Watch out for made-up issues in diagnostic report. I brought my car in for a check engine light and as I expected, there was a part that was failing and needed replacement. They also let me know there were oil leaks in two other places, and if I didn't pay over $1700 to replace those parts, there would be severe engine damage. I ended up taking my car to the dealership and they did the work needed under warranty. At the end they told me they found no other issues with my car and, shockingly, no oil leaks!! I specifically asked about the two oil leaks Brakes Plus found and they told me that was absolutely not true. Incredibly disappointed Brakes Plus would do this as I have had positive experiences at other Brakes Plus locations. I would definitely get a second opinion on any work they recommend or avoid this shady business altogether. Edit: I contacted the email below as instructed TWICE, and received no response. WOW! What a difference in service at this location compared to the one down the street. Adam is the manager and apparently oversaw that evans store in the past. That location has gone so down hill and I had a terrible experience. It was filthy, took forever to do nothing and they over quoted me. I left and rescheduled to come here in hopes it would be a different experience and my was it. They gave me a new quote, citing that some of the labor hadn't been added on which was standard, and some of the quoted work doesn't need to be done. On top of that, the place is so clean! A lovely presentation in the lobby. I don't feel gross sitting in here. And the bathroom is clean too! The little things make a difference. I have been a customer for YEARS. I've left raving reviews before but That ends today. Bridgett used to be in charge and when she was.. this place was running with integrity and honesty towards their customers! Since she's left- it's gone down hill. Shame on you guys, for real! I've sent so many people your way. I will let them know of my story too! I brought my Jeep in for a heater issue. First of all, on the phone I could TELL that the man that was telling me what was wrong with my Jeep, was lying. Nervous voice , talking too much, hardly took a breath.. I don't have any over heating but they told me i need a water pump and to drain all of my coolant and refill of new coolant. Quoted me almost 1400$! lol I told them I can not hear the click over of the blender door and that i believe it's the actuator/blender door . That this was my issue prior (exact problem has happened before) and Now, I knew that they weren't being truthful based on that knowledge. So, I took my Jeep to two other mechanics and didn't tell any of them that I had already taken it anywhere. Those two separate mechanics both found the same issue which was the actuator and blender door. Go figure. brakes plus is a scam. I would like to speak to whoever is in charge. Also, when I got that call from brakes plus- they also told me that my Jeep was ready in 15 they were just finishing up the oil change.. when I got there 20 minutes later almost closing time- they acted super weird and then two different people asked me if I needed help and I told them I was there for my Jeep? Then a third guy came out and said sorry, they still have to do the oil change like I was an idiot. So what were you doing? I would not recommend this place , anymore. It's a shame because I used to have full faith in this place but now I just want everyone to see this review and PLEASE beware! Good luck if you do go lol cuz they're probably not being truthful. Had I taken my Jeep to them for the heater to be fixed, they would have made 1k more than it took to fix at the mechanic I just got to fix it. And they would have been "fixing" an issue that wasn't causing the heat loss. I went in for a brake change. The receptionist was incredibly kind. He listened to my concerns, educated me on the anatomy of the brake system, what parts I could need, what they do, etc. he stated that he didn't want me to not know what they were talking about / replacing. Let me just say THAT is great staff!! Knowledge is power. I felt very comfortable leaving my car with this shop. gRAPED...... no other words to describe... my wife's car needed front brakes so I went here, close to home and, well, brakes are in it's name.... couldn't have made a poorer decision... context- to buy the top of the line brembo brakes and rotors for ALL 4 wheels on a wrx online you'll pay LESS than 300 for the parts. I brought in a 2020 corolla, their "premium" brake service for front or rear is 229, I got the front serviced, with an oil change, upon their inspection it was determined that the front rotors needed to be replaced...ok.. that should be an additional *maybe* 100....no,sir... they soaked me for 125 EACH.... at the end of the day I paid almost 700 dollars for a simple brake job that shouldn't have been more than 400, period. Brakes are one of the easiest DIY jobs you can do, unfortunately I live in an apartment and can't do it inside and was at the mercy of these hacks..... to have the privilege of a shop to do this job i paid a premium of 3-400 dollars. My advice, go somewhere else, find out the cost of every service before you let them put it on the rack, and learn how much a reputable shop should reasonable charge for this service... after all, you wouldn't pay jiffy lube 250 for an oil change would you? My car was overheating. So I brought it here because they had changed the radiator, hose etc a few months ago. They kept the car for two days knowing I drive for a living. Handed it back to me saying it was just a loose cap and they had tightened it and it was all good now. I hadn't driven for five minutes before it started overheating again. Took it to the Jiffy Lube down the street. They took a couple of hours to diagnose the problem and to fix it, which was that the relays of the cooling fan needed replacing. read more

I'm really happy with the service I got here. Booked online for an 8am appointment about a week out. They called to confirm my appointment the day before. They opened right at 8 and the manager was very friendly. They got started on my car right away - I was scheduled for a break check, oil change, and tire rotation. They called me to say they completed the services about 40 minutes in, and Kolton walked me through their additional recommendations. Kolton was so nice, he explained everything throughly and even gave me a discount on the labor for the unexpected service they needed to perform on my spark plugs. I asked them to check on some other things for me - my dealership noted some rust I wanted a second opinion on - and they were happy to take a look. I would absolutely come here again for service! Be very careful with their Standard vs. Premium options and explicitly ask them to review your quote with you before authorizing. Friendly people at the register is not equal to quality service! I had to have my AC compressor replaced 3x only to learn that wasn't the issue. The "mechanics" are inexperienced and work hard to do as little as possible. I personally sat in the waiting room and watched many of them run to King Soopers for donut breaks at 8 am when the shop opened, No one even started working on cars until 8:45. And, there were lies around this and many other subjects. As a woman, I felt disrespected and disregarded and lied too. I reported all of this to management in great detail and asked for an apology. This place is a complete JOKE! If you make an appointment, do not expect them to look at your car in a timely manner - expect to wait ALL day or days. We dropped my Jeep off for the break pads and rotors to be replaced. My appointment was at noon, but I decided to drop it off an hour early. When I dropped it off they told me someone would call me with an estimate within an hour and a half. 1 o'clock rolled around and no one had called, but I figured they were backed up so I'd give it another hour. When I called at 2pm they informed me that no one had even looked at my car yet. I didn't hear back with an estimate until 4pm, at which time I asked them to please move forward with the repairs. They told me my car would be ready in an hour and half. I got there at 5:30 and they were still working on my car and told me it would be another 15-20 minutes - totally fine. I sat there for another hour waiting for my car and finally got to leave with it at 6:45. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I took my car back a few weeks later for a routine oil change. Same issue, I dropped it off at my appointment time, but it took them ALL day to get to it. This week my husbands car needed to be looked at due to a starter issue. We figured the first two times were anomalies and decided to go back, as it's walking distance from our apartment and a super convenient location. My husband dropped his car off on Thursday 8/17 at 1pm for his appointment and they just looked at it today, Saturday 8/19. This was just to get the estimate, no work of any kind was done to my husbands car. Needless to say we will NEVER return again and will take our business where it's prioritized. read more

My elderly female friend took her car here to find out why she had a check engine light on her 208 Toyota Solara. They performed $2800 dollars of unnecessary work including replacing the steering rack and pinon when the car used to steer just fine and showed no visible signs of leaks. Tried to work something out with the manager unsuccessfully so she now is talking to a lawyer and plans to take this to court. The check engine light is still on as that issue wasn't even addressed. The car drives considerably worse now and makes noise when you turn the wheel which didn't happen before. They also supposedly did an alignment on her car but it pulls to the left a lot now when it used to drive straight just fine. I would highly recommend staying away from this place unless you want to pay for a bunch of work your car doesn't need. Very unprofessional mechanic shop be warned. read more

My Acura RL 2004 (175k miles) was pulling left, the hood required a box to hold it up, the headlights were amber yellow, the passenger side would not go back so 6 foot passenger would ride with his knees around his ears. The car needed to be ready for a ski trip to Utah next week. Gordon /Adam had the car for 3 days. Rack and pinion steering leaking steering fluid, replaced and realigned. High intensity headlights are $1500 each and required special order. Suggestion made to polish covers. Alex polished to clear glass condition. Two hood struts replaced. Passenger seat cleaned out rails, so seat retracts 80%. Passenger can sit comfortably not folded. Seat motors no longer available. I'm a young car nerd so I do what work on my car I can. But if I don't have tools or knowledge I'll go to a shop. I went in to get my brakes replaced and they told me I needed suspension work. They did the job on the brakes. But when I got my car back, the shifter boot and all components were in the passenger seat (car is auto). The engine light was on, which it was not prior to my visit. I walked back into the shop to question the gentleman working (Adam) he was in the back (window walls allow costumers to see vehicles worked on) I heard him say, "why do I have to deal with this kids shit," before opening the door to come talk to me. I explained my concerns and he asked for my keys and walked away before I finished asking about it. When he returned he told me the shifter button is sticky so they had to take it apart to get the car in gear. I've had issues with it in the past but a little force has gotten the button to click in. That doesn't explain why they would return my car with components not attached? I had so many questions in regards to this because again I came in for brakes. In regards to the engine light, Adam said the car had gotten cold overnight so they had to jump start it in the morning. He ran a diagnostic and said, "there were some electrical failures, So the HVAC system was a little off and it is the cause to the little clicking in the vent, just needed a computer reset..." First of all, my car sits outside all winter and it's currently the end of summer and the temperature last night never dropped below 53 degrees. Secondly, why would there be electrical failures? Third, how is the HVAC an issue now? There was not any clicking noise before!! Finally do they not check anything before calling a customer to pick up their vehicle? I spent $1000 for breaks just to be upset about two other things that were never an issue prior. This isn't the first time either. In the past, I took my old Jeep to Brakes Plus on Evans and Colorado. I went in to get my power steering pump replaced and when I received my car from the shop a spark plug was not attached, two completely unrelated issues. Next time comes around, I want to give Brakes Plus another shot to get my fuel pump replaced. I pick up my car and the next day I fill up in gas and the gas tank dropped off the car spilling all over the gas station. I got it towed back and of course, it was Adam to assist me. He is always short and gives off an attitude with me because needless to say, I'm just a young guy. But at least he can give me excuses to the crews ignorance. The lack of integrity at this establishment and from the GENERAL MANAGER, Adam, is despicable. They claimed that the noise, which wasnt there before dropping the car of at brakes plus isnt the brakes but the rear diff.!?!?!?makes no sense because it only squeaks when braking and only started AFTER they "serviced" the vehicle. I had a moment of sheer panic today when I car with oil. This can be absolutely disastrous to an engine. I called a couple of other places near where I was driving, which was clear across town from where I live by 20 miles. Was completely lost and had no idea at the time what I had done. All I knew is my car was jerking, not accelerating, and a plume of white smoke was coming out the back. Three different places I called gave me the old "you can bringit in but we won't be able to get to it". And then I called Brakes Plus and got Sam on the phone. He listened to what was wrong and immediately asked me if it was possible I had overfilled the engine with oil. I had JUST put some in after tellng me I only had 20% oil in my car. I had forgotten to reset the gauge when my oil was topped off a couple of weeks prior, so the gauge read lower than what was actually in there. When I got to the station, the mechanic Zack told Sam to go ahead and check me out and bring me in a bay to get me look.in case I had blown a seal or the gasket. Zach emptied all of the oil out of my car, inspected it, refilled it with fresh oil, and gave me my keys back free of charge. Sam said they were just glad to help me, because I'm an Uber driver and I have an important job! This kind of service just doesn't exist in the world anymore. I was absolutely beside myself that they would help me this way. Was in a tight spot because my purse had been lost for the week before and I had no real forms of payment for anything other than a little bit of gas money I had in my pocket. Many years ago, the Brakes Plus on Leetsdale sent me on my way after quoting a repair on my car, however, when I was almost back home, steam began coming out from under the hood. I pulled over, popped the hood and found that they didn't cap the radiator. I found the cap sitting nearby on engine. I'm leaving this review based on the service I received today. I came back for a recommended service to replace the rear brake pads on my Lexus. I asked for them to do a tire rotation and to honor the 3,000 mile 3-Month warranty on my cars alignment. I was over for a month but the manager made an exception. As I paid for my service and left, I noticed one thing about my car, which was part of a recent hit and run accident. The rear flap which was unattached was now reattached. About one week earlier, I was on the phone with Geico who quoted me the repair on the damage would be $600. Brakes Plus took care of the small fix and the man responsible is Kent, the General Manager I'm assuming. They also didn't announce the problem being fixed, I only noticed it.
