Well here it goes. I have a pick up truck I am working on and I needed to replace the rear axle…read more Anyone that has ever tackled this type of job knows that once you remove the old u-bolts you should always replace with new ones when reinstalling the axle.... or at least that is the safest way. Anyway I bought two sets of u-bolts (2 per set) from Advance Auto. They are "universal" and you have to cut them to your desired length once you get them installed. Well after hours of laboring in the sun and heat I get ready to torque these to factory specs when I hear a pop sound,,, like something just broke,,,, I backed the nut off the bolt only to find that the threads on the bolt were stripped off!!! How in the !@%* does this happen? SO I decide to take the other u-bolts off to look at the threads on them and the other is stripped also!!! I only used an open end wrench to tighten this down. How in the world can a company sell a product that has such a poor grade metal that is used on a part of your vehicle that is a critical part of your safety while operating a vehicle!!!!! I cannot fault Advance Auto since they did not make the product,, however I did advise the manager to pull this crappy product off the shelf and send it back to the mfg before someone is killed!!! I have emailed the company to see if I will get a reply,,, I am really upset since I have put so many hours into this job just to end up with stripped out bolts and many hours of lost time and labor!!!!! This product like many other products are made in China but my issue with this........Who is in charge of safety testing? Product testing? The USA, China, both?? Obviously nobody has tested them to see if they can actually be torqued to factory specs. Beware of this product!!

POT METAL GARBAGE! Purchased 2 sets of part 13-0112A and before the lock washers even seated, the…read morethreads stripped out on the U-bolts!! Clearly the metallurgy is inferior. Who is in charge to test the product? Grade 8 this is not. The nuts appear to be fine, just the threaded portion of the U-Bolt. I did not over-torque as I left them somewhat loose to allow the axle and spring assembly to be square once attached to the trailer chassis. Then I was going to torque them. Avoid this brand and try to find the URIAH axle parts. Those are made properly.

Don's garage mechanic "Ratboy" ( actual name tag) took me for $450.00 on a transmission leak…read more Within the first hour after driving my truck off the lot, the entire transmission fluid leaked out. When I returned for a warranty repair, Don's garage would not honor any work, said I paid cash and did not have a bill to prove the work. This garage was a recommendation from a church member and I did not feel the need to require any form of an agreement other than a handshake. The next repair shop informed me that no actual repair was made other that to put silicone over the original gasket; which had failed. Liars and thieves. Leave your vehicle for repair at your peril. I'm not alone with this thought.
