I had had a new alternator put in on Friday and I mistakenly told the repair man that I had got my alternator at O'Reillys and it would have been still under warranty. I stopped into AutoZone and met with Jose and he was trying to explain to me what the situation was. My mechanics bought the alternator at O'Reillys, but my old one had been purchased at AutoZone and if I bought the new alternator at AutoZone, it would have been free! Ultimately, Jose was very kind. He agreed to give me the warranty anyways, which was very helpful to me because the repair that I just got on my car cost over $900. This warranty really helped me. Thanks Jose! I was meeting my son in Paso Robles so we could drive to LA for Thanksgiving together. He hit traffic (two hours away turned into four) and my battery died with my windows down while waiting for him (and it was getting cold!). Jake at AutoZone answered my call, and once my roadside service jumped me I drove over and Jake got his tools and made fast work of swapping out my battery for a new one. What could have turned out to be a nightmare was a heartwarming story of Thanksgiving! Thank you, Jake! Thank you for hiring Jake, AutoZone! Wish I could leave a negative. I purchased coolant from this auto zone after they told me it was the correct coolant (that they researched) for a 2015 jeep wrangler. It was in fact not the same and my engine overheated due to it. They sold me the 50/50 yellow coolant and I was told it was compatible with the pink coolant I had in my vehicle. Wrong, it jellied up and caused it to overheat. When I brought it to their attention, I was told it was not the coolant and it was another issue. I felt spoke down to because I was a female and that I didn't know anything. No store credit or refund was brought up, not even a (sorry to hear that) he was immediately defensive. Thank you to the store manager. He literally saved my family. We're 300 miles from home and abs system went on , the car completely started shutting down. We rolled on to spring street hoping to hit every green light until AutoZone. We were greeted by the store manager who checked the battery and alternator. I was traveling in the middle of 46 and my oil light went on. I couldn't find any gas station in Paso that would check my oil. Someone mentioned Auto Zone. Andy was amazing. He checked my oil and confirmed I was very low and needed a quart or two to safely complete my journey. He took care of everything. He was truly my knight in shinning armor. The store was impressive; very clean and pleasantly organized. From now on I will make a note of where Auto Zones are located when traveling through cities. Today I went in to return the wrong size rear wiper from the day before for my car, Ethan was really helpful and helped me find the right rear wiper that I needed and helped put it on. They had to get the right part transferred from the other store in Atascadero to the one in Paso and it wasn't much of a long wait it was like a 20- 30 minute wait and I went shopping came back and I had a really good experience. I definitely will be coming back for future parts and to know that if I need some help putting it on especially with a different kind of attachment that I'm not too familiar with and to make sure it actually goes on that was really cool. read more

SUPER RUDE EMPLOYEES, especially the lady with dark brown hair and glasses. Has no name tag, but her name is ANEESA. She was super unprofessional and always has problems with my mom. When we walked in we walked directly to the commercial accounts to get help and ANEESA saw us walk there and didn't tell us anything until a few minutes later she said "that is closed you need to come over here" with so much attitude, my mom asked why didn't you tell us? She then proceeded to say "you didn't ask" what? And from there she started getting really rude and giving us attitude and asking if I was ok super disrespectfully. The other guy JAIME was just standing smiling and laughing at the whole altercation, no one stepped in to help her calm down. Ed was kind enough to take over and help us. Called for a part, i asked if they had it, they wanted me to provide part number rather than looking it up. Said they had 1, so drove 20+ minutes to get it, only to be ignored when arriving. ( i was the only 1 in the store) clerk went to back, only to come out with the wrong part. Said they mismarked it. Asked to have it cross referenced, he told me he couldn't do that. Rude, inefficient, lazy. No wonder I was the only 1. Drove to o'riley, they looked up part, cross referenced, call another store, said they would have it there in 2 hours. I bought and Engine from them, and we took engine core to pick the new engine we didn't get much help to load the engine on truck , one employee lady just pointed at a pallet jack and just said "there you go", to load an engine a crane is needed , the manager was useless , just looking as we tried to load engine , he was more worried about getting his pallet back , we paid full price for engine was not cheap and for them just to ignore us , not right!, NEVER BUY ENGINES AGAIN IN Autozone Paso Robles We were never notified that we "the customers" were supposed to unload core and load new engine, no communication. read more

This is going to be a long one....We are from Bakersfield, CA. We were on our way to the beach for my wife's birthday, when our alternator went out. I was originally greeted by a lady at the counter (forgot name) who was very friendly and helpful. At first she went with me to check our battery, but could not get a reading on due to the low voltage, I told her it was an old battery, let's replace it anyways, purchased a new battery put it in with the tools they loaned me, but car was still not fixed. The District Manager came out to the vehicle to take a look at it (Memo Cobarrubias) he agreed that it could be the alternator also, He called over another manger (Uriel) who proceeded to help me. We realized at this time, it was going to be a little while. Memo was leaving to Fresno, but offered my wife and family a ride to the park so they could hang out there while car was being fixed (honestly who goes out of there way like that anymore?) While they were gone, Uriel took out my alternator, tested it, verified was bad, got a new alternator, verified it was good and installed our new alternator. Uriel did all of this in the very hot sun and while he as actually off the clock. This Auto Zone exceeded my expectations. They are the #1 example of customer service and in my opinion what it is to be just a good human being. Thanks to all of the staff and Paso Robles Auto Zone! read more
