So, today I realized there was a nail stuck in one of my tires. I remembered my father's advice to always go to Discount Tire and so I pulled up the Internet and quickly found the DT is closed on Sundays. I had filled up the tires a few times before realizing that a nail was in one of them. A lady at the corner gas station suggested I come to Autozone to get a plug kit and that the guys there would likely help me. Nope. They were giant unhelpful jerks. They refused to help me (I wanted them to help me figure it out, not just do it for me) and all were super hands off about the entire thing. They kept shifting me to each other so they wouldn't have to deal with it. Seriously? Needless to say, after this experience, I will not return as I don't need to meet any more unhelpful men and clearly all the employees I encountered are just that. Lame. read more

WARNING autozone has recently changed their battery testing policy and equipment. My battery passed the autozone battery test 3 times(after my car died twice), but failed my mechanics carbon pile load test. autozone will not honor the warranty unless the battery fails the less reliable autozone test. buy your batteries and other carr stuff somewhere else. read more

I am leaving my previous review below, but I subsequently had a terrible experience here. I needed a new car headlight, and they screwed it up and fried my car. It took three employees hours to get the headlight changed, and in the process of troubleshooting the damage that their sausage fingers had done in the engine, took out some fuse box thing and put it back upside down. At that point nothing electronic in my car worked, and the car itself wouldn't start the next day. A competent mechanic fixed it, but it cost me a significant amount of money and time in towing and mechanic fees. Autozone was not interested in reimbursing me for the damage they had caused. Old review: I just got home from having a new battery put in my car, and I was super happy with my new favorite car store! I am incompetent at cars, so I went in saying I thought my battery might be mostly dead. It was. Car stuff's expensive. I'll forgive them. The Autozone kid was super helpful though. He spent a good half hour inside car, removing the old battery (my car is the "labor intensive" kind of battery holder) and gouging out all the corrosion I had let accumulate. A half an hour! He could have easily just told me to do it myself. Many a restaurant or retailer could learn from the Autozone business model. Good service is awesome. read more

I've only been in an Autozone a handful of times, but this location exceeded my expectations last night. I started a hectic day with a dead battery and had to call friends to save me with jumper cables (I'm going to insist my future kids own & know how to use jumper cables because I don't have the foggiest idea how to do so!!). Miguel tested my battery. When the results came back positive for a working battery, he made a suggestion to troubleshoot for alternator issues. He asked if I had 30 minutes to drive around. He said if the battery increases in percentage after driving around, my alternator is okay as well! I told him I'd do anything to find out the issue. So, I set about driving around looking at Christmas lights to get the job done. Thirty minutes later and an additional test and VOILA! I'm in the clear. We solved the issue. They gave me some hints to make sure it doesn't happen again. Nice, helpful AND knowledgeable--the trifecta in auto store customer service!! Ps. They cannot change the battery on a BMW, but they will do what it takes to tell you what is going on with any car issue. I was fine with that-- read more

She made me feel like doing her job was a favor to me and when she finally did give me my refund she gave it to me in all 5 dollar bills out of spite for me making her do her job. Had a terrible experience here the other day with an employee at the counter who seemed to care less and wouldn't even look up or communicate with me. I needed a new battery and he didn't know how to work the register when I asked him to run the card as a credit. Two young girls walked in and he jumped right up to help them even offered to put in their battery for them. I put my own in, in the parking lot and after I had black grease all over my hands, the manager said "oh I should've offered you a pair of gloves." Not sure if that's a complementary service or if they charge for it, but I wasn't even offered. Called the corporate office and was told I would receive a call back and never did. This is exactly why I hate AutoZone. Such bad customer service. I rushed to this location after calling and then telling me they close at 9. I arrived here at 8:58 and he was locking the door. I told him all I need is an engine code pulled for a check engine light and that was it. All he did was wave hand at his neck to signal "no". It was before closing hours and I was pushed away. He removed the battery, cuz frankly I couldn't find it and I didn't want to get dirty. It was...are you ready for this...under my backseat! WTF. Now I know where to stash my maid if the INS comes a knockin' Goddamn brilliant Germans. I hauled it to Autozone and Craig was more than helpful. I think the glare from my Hello Kitty necklace caused him to blink a lot...hmmm...poor thing. I went to Autozone to buy a new battery based on the recommendation of friends I ran into at Costco while shopping for a battery. They suggested I go to Autozone because they will install the battery for you. Costco will not. Even though it was a crowded Saturday I was helped quickly and it was an easy purchase. For this reason I give them two stars not one. The rep switched out the battery, but could not get it properly strapped down to the car. Then he had the nerve to tell me that it wasn't necessary. I drove home and my partner and I were able to install it correctly. If I'd known I was going to have to install it myself I would pocketed the extra $40 and bought the battery at Costco. Please allow me start by saying I don't understand when managers have BAD customer service. So today at about 9:10 I walk into Autozone and ask the manager a question about a part as he's walking over to the computer the phone rings, so he picks it up and proceeds to have a 10 minute conversation with the person. I assume it was more then 10 minutes because I walked out after 10 minutes while he was still on the phone. Why wouldn't he ask the person to "please hold, I have a customer I'm helping at the moment"?! Nope instead he decided he would continue his conversation. Let's have a cheer for an honest salesman! Two days ago the battery died in my wife's car. Yesterday she bought a new battery at AutoZone. Today I go there to turn in the old one and get my $15 credit for the recyclable core, and they tell me that this battery was under warranty and so eligible for free replacement. I'm not sure if we bought the same battery for an old car and it had the same sku, or we actually bought this one and forgot about it, but the dude scanned the thing and found a match under wife's profile. Instead of refunding us $15 for the used battery core, we got back $155 for the full price of the Duralast. They have my loyalty from now on! read more

I will not be returning to this location. Although they gave me additional advice and swapped out my battery, (that's standard) I am a women and I was alone. The guy their hit on me, made inappropriate jokes, and was zero professional. I had a long day at work and I was already feeling crumby about yet another expense, wondering what's wrong with my car this time, and of course hoping this won't be another uncomfortable/I wanted experience alone at an auto body. This is a common issue with male dominate industries always. It is incredibly annoying and frustrating to go get Car Work taking care of and these guys hit on you making things incredibly awkward, unwelcome, and reducing their creditability. I constantly feel I need to drag a guy around with me in order to get a professional opinion or my car taken care of with no doubts so these guys don't see an opportunity to be a complete tool. Currently sitting on the sidewalk at Autozone calling my manager to tell her I can't come to work when John Tavarez said "I got it." He is referring to my incredibly corroded battery. Originally thought we couldn't get it out but with some elbow grease (his) it worked!! Incredibly friendly, professional, non pushy help at this Auto Zone!! They understand the sense of urgency some trips to Auto Zone have and one of the first questions John asked was "Do you have to go to work?" Marc was extremely personable and was more than willing to help. He replaced the battery for me, and remained cheerful despite the heat...what more could I ask for? I even learned WAY more about muscle cars and engines than anyone in my position (that is someone who's main requirement in a car is that it runs) should...but, hey...it's nice to see someone who is truly passionate about their life's work...:) Anyway, thanks so much...no complaints here.
