is very knowledgeable, very professional, and most importantly a great guy! He offered to help me install a new set of wipers(rocket science to me) also. So I was on my way shortly. Very happy. I will stop by when passing thru. AutoZone in Fernley are absolutely amazing. Kris and her driver helped me when I was stranded in Lovelock from a bad alternator. She not only had it dispatched first thing in the morning for the 1 hour drive to Lovelock but she also recommended the shop that installed it. KM Auto, Josh one of the owners great people in Lovelock. The coordination and the professionalism that came from this endeavor was up lifting as I had not seen customer service at this level for a long time. I know that in my travels on I-80 between California and Colorado that in these 2 cities there are people that are there that TRULY want to help. The store associate on the phone was super friendly and polite. When I entered the store and brought the battery in, I was again approached by helpful and friendly staff. The Auto Zone employees here are the best! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I'll tell you a little story about how they helped us out. We were coming from Boise last Saturday. It had been a long drive already and we were headed for the SF Bay Area. We had a 1985 Ford F350 diesel truck and an enclosed trailer. We got stuck about 40 miles north of Fernley and had to get towed into town. About 5pm, the tow truck driver pulled up to Auto Zone on a side street that was adjacent to the store. He said that he doubted a repair facility would be open until Monday. We went inside the store and explained our problem. They tested our batteries and it turned out they were good. That meant we needed a starter. I thought, "Where are we going to find a starter for a 32 year old diesel truck"? It turned out that the store actually had one in stock. Amazing. As it was on the slow end of the day, there weren't too many customers, and Jesus Torres, the Assistant Manager said, "I'll be out in a few minutes with some tools to give you a hand". I thanked him and went out to put on my coveralls and retrieve my tools from the trailer. To my surprise, Jesus actually came out and helped me. I mean, he REALLY helped me. Before I knew it, he was doing most of the work, with me handing him tools. This is the most amazing customer service experience I've ever had. The starter was removed, the new one was installed in a jiffy, and we were back on the road! I tried to pay for the starter when we took it out of the store, but Jesus said, "Don't worry. Pay for it when it's installed and working". Who ever heard of such service from an auto parts store? In the end, I felt I had a new friend and was very grateful for the help.
