I had a dead battery! New cars suck! I hadn't been driving it for a few weeks, and though I've done that many times before, suddenly my battery gave out one day! I know they have a reader at AutoZone, so drove it over to have checked! My battery was fine, was at 60%+ but the way new cars are made, you can't let them sit. I miss old car engines... But also, they person working there let me know that there was probably another leak if I leave my phone charger/Apple play cord plugged in all the time, which I do. So, he suggested I remove it if I'm not driving consistently to help retain battery juice. All of that is pretty helpful to know! Avoid like the black plague! I'm a door dasher and I ordered online for curb side pick up to SAVE TIME! they even advertise you stay on the road will do the work. This is what I got . I order this morning at 9:00 AM. Got an email that they'll contact me when they're ready? OK. Three hours pass and nothing from AutoZone. six hours past nothing from AutoZone. So I go into the store at 3:00 PM . As usual, this place is dead because it sucks And everyone who works for AutoZone thinks there's some sort of high-grade expert. But as usual, no one greets me when I come in the door. No one says anything. I say hi it eventually I was greeted with be with you in a moment. (there's nobody in the store.) When she finally gets to me, I say I had an online order for curbside pick up. she says what's your name I gave it to her. She typed in the computer. Takes her 2 to 3 minutes. then she asked me what was it for? I go what was it for? Don't you have it? Yeah we do. I guess I'll go pick those for you.. she says. Like I said time is money so I'm thinking what the hell is going on? Alex exaggeration. I timed it on my phone 22 minutes later she came back. She says we don't have the part you were looking for. I said I ordered it online and pay for it already. Yeah well we don't have it. We have your air fresheners and that's it. I wanted some simple fuses. She says we have the same in-store item but it's twice the amount you paid online. I laughed because I think she's joking. She's not. I said yeah that's the part. I need well. This one is 16.95 she says. I say I paid 8.95 online and paid for it already. She laughs and says yeah prices are always less expensive online. Nice but ineffective clerk cost me an hour and a half of my time. Needed some new windshield wipers and refused to pay the dealership 4 times more than the purchase price of the part. Went to Autozone and a nice clerk pointed me to what were supposedly the right blades. Bought two and returned to work to install. The first one took me 1 minute to put on. The second one I struggled with for 45 minutes before admitting defeat and driving all the way back to the store the next day. The manager who I talked to was nice. Examined the blade. Looked it up on his computerized list and told me that I had the wrong model and that's why it wouldn't work. Gave me the right one and it took one minute to install. So . . . what to do, what to do? I had a really terrible experience here. Needed to exchange something out 5 minutes after I purchased it because it was the wrong size and they told me I couldn't without a receipt. Asked if they could look up the transaction since I was just in there 5 minutes before and they scoffed at me and rolled their eyes and begrudgingly did it. The person helping me was a young man that was on his personal cell phone as he was helping me for 20 minutes. I will never come back here or give them my business. This particular morning I went into this store to buy some parts n was greeted with an obnoxious employee an older lady she had said something out loud I ask her if she was talking to me or the other employee whom happen to be the manager on duty. The lady lashed out to me in a rude voice, yes I'm talking to you!! I said do you greet all your customers like that, she responded with well I'm overwhelmed okay, I'll get to you when I can get to you. The manager at the register never said a word, he didn't even ask if I needed help. Today my son's van broke down today near AutoZone located at 4585 E Colfax. I called and spoke to manager Alex. I informed Alex I was in Boise, Idaho and asked if I could buy a battery with my credit card over the phone, he stated he couldn't take the card over the phone but I could order and pay for it online. I logged on, purchased the battery via the website. I then called back and asked Alex if he received the Order Number8900518917 he said yes and that my son could come in and pick it up. When my son walked to the store and Alex refused to let him have the battery as he didn't have the credit card the battery was paid with, he then accused my son of stealing my card and made a fraudulent purchase. I called back and spoke to Alex and he then informed that his store policy is to not allow online purchases to be picked up from people that didn't order the product and then he hung up on me. I called back four more times and he continued to hang up on me when I asked for a refund. Now I am forced to contact my credit card company and ask them to process a chargeback. read more

Although they MIGHT have windshield washer fluid, they are woefully under-stocked on all other things for your auto. Additionally, they don't have any books out to look up your part number, which is pretty aggravating when shopping for windshield wipers, oil or air filters, etc. Of course, you could always try to ask an employee.... if you are willing to wait in line for hours and then deal with their surly/I'm-too-cool-to-work-here attitudes. The final straw was finding used batteries for sale on the shelf, leaking acid out the bottom of the box. Ridiculous. This review isn't based on a single visit. I used to live on Cherry Street so I came here frequently because of the close proximity. Everytime I did, I kicked myself because I'd have to leave empty-handed and go to another store. Trust me. The attendant rolled her eyes when we asked, we basically had to do it ourselves. Said it wasn't my battery and that they don't do alternator diagnostics. Wouldn't jump my car afterward. Going to an auto-parts store can be fun when you're looking for miscellaneous parts for any number of projects. Unfortunately I can not say my trip to this store was fun in any way. My Jeep is 8 years old and has been amazing to me. However, after 8 years I made the mistake of leaving the lights on one stormy night and my battery was sadly not able to recover, despite really excellent efforts to jump it. I made the quick trip to Auto-zone and much to my surprise, the staff was less than eager to help me. The gentleman at the counter was busy with another customer, but the other employees saw me and yet made no effort to assist. After standing in line patiently for much longer than necessary another employee finally came over to help. I was pretty sure about what I needed and it's a good thing, since my questions were answered with a smirk and an attitude of annoyance. At no point was I offered free installation or even asked if I needed assistance, which was one of the reasons I was coming here (just in case). In the end, I did not need their assistance or the attitude from the employees. I will be turning in my old battery for the 12$ credit, (which I read on the receipt and was not informed of when making the purchase) and then promptly shopping somewhere else. read more

This Autozone typically has what I need. The last purchase was a tire pressure gauge. The staff is accomodating and helpful, although usually I browse around a bit until I find what I want. I've also had success with buying a few tools here, like screwdirvers or sockets. I would recommend this store to anyone in need of basic car maintenance items or maybe that replacement part, but (as you know) you might want to call ahead first. read more

Provided year/make/model and they confirmed that they had the battery in stock and that they could replace it this evening if testing confirmed it was dead. Had a friend jump my car and parked it at Autozone. They tested my battery, confirmed it was dead, and told me they could not replace it. I reminded them that I just called 30 minutes ago, verified that the number I called was indeed their number... They all just sat around and looked at each other shrugging their shoulders. 20 minutes later, they agree to replace the battery. When you have a dead car battery on a Monday night, you don't need the runaround. The four stars is purely because the manager who did ultimately replace my battery was polite and willing to do the job. read more

Twice I've come here to get readings on my civic for engine light issues. I never felt any pressure to buy anything, never had to wait more than a few minutes. Last week I bought a new battery and they installed it for free. Martin O. was the sales staff person who helped me. He was quick, professional, knowledgeable of the store's stock, and answered every question I had, plus he provided me with more information I needed and was not aware of. As I was paying for my merchandise, thinking to myself, after the sun goes down, I could go to work on my van, talking myself into doing something I knew nothing of, Martin O. said he would change the bulb. But beyond the offer I needed, he said it so casually and yet competently. "Really?" I asked, surprised. Martin O. made the sale. He could have stopped there. I would have been happy that I did not have to shop around to look for what I needed. My car was parked in the sun on a hot enough day. Would he really go outside on a day like this to replace a car part? "Sure." He said. Wow indeed. Thank you Martin. Wow we wow wow. This place took great care of me on my first visit that I spent 2 hours there the following weekend in the cold 20 degrees tops learning how to play with my fuse box and change the brake light lamps.My first visit, one of the Managers, Patrick I think his name was, checked my "check engine" light for free and we found that the gas cap was loose and emissions were leaking. $6 later, engine check light was all good. I can't say enough good things about Terry, the store manager. I brought my car to them Sunday night with a totally dead battery. Was so dead that it wouldn't charge on their regular machine. He had to nurse it back to life over several hours and still wasn't ready when store closed. I left my car there and when the store opened at 7:30am, he was able to put my battery in for me and get me on my way to work. And they don't even charge you for this service. I have been to many autozones but this location was by far the best experience I have ever had. Usually when I walk in to other autozones they take forever to see if you need help. And typically don't answer the question I asked. This location however is completely differently. Terry went above and beyond with helping me. His customer service was phenomenal. He took the time to help me instal my new headlights, and he helped me with my battery connectors. I had been advised the wrong piece and he turned me to the right piece and installed that as well. He made sure my vehicles would be good to go for a while. He has a very extensive knowledge on auto parts.
