I visited this AutoZone recently and this review only got 5 stars due to the AMAZING employee Jesus that went well beyond helping me out. I was having a rough week (battery giving me issues amongst other things) and prayed to God that all was going to be well and a sign that would bring me peace. Now, when I arrived I was originally being helped by another male employee. He didn't really seem to want to help and seemed slightly bothered as I assume he was leaving for break shortly. Anywho, I came in for a battery as mine was giving me issues. I looked up a few that fit my vehicle prior to my arrival and just cross referenced with him. I had him check my battery prior to purchasing the battery. We went out to my vehicle and I popped open the hood and propped it open for him. He connected the device without bothering to clean the battery (there was corrosion on one side). He said it was a bad battery (I usually had someone else check my vehicle but now it relies on me, therefore still learning things) so I just took his word for it. We got back in so I may purchase the new battery. Thank goodness Jesus was at the computer he was previously using as he practically left me there for someone else to tend to. Although very unprofessional, I'm happy that was the case because Jesus was quite literally God sent to me. He looked at the old battery still in my hood as he was gracious enough to help me switch them out and was quite amazed that the previous employee had not been as thorough as he should have. He checked it once more to ensure it was the battery itself and it seemed like my battery was decent but still giving me issues so I decided to still change it. My car gave him a hard time removing the battery but he was eventually able to switch them out. Not only was he helpful, but super informative about everything. Was kind enough to even offer to check another device that could be at fault. I said "Thank you Jesus" (without knowing his name yet) and he smiled and thats when I saw his name tag. That's when I knew this was a sign that everything was going to be fine. I could not be any happier with the service that Jesus provided. He definitely deserves a BIG RAISE & even get moved up so he may train some of the other employees that lack the same sense of work ethic and ability to help. To any of the managers or corporate employees reading this, definitely take the time to recognize this wonderful employee as we lack individuals with this work ethic. I went to return an item that i had bought maybey a few weeks back , I had my receipt and i payed cash and they would not return it becuase they said the purshase was not coming up in there system which i never heard of but i tokd them if ibhave my receipt with the proof that i bought it why wouldnt i get refund or a store credit they said that was store policy so i ask to see the store policy and they said it was posted outside the entrance door i went to look and for one it was not visival or readable so i ask for the manager and there was no manager i ask for the number for corporate and they couldnt find it, they were very rude and not helpful at all very unhappy with the customer service read more

If I could give this store negative stars, I would I showed up an hour before they closed tonight because my battery basically needed to be replace. I drive a hybrid, so I have two batteries, and when I arrived at the store, the younger gentleman there was free and I asked him if he could check my battery for me. He said OK went outside with me And first off I don't know much about cars so I expect the professionals to know a little bit more and he didn't know where my battery was and he was like well I can't help you check your battery if you don't know where it's at and so I literally had to YouTube where my battery was on my car and then when he saw my battery instead of trying to help me figure out how to check it or how to remove it to where he has access to check my battery, he basically told me that he could not check the battery because of the location and that I would have to take my whole car apart to get to the battery. He also told me that his store doesn't sell the battery that my car needed which I knew was a lie because I looked online and it showed that they had two of my batteries in stock so instead of fighting with the clerk, I just left and went to the nearest AutoZone from his store, and that gentleman saved my life tonight. read more

I came in here to look at some stuff so I could clean my truck. I was browsing the selection of air fresheners and going back and fourth between a few additional products while on the phone when one of the associates came up and asked if I needed help. I said no thank you I'm just looking around and then he asked me to stay up in the front of the store. I calmly put the air fresheners back on the shelf where they go and walked back over the the wheel/tire cleaning products to put back my tire shine when I was chased around the isles. I put the product back in it's spot on the shelf and walked out without saying a word. Honestly I've never had a more unpleasant experience at this store. read more

Wednesday, November 20th was a rainy day. I went to use my windshield wipers and I couldn't see a thing. I went to the Auto Zone on Mountain Ave and was so pleased that I did. Worst autozone I've ever been to. Associates don't want to help with your questions. Walk you to where your product is located and then when you're trying to ask questions, they walk away. The associate (big bald guy) sees me waiting to pay then does an audit on the register and doesn't tell me to check out at a different station while another customer walks in and is taken right away by another associate. Went there today 8/28/19 and tried to return a Freon can for its core deposit the store manager was helping me and he would not return the car and he said all transactions with the Freon cans have been returned I believe one of their employees did not register the warranty on one of the cans. A couple of days ago I bought s starter for my 1995 Range Rover at store #2817 at 225 Broadway Chula Vista. I had my mechanic in Spring Valley install it. The starter worked fine until I returned the core to the store today. I went to leave after getting my core refund. The Range Rover did not start, I thought maybe my battery had an issue. So, I went back into the store and ask to borrow their jumper box, but it mysteriously did not work. I then thought it was an outside chance that the new starter solenoid was stuck. So, I asked the counter person who refunded my core charge to borrow a hammer to tap on the side of my solenoid on my BRAND NEW REBUILT Starter. Well I believe he didn't understand what I was asking for, because SPANISH is the 1st language of all personnel working in that store. Anyways, no hammer was provided by the store! I had to WALK HOME and get my tools. Turns out I was able to tap on the side of the solenoid ever so slightly and it started right away. This is not right! I bought this starter because it was REBUILT in USA! YES, I know you'll replace the starter, but whose going do the work!! I paid my mechanic $120 to do the installation will AUTO ZONE pay for that?? No. So therefore I am now stuck with a crappy REBUILT STARTER! I can not afford this double expense. I am on social security, not in the budget!! So, I want to WARN OTHERS ABOUT TWO CRAPPY THINGS; STORE ATTITUDE AND below stand STARTER REBUILD (DURALAST, store brand). read more

I mean , I always prefer auto zone over pep boys but the store on mountain and fourth , its employees, don't have a clue on customer satisfaction. James was polite , ok , the other guy , Frankie , not so sure. I can't believe some people would lose customers over so little things. I mean how much these companies spend on ads , like super bowl, to get customer and sell their products? Anyways, my remote battery was out so it needed replace. At first , it seems James didn't wanted to help me to open the remote to get the battery out. He did give me excuses. Did didn't have the right screwdriver. I asked if we could use something like a knife to open it. Oh no, he said, he always uses the right equipment for the right job. After I kept on insisting, we went to the screwdriver section and found the right one . OMG , how lucky I was . He got the battery I needed. But I asked, what if the problem is the remote ? How am I buying something I m not going to use ? Frankie got involved, well, he said, if you open it , you can't return it . It's yours. Honestly, if these guys were Being dicks, management should get involved. If this is a company policy they should change it. It's bullshit. So reader, be aware of lil things like this.
