Review for the 840 W. Mission, Escondido O'Reilly's location: The employees are the BEST! - manager Daniel in particular...Fast, knowledgeable, they know where to find what I'm looking for Instantly. ONE OF A KIND FREE SERVICES that this location always has time to provide for me: OBD scope of my frequent "check engine light" warnings, that I phone-photo for research, battery status check and charging, (they remove battery, and you wait for the charge,) install of hoses and other parts I purchase there. Not all 0'Reilly's do this, NAPA doesn't, and Auto Zone's most recent scope diagnosis was wrong. As for the report of filth, trash, and vagrants loitering in this parking lot, I've yet to encounter any of that, and as a woman, I'm hyper-vigilant! I needed break lightbulbs for my car and was able to get them here for a total of $17 (4 bulbs). The location feels unsafe; tons of homeless folks outside and lots of trash floating around from what they leave behind. When I got the bulbs, I also had to find them in the aisle myself. Every time I go to the other O'Reilly in Escondido (closer to Valley Center), the employees get the parts for me or walk me to the area and show me the different options. This place didn't do that. It can can be confusing to many people to find parts without help. That's something this place could improve on. I do appreciate that this place is open until 10pm, but I'm not sure if i would come at night because of how many people linger in the parking lot and on the side of the building. read more

Great auto-parts store with a great location close to Lowes. I came here for some red grease. They have it on the shelf close to the soap, so this was pretty good placement... I ended up having some foresight on how messy the job I am about to take on, and bought soap and a fingernail brush too. This location is further from my house and my normal auto-parts store, but this store seems to always be stocked with the items I need. 5 stars for a well stocked and clean store. read more

Daniel & Miguel at the Mission Ave. Escondido O'Reilly's saved me $223 in parts alone, not to mention what the dealer would have charged me to install the complete vaccuum system they said I needed. Miguel removed the cracked vaccuum hose that an earlier free "check engine light" scope had turned up. He matched it with a piece of hose he had in the back, cut it to fit, installed it, and gave me back the cracked hose plus the leftover piece of the new hose, and didn't charge me a dime! It took all of 5 minutes! The light went out, and I drove 100 miles the next day. 3 days later, all is still well. Thanks guys. You restored my faith in humanity! read more

This place is OK, I wouldn't say it's BAD but it's not GREAT either. Often times it takes far too long to get through the lines, but this is mostly because people have differing requests. Some of these requests take too much time and some are pretty quick. The thing that bugs me the most is that this place doesn't have a great selection of car care products. They have A LOT of car care products, but it's pretty low end stuff and I feel that carrying more Chemical Guys products would be smart. They also don't have simple things like wet/dry vacs for cars like Auto Zone carries. If they do have these for sale, I haven't seen them the time I have been there or this store in particular. The staff is pretty nice and do try and help if you're patient with the lines. All in all, if you're in a pinch, get these guys a shot. read more

Went in today, 9.18.24 to get license plate screws. The original screws were rusted so badly that I and several others could not remove them. Cody was so helpful not only was he able to remove the original screws but he also installed the new screws and license plate shield and he suggested. to put a sealant on the new screws to prevent future rusting. Secondly, when I buy brake pads, and one of the pads spring is broken, the correct response isn't, "you could try and get another new one at another store. What the actual heck?!... I was getting ready to go on a business trip to Northern California. I had a broken toe. My windshield wipers were down to the metal. I went into O'Reilly. I picked out the Bosch super cool windshield wipers and the gal in there put them on for me. I don't have her name readily available to my fingertips right now but just to say this place is awesome. I would never go anywhere else for auto parts. My neighbor just came by to tell me that she stopped at O'Reilly's. She bought a battery and they put the battery in for her and tested the rest of starter and other motor items. This brings back American values in business. She is a senior and she couldn't have coordinated all that and gotten to her part-time job. So thank you to the O'Riley team for providing the kind of customer service I wish all businesses did. read more

My daughter called in advance got a quote for $125.00 and asked them to hold the alternator. Arrive to pick it up and no one owns up to speaking to her the alternator is not on hold and the price has doubled. First they say she didn't call the right store. I call her on speaker phone ask her to read the number she called and the guy says yes that's our number. He goes back to the computer and says I can see from the system that they looked up the same part but there's no way they quoted that price. Convenient that the part wasn't on hold and they wouldn't honor the quoted price. Since I have the ability to give my money to whomever I want I told them for even money I am going to give my money to someone more honest. read more

Luck has never been in my favor in this area of Escondido as I've had to use Kragen ( now O'Reily Auto Parts) several times in dire need. In General, O'Reily Auto Parts is a good auto parts chain.Their staff is friendly and willing to help especially with minor stuff. HOWEVER Never let this location test your dead battery as they will always come back as "damaged core" even if the battery was just depleted and needed a full charge. They want you to buy a new battery even when you don't really need it. That happened twice to me here and the second time I had a mechanic check my car's battery. It turned out my car had a bad alternator and the battery just needed to be charged. No replacement needed. This O'Reily almost scammed me again... To add insult to injury I did buy a new batter from O'Reily at this location previously. When it died after 2 years and their machine stated it was a dead core I said okay, this should still be under warranty seeing I bought it here less than two years ago. Hmm, they search their computer and couldn't find my name, number, or any record of my purchase. No receipt...tough luck! Either my data was entered incorrectly, or the guy at the cashier just couldn't type worth a shit. In either case I was SOL.. Can't trust this location for battery testing and warranties. Go to the other O'Reily in Escondido ( 910 E Valley Pkwy). Better location, always great service. read more
