I have always received the best customer Service at this Palm Desert Auto Zone location. Saturday Oct 19, 2019 was no exception ! I went into get a cabin filter for my CRV. After I paid for it, I went about trying to change it out myself... a few minutes later, German came out to parking lot, must have noticed I wasn't doing so well. He came over and offered to help me out. I was so thankful bc I gotten the glove compartment open but could not see the old cabin filter. It took German 30 seconds to remove it and slipped in the new one. And did it ever need to be changed!! IT WAS EXTREMELY CLOGGED! Don't think k Honda ever changed it out before selling it to me used vehicle! German then asked me about the air filter... wasn't sure what that was, he immediately offered to help. I opened the hood, he found it and showed me what it was... it was black! He explained that this air filter should have been changed out at the time of oil changes. (This Tells me about the quality of the places I went for oil change!) I appreciate that German educated me. I did buy the new air filter and German changed it out for me. I want Auto Zone management at this location to know what an exceptional employee they have in German. I very much appreciate German going above and beyond and because he did, he got another sale! I intend to bring my mom and daughter in to get their cabin and air filters looked at and replaced if needed! I will be back for any future needs. This was AWESOME ABOVE AND BEYOND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went to Auto Zone in Palm Desert on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at 5:30 pm. I was in desperate need of windshield wipers as it rained hard this evening. A nice young man went out of his way to try and find wipers for my 2007 Mercedes. He didn't have wipers for me but he went out of his way to spray and clean my windshield with a water repellant so I could get back to Indio where I live. His help was a blessing because I could not see a thing out of my windshield. Cheryl just helped us with our car battery and she was phenomenal. We just wanted to charge the battery and she offered to just test if it was still good. I hope a manager reads my review and if so please know that I am giving you four stars only because Sheryl made my experience so much better! I want to leave you one star because your worker Dani who I asked for a brake bolt for my Honda Accord and I specifically said that directed me to look for it in the aisles even after I asked him to help me find it. Come to find out they aren't even kept there and he is just another lazy worker. Also Dani did not have his mask on since I walked inside the store the entire time his mask is on his chin and both his mouth and nose were out and he was also holding the store phone with his mouth directly on it putting every other worker at the store at risk who are gonna use the phone after him. Once again thank you to Sheryl for being so helpful and finding the bolt I needed in the system and advising me on a few other things. After going from pillar-to-post trying to find an honest mechanic to help with a huge car repair I called Autozone located (below) and spoke to Cheryl: AutoZone Auto Parts Highway 111 73605 Hwy 111 Palm Desert, CA 92260 (760) 340-6331 I don't know about you, but I've become so accustomed to the listless, unfocused replies I usually get on the phone from salespeople that I almost fainted when this helpful young lady at AutoZone got on the phone. Not only did she research and find the best and least expensive parts I needed for my car repair, she took her lunch time to find an honest mechanic to do the work!!! Anyone, even those gentlemen that think they know everything about their car, can benefit from knowing the actual retail on a part before seeing a mechanic who may be inclined to, shall we say, hike their part prices up. Good service like this just has to be recognized~ Cheryl, along with Mike, and their other associates, willingly take whatever added steps are necessary to make their customers happy. It is my pleasure to write this review on the behalf of Mike, the Manager of Auto Zone. My oil light came on. I wasn't due for an oil change for another 1,000 miles. I was a bit frantic, being a single woman. This is a Saturday, most auto services are closed. I went into the store and was greeting with welcoming smile by Mike. I explained to him my dilemma. Mike checked to see if the oil I needed was on the shelf. The shelf was empty. Mike went to the back and found the store brand oil. Mike went the extra mile and put the oil in the car for me. My headlights went out on my car this evening and I was stressed and scared because I didn't know where to go or how to change them. I figured I would go to autozone to buy the bulbs and somehow have to figure out how to do it myself. I walked in and asked for the lights, Hector helped me and gave me two option for my vehicle, I had no clue which they were. Hector asked if my car was outside so he could take a look and he lead me out side and checked my vehicle, he asked a few questions and realized that I was going to try to do it myself and decided to step in and do it for me as he realized I was worried and had never done it myself. I can't thank him enough for turning a stressful situation into such a (dare I say) great experience. Customer service was beyond what I expected and I am so happy I came here for this issue. The palm desert store is my go to, very clean, very organized but the service is always over the top!

The guys here are sexist. I walked in with my sister in law to get a check engine light read with a scanner and the first scanner they gave me didn't work so I went inside and *michael* said "honey are you sure it's the check engine light and not the tire pressure with a circle and exclamation or oil?" And I said I know what a CEL looks like and he laughed at me and said "okaaay" so one of the other guys came with me with a different scanner and told me to plug it in and I did it the exact same way and this scanner actually read the codes. When we went back inside, that guy Michael asked "did it read the codes?" And the guy that had come with me said yes and *Michael* looked at us and laughed. Very disappointed with the men that work there. I am a car enthusiast and enjoy working on my own car and as a female to walk into a store with men only to be laughed at is very disappointing. Driving in the rain to the emergency vet, my car shuttered as I pressed on the gas when the red light turned green. Last thing I needed... Google suggested it could be low transmission fluid. As my dog was being treated, I went to the nearby Auto Zone for transmission fluid. While they were happy to sell it to me, the lady behind the counter suggested that her associate check my levels first. He did and I did not need fluid: the level was fine. On the way home I drove through the same intersection and saw irregularities on the roadway at that stoplight meaning: it wasn't my transmission that shuttered, it was my tires on the wet and bumpy roadway. I stopped in to have my battery checked out because my car wasn't consistently starting. Susan was kind enough to check out my car battery and told me it was a good battery, 100%. Hector further inspected the battery and terminals. He found the problem to be loose terminals and went the extra step in replacing the terminal for me. The boys here helped me out SOOOO much today and went the extra mile. The helped me remove a broken bolt from an alternator with tools I never would have had and I have rebuilt many vehicles. They asked for NOTHING in return. I was so humbled by their service and concern for my issue. Every time I stop by, I am treated with kindness & courtesy. I have had multiple questions regarding basic/intermediate maintenance of my vehicle & all I can say is 'they know alot more than I do & they are willing to offer assistance'. From easy going chitchat to performance specs, I have been properly navigated toward the right selection (of products) & that is why (in my eyes) this AutoZone gets 5* (5 stars). Jesus, Hector, & Rhonda are very kind & there was another man who even threw away my trash for me 'basura', & He took the trash away with a smile. Definitely above average service & I do admire how the employees are willing to step out & help the customers with their needs but only if they can not find the solution in their built in computers.
