When we picked up the car, we were told that the filter was checked and that it was "fine." I had my doubts so I pulled the filter when I got home and it was black. Obviously it wasn't checked and it wasn't "fine." Called the shop to discuss what happened. They admitted they hadn't actually checked the filter and I was told I'd hear from the manager. BAIT & SWITCH! DO NOT GO HERE! I called for an estimate on a oil change, giving the specific year, make, and model (there is only 1 engine type), and the mechanic looked it up and said it would be ~$75 all in (labor, recycling, etc). I verified that it would need synthetic oil. Less than 10 mins later, I was there and spoke to the same mechanic who called me by name. After the oil change, the final invoice was $95 all in and the mechanic said it was because it needed "full" synthetic. Since he had looked it up, and that there is only 1 engine type for the year, make, and model, it is strange that the oil type would change, and if so, why didn't he tell me when I arrived? Had I known, I would have gone somewhere else. ADDITIONALLY, the mechanic recommended services at 15K miles (only in another 3,873 miles!!!) , that the car with only ~11K miles on it, needed 1) an alignment check (didn't say based on what), 2) brake fluid change, 3) differential service with fluid change, 4) clutch fluid change, for a total of $334. I expressed doubt, and he turned the screen towards me and it appeared it was not from the make of vehicle company, but their own software. Even though I don't know much about cars, this sounded crazy to me for a low-mileage ~3 year old car. Indeed, I later checked the maintenance manual and it says that the next recommended is at 18K miles (not 15K), and is only an oil change+tire rotation. The manufacturer's recommendations for what Firestone recommended are: 1) alignment check - no recommendations, from my reading you do not need to have your alignment checked unless your car is pulling from straight, or was in a front-end accident, 2) brake fluid change at 30K miles, 3) differential fluid change at 60K miles, 4) clutch - inspection only at 12K, 24K miles. So as you can see, this Firestone branch is clearly is trying to get less knowledgeable customers (I am a woman who doesn't know much about cars) to get unnecessary maintenance. read more

If I can give it zero stars I would! Took my car for AC repair never had an issue on my car until I took it there! Weeks later my car was having electrical issues. The put a bad solenoid! They steal parts from your car and swop them for old ones. They tied doing that with our new battery and I caught them red-handed two weeks before hand I have purchased a new battery and swapped it off for a old one. My gut feeling told me to pop the hood and they explanation was they removed to test the battery but didn't put the new one back do not take your car there beware. Zero stars !!!! Eric was incredibly helpful on the phone and even nicer and more helpful when we got to the shop. I got an incredible value (it was much less than I was expecting it to be,) and it seems like the team here cares to go the extra mile. Mark is a really accommodating guy who made me feel very welcome. He also has a breadth of knowledge that makes me feel comfortable leaving the car in his hands. Even though he's the manager, when I came back to pick the car up, I saw him in the service center, working on cars himself! Mark offered me a full refund but it was followed by a "we'll just never do business again" ....What? I tried to explain to him IN A CALM MANNER that I had done nothing wrong, that THEY ARE REFUNDING ME based on the fact that they put me n my family in jeopardy by not doing the work that was on the WORK ORDER THEY E M TO ME. Not having proper tire pressure, not having a working spare and a healthy battery is a risk I was not willing to take. I had to ask them 3 times if they checked the tire pressure. THEY NEVER DID. That was only 1 of 4 or 5 issues they failed to address. I told Mark that THE RIGHT THING TO DO is make good on the refund (they did) but MORE IMPORTANTLY KEEPING A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP W A RETURNING LOCAL CUSTOMER. A few days ago I dropped my car off for an oil change near my work. They said it would done by 5:00. I got there at about 5:10 and they said they hadn't even started on it yet. I told them I had to leave, pick 2 kids up from 2 different locations and couldn't wait. The guy behind the counter told me he was sorry and they were understaffed that day and offered to let me use his own personal vehicle to go pick up my kids then come back. I explained to him why that wouldn't work, and took my vehicle and left, still making another appointment to have the oil change done 2 days later. As planned I dropped my vehicle off at 8AM then walked to work. When I picked it up that evening something unexpected happened. I was presented with an invoice for a premium oil change, a filter change, and a top off of all my fluids ranging over $200. But my bill was zero. I was confused, then was told all services were on the house due to my inconvenience. I had budgeted for this service on my car and this extension of kindness and customer service made a big difference for me, so much that I instantly started to cry. I told the cashier, Manny I was a single mom with 2 kids and I really appreciated what they had done for me, especially not expecting it. I made it there 7 minutes after calling and had to wait 10 minutes for someone to help me. I was told roughly an hour and after an hour and a half my 4runner hadn't been moved. On September 9th of 2022 i purchased 4 Bridgestone Tires from Store #793861 from Manny Conde the Sales Manager and spent 2-full hours and a total of $1,074.84 on a Bridgestone Tire Package. The wait was long and it was one of the slowest experiences i've ever had. As I walked in the door Manny was on the phone for a solid 5-minutes with me standing in front of him and he did not acknowledge me or say "I'll be right with you". After close to 2-hours I left, and the deal was that i could come back when i needed my next oil change and Manny said it was FREE along with my 10,000 mile tire rotation and wheel balance. **Fast Forward to May 23, 2023- I scheduled my free oil change and tire rotation in the morning and now that i am in the shop they are not honoring my FREE oil change and after looking at the purchase invoice, I paid an extra $67.96 for Lifetime wheel balances. So basically the free oil change was not honored and the free tire rotation and balancing cost was $67.96- already paid and priced into the original package. What is really disappointing is the fact that they would not honor what they said (it was not added to the Final Invoice in writing) and they made me feel like it was my fault for not holding on to the managers (Manny's) business card. The Service Advisor made a few calls to Manny and Eric Waller, the other service manager and they would not honor the oil change. As a new customer I will more than likely never come back as well as never recommend any of my friends, neighbors, family and literally thousands of social media contacts to this place. I made an appointment for exhaust system that was rattling. They said it was a bracket they needed to replaced which they did and I paid for it and said I was all set. After leaving the noise was even louder than before, so I returned. They said the mechanic had noticed there was something inside the exhaust that he couldn't fix. I purchased the tires at Discount Tire in Vista, and had purchased the certificates to cover the tires in case something like this happened. Unfortunately, Discount Tire is not open on Sundays. I was desperate because I had to go somewhere. Fortunately my brother was visiting, so he got on the internet and saw that Firestone was open and right up the street! What a joke this location is. Made an appointment to get an oil change on my fleet vehicle (Commute with Enterprise) at 2 pm on Saturday. I sat in the lobby as I didn't have a way to get home. 3:45 rolls around and I've seen several customers come in after me and leave already. I ask an employee what's going on with my car and he tells me, "Yeah, it hasn't even gone on the lift yet." So I've been sitting there for nearly 2 hours and literally nothing has been done. And nobody even thought to let me know what's (not) going on. Finally, the manager comes and apologizes for the long wait, tells me he yelled at the staff, and offers a free oil change which I accepted. He told me sorry for the long wait, we'll pull your car around and you can go on with your day. Then I proceed to wait another 20 minutes for the car to show up. I ended up giving the free oil change voucher back because I would never take another vehicle there. Also, I'm no prude but maybe playing movies with TONS of F-bombs is not the best choice of entertainment in a lobby with children. I suggest putting on a sports channel. One last thing and I'll stop my rant: It would be SO SO nice if I could go somewhere and not have to listen to people talk politics. I really don't care if you hate Biden or hate Trump, I really don't.
