I can't say enough about this place! Carlos fixed a problem that has been plaguing me for a few months. I have a 11 year old Kia SUV that I wanted to put LED headlights in. A local auto parts store was happy to recommend and install a set of low beam headlights while neglecting to mention that the bulbs were not secured to the assembly due to the LED bulb design. As a result, the bulbs were less than useless since they were bouncing around the assembly. I started troubleshooting and pulled out the bulb only to see a metal ring fall down to a pan at bottom of engine. After attempting to recover the ring (thinking it was needed to secure the bulb) for over an hour, I drove down to auto parts store who told me I had had to replace the assembly. Very unhelpful. I then drove to Moonlight Motors (Encinitas) for help. They recovered the ring and explained what the problem was. They recommended DDM Tuning to get the issue resolved. Carlos at DDM was kind enough to install the right components so the bulbs are secure and I have crisp, clear light! Have ordered high beam bulbs from them which should arrive soon. You should find someplace else to spend your money. I was a customer of the San Diego and Chula Vista Store for over 6 years with no issues with Customer Service and Product. I wanted to buy an another bulb, but the local stores said I have to buy it online. I turned to Amazon and bought it from the online DDM Store. It came defective and requested a replacement. That's when it turned bad. I started dealing with Sarah the Manager. Over 30 emails later trying to make me jump through hoop. Her wanting me to give her my Credit Card info over the phone. She wanted me to destroy the LED's before sending me a refund. I told her, if I did that I would not have any turn signals. I asked that she send alternative replacements. She refused until I posted a great review. I wasn't going to be strong-armed into this. And after giving her every opportunity to solve the issue. Warranty is a complete SCAM!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They sell cheap Chinese ballasts which inevitably break, then they do everything possible to avoid actually honoring their own warranty. The best you get is them offering a "warranty upgrade" to the next kit for $35. Look on AliExpress people, that upgrade is STILL making them money! These ballasts are $5 for the slim and $15 for the "ultra Canbus" that they want $35 for a warranty upgrade. What a bunch of SCAMMERS. I've been driving with ONE HEADLIGHT for 2 weeks now because of their slow responses, trying to get me to purchase an upgrade, and wanting me to pay for the warranty replacement which should be freeeeeeeeeee. These guys obviously don't give a ***** about their customers. I could have gotten a ticket, or worse been in an accident for lack of light during night driving. Avoid these guys at all costs. Great business and service! I purchased a set of bulb and ballasts from them back in 2008, which included a lifetime guarantee on the kits. Sadly, after 13 years of use, one of my HID bulbs went out. I reached out to DDM support for this warrantied bulb and they were very generous with their time. After a bunch of emails from me with a myriad of questions on how have parts changed over years, what works with my very old kit, and what options I have, they responded to each of my inquiries quickly and productively. Long story short, they were able to provide me with the updated part that will work with my existing kit, and provided 5 different options to me on what I wanted to do. Very accommodating, especially given how old my stuff is! Once I received my replacement part, I still had a bunch of questions regarding installation, and they dealt with me over email, on the phone, and even an Instagram video call (Thanks Regan!) to get my lights back in order. It really isn't that complicated, but I haven't messed with my lights in 13 years, so excuse my rust! Sometimes, the measure of a business isn't based on their initial interactions, but more on how they follow up and take care of you, years down the line. DO NOT BUY FROM DDM TUNING! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. They rave about their warranty and all but when it comes down to it.. they stand strong at telling you it's your car's fault. Their products are not built well to be compatible with a lot of cars. Problems: - HID Kit, flickers here and there making it unsafe on the road. DDM: Your car is sensitive to modifications, maybe try buying the relay harness and then if that doesn't work try buying a smaller ballast and maybe even new bulbs. (Whole lot of upselling and zero solution) - Foglight LED turns on and off whenever it wants while it's supposed to be on. DDM: Your car isn't supplying enough power to the bulb so it's just turning off. (Again no solution) - DRL LED same problem as foglight except sometimes they won't turn on. DDM: Yeah same thing. Your car is just not supplying power to it. Asked what their return policy is, and the guy said 1 week. Wow. Even other crap brands like these offer a better return policy than 1 week. I told one guy the problem before coming in and he said "yeah just bring the ballast in and we'll replace it.", of course I bring it in and the guy says "they work fine. it's probably your car." and then tries out my other LEDs and says the same thing. Basically tells me 3 cars have electrical issues. Wow you must be a master mechanic sir! SIKE. UPDATE: I put the DDM LEDs back in, they shut off and on as I claimed. Then I bought LEDs from another brand on Amazon and the Amazon LEDs have been able to stay on 100% of the time when I turn them on, and are actually brighter output than DDM. Not hating and being biased, but the proof is there and there's no denying it. Do I recommend DDM? NOPE. Buy from Amazon or somewhere, you get a better return policy and hell maybe even a better warranty. Thanks for wasting my time and money DDM Tuning. read more

DDM tuning I would say is quality with cutting out the middleman providing to you the consumer top of the line lighting for your vehicle. I have a 2007 Suzuki XL7 that has been retrofitted throughout the entire vehicle with HID lights. Now due to the fact that I did not purchase the kit myself although the prior owner did, I do not receive the lifetime warranty. Now keep in mind the warranty is only a one year warranty upon purchasing the lightbulbs. That is where customer service comes in and DDM tuning lives up to that standard. Just bought a new 2018 F150 and the only thing I was not happy with was the OE headlights. I live in a rural town in Texas so I purchased Lows, Highs, and fogs. I spoke with Carlos at the Vista, CA location and he was extremely helpful. I also receive the decoders for the highs and lows. He gave me a number of tips and was very thorough. Install was straight forward and I recommend YouTube...it's your friend. Total time was about 1.5 hours. Could it all in less than an hour now. The lights are amazing. Clean white light with great dispersion. I do recommend marking your OE height on a wall and then adjusting these accordingly to be polite to other drivers. My HID bulbs have now been exchanged 3 times. At first exchange, asked the guy at the front desk why they could possibly keep not working on my car/the bulbs blowing and he was pretty much clueless. Today was the 3rd exchange. Boyfriend went in to return them completely as they keep not working and it's obviously extremely safe for me to be driving around with no headlights. They refused to return them as they have a "lifetime warranty" (aka they are going to blow every week and we aren't going to help you but make you keep coming back to our shop). He asked to speak to a manager, one of which audibly refused to speak to him and the second came out yelling and shoved him against a wall. Moral of the story: lifetime warranty means hey this shit is going to continually not work (real safe), I will not refer ANYONE to give this place their business, and come here if you're interested in being assaulted by one of the "managers" (real professional bro, and probably a bad choice when the dude is stronger than you). Oh and the girls at the front desk gave the impression that this is normal behavior for their boss, wonderful! This company was good about exchanging an item (LED headlights) I purchased that was the wrong model (my fault). However, when I got the correct item and installed it it stopped working after a few months. First it would blink and then every time I hit a bump in the road they would turn on and off. If one high beam was working the opposite low beam would work. Just really not a quality product even though their service was good. read more

Let's start off with I have been a DDM customer since 2009-10ish. Today I went to warranty out my HID high/ low h4 kit for my 2015 Tundra. They had no records of me purchasing them which they told me that it may have been done incorrectly by their employee. Alright I get that then I asked why this is my third set of the same kit and they keep going out every 6 months to a year. They proceeded to tell me that Toyota is not compatible with their kits. Ok got that then their manager came out to tell me they couldn't warranty their product because they couldn't find the correct receipt even though they said their own employee did not sell it over correctly. Wouldn't you think they would advice before purchasing their product that it's not compatible with Toyota? Yes of course they should and if they failed to do so they should at least offer to buy them back and give you some credit towards something else. I will never be returning to them, always directed business to them even when they only had one location and a smaller company. My advice if you end up going there make sure everything is entered correctly into their POS and also ask if it compatible with your car. Their lack of customer service and training to their employees must be very minimal. Good luck everyone! PS. I never write reviews but this time I really felt let down by a business that I have been supporting for almost 10 years. So it means a lot for me to take time out of my day to write this. Edit response to owner July 1st: Warranty to my understanding is when the seller replaces the product at their expense. I paid for the new bulbs due to the fact that you (DDM) stopped carrying the old product. So there was no warranty there and that was in 2018. I know for fact I at the least I paid cost if not 10-25% above cost. Like I said I was mislead as well. Your tech and your cashier both said and agreed with each other that your product is not compatible with Toyota, Lexus, Nissan etc. you guys knew what the kit was going to be installed on. You didn't bother to to disclose the info until the third time your kit fails. I know that would be an issue with any customers if they were told their car is not compatible with your product.
