I'm a big fan of Napa Auto parts because most independent repair shops buy direct from Napa or seek OEM parts from dealership. If you're a DIY person like myself, I will definitely make a effort within reason to replace. I have a dual headlamp and one side burned out but I was still able to run both high beams and contemplated giving the business to a dealership that charges $90.00 per hour and was quoted a 2 hour job plus parts, no thank you. With so many places I still like buying from Napa for my project and will skip the other chains. Napa has been around for at least 85 years and you won't find anything else but auto parts. They don't stock accessories like other places, just good honest parts that one requires. The actual store isn't that big and basically has miscellaneous items on the floor and real goods are behind the counter with aisles of inventory. They also have a very nice and friendly website to place order for pick up or shipped. However, you will have to reach out to someone at counter for assistance like I did. I was having a difficult time locating a H4 light bulb. The clerk who assisted me answered all my questions and gave me a Napa part of equal in a dual pack. I'll replace both and store the older working lamp as a spare to maintain same brightness. My purchase was $26.45 and I didn't have to seek commercial service at dealership and incur expensive labor. Be careful when purchasing product from NAPA, they have a no return policy on product that they don't tell you about. Even when product is 1 day old and in the un opened original box. Extremely poor customer service, you'd think when purchasing something for $450 that they up sold you on someone would mention there is no return policy. read more

Up until yesterday, I had never been to a Napa Auto Parts store. And now I know why. Dimly lit, sparsely stocked shelves and way understaffed. After roaming aimlessly for 10 to 15 minutes trying to find a replacement brake light bulb and and trying in vain to determine which size wiper blades I needed to get, I finally gave up. The two cashiers were dealing with the original customers that were at the registers when I first came in, and there were still 2 people in front of me waiting for help, so that wasn't a good sign. I just wanted to run in, buy my stuff, and get out. So much for that pipe dream. I ended up going across the street and went to Autozone, got my stuff and got out of there in a heartbeat. My wife and I were traveling from Arizona and had to replace both batteries in our diesel pickup. It was on a Sunday, and they were open! Terri, Scott and Kevin were outstanding! All three of them helped me at various times to get us exactly what we needed and back on the road. Terri advised me on the best products to buy and what deals were available. I have only been here a few times, but each time I have received pleasant helpful service. Most recently Alfonso was very helpful when I needed a new car battery. I figured I needed a new one, but he tested the battery first to verify, recommended a good replacement, and helped me install the new battery. I shop at this location regularly for the last 5 years, enough so to know karen the manager by name. Yesterday i bought a part and tool from two gentle men. One tall nice guy and the other bald dude (assistant manager). The bald guy didnt look up once from the monitor whrn i asked for a tool....in fact...the tall guy got a rent a tool from the back that wouldnt work, so i explained what it was i neeeed....the bald guy stated...we dont have that still staring at the screen...then the tall guy searched the front of the store and found exactly what i needed... Why does the assistant manager not know what he carries? But the new guy does?? After taking it home, the part i got was the wrong one... I showed up 8 am before the store opened to return it... Same two guys working...and the bald guy told me that they dont have cash to refund me my money AND TO COME BACK LATER!!! This is bullshit, what kind of business doesnt have 60 dollars in cash to operate for its customers...now ive spent both my time and my money in gas driving to this location TWICE to get my money back... I limped my 2015 Chrysler into the parking lot of RC Napa on Foothill Blvd,after having to be jumped due to a dying battery, I only had 19 months on the current battery from Napa. Dont get me wrong Napa is a great company, but when I walked in, there were no customers and three people working, I handed the lady my receipt for my warranty and told her my battery was dying and hoped they had a replacement. I asked her if they replace batteries and she said "no they did not and were not allowed to" I asked her if i could borrow a couple of tools and again said they did not have any to loan out. After checking for the battery,She told me she did not have the one I needed and i asked if she could check other Napa's in area and if they did not i would need a jump. she said she could not do that. I had her check my battery which it seemed to be a bother. She did not seem to know what she was doing when she said the meter said my lights were showing on. Obvious they were not and due to low voltage it was giving a bad reading. I asked her if she could call the Napa in Phelan where I bought the Battery from and she said that was an independent location and did not have the number, I said "your are not helping me much and in front of her I located the number and called them and they had one. I went out to my car and it was dead. I walked back inside and again asked if they had a portable jumper battery. She said no when a male worker said yes they did and pointed to it. she came out and it took her two seconds to give a jump. PS the Battery i bought was $197.00 and for that i got absolutely Zero customer service. I had to drive 40 miles to get a new battery from great guys in Phelan Napa. Oh ya the lady at RC Napa was older and had a blue brace on her Left wrist. Napa, she needs a course in customer service and a little compassion. She did absolutely as little as she could. Horrific Store Manager and Services! First time I called (909) 483-2888 looking for auto parts. Karen answered. I did not hear her name and asked. She said, "I already gave it to you." I told her that I did not hear it clearly. She shouted and yelled VERY LOUD that hurts my ears. She did not apologize for her outrageous conduct yelling and screaming at me. I would not tolerate such horrific service, especially she is the manager, who has no respect to customers. I could see more of her intimidation if I asked for certain auto parts, etc. I do not want to spend my money there to support her. She is in the wrong job in SALES with her bullying conduct. This auto parts store is great for those who have classic cars and also for those who care about a quality product for their vehicles. Lots of mainstream auto parts stores such as AutoZone, Pep Boys and O'Reilly's are now not carrying as much products for vehicles that are pre-1964. I needed a spring for a break bar on a 61 Ford falcon and this was the only place that had it. It is a little pricier then AutoZone and Pep Boys however it's quality stuff and the customer service is great at this particular location. I will be going back to this location to purchase more parts for my classic car. The only reason why I gave this review a four out of five stars is because the hours of operation. They close a little early and sometime I can't make it to the location on time before they close. But other than that this is my new go to place. read more

I was very surprised to hear the Napa reviews . My husband is one of those " car guys" , so we have been there a lot. He usually orders online since you get a discount. He has talked to Karen on the phone for questions and he always has a good conversation with her. Whenever I have gone with him for parts, it's usually Karen that helps us. I am very satisfied with the NAPA brand, this store and the personnel working there. The counter people are very helpful and what ever I need is almost always in stock. As for the comments others have made regarding wait time, be patient. It is better to spend a few minutes in the store than to leave with the wrong part or something you didn't even need.
